Abstract

This study aims to determine the actual situation of student with indicators of mathematical creative thinking abilities used are originality, fluency, elaboration and flexibility to determine their mathematical creative thinking skills. Creative thinking is defined as the basic abilities that must be mastered and developed  by each student with the aim of creating new things, new ways or giving new idea in generating ways to produce new ways and solve problem as alternative solutions that are different from those that already exist before. A total of 37 student of class 8 at one of the state junior high schools in Karawang regency were the research subject and qualitative descriptive as the research method. There are 4 questions about the ability to think mathematically creatively on the flat shape material as a tes instrument given to student. Data analysis in this research is data reduction, data  display, and verification.  The results of this study were the lowest score 18,75 and highest score of 93,75with an average score of  35,3. The conclusion is that students’ mathematical  creative thinking skills in junior high school students in karawang city are less creative.

Abstract

This study intends to investigate and learn about the improvement of mastery of the concept of Relations and Functions in Grade VIII students of SMP Negeri 28 Bandung. The hypothesis of this research action is that via scientific approach, the mastery of the idea of Relation and Function of Grade VIII Students of SMP Negeri 28 Bandung may be improved. With a total of 32 students, this study was conducted on grade VIII students at SMP Negeri 28 Bandung in the 2020/2021 school year. The instrument utilized is a learning outcomes test that assesses students' mathematical concept skills. Initial tests (before action), cycle I and cycle II tests (after actions), and observation sheets for teachers and students are all examples of testing. Planning, action implementation, observation and assessment, and reflection are all part of this study approach. The data processing technique in this study is to find the average value by using Microsoft Excel. Cycle I's average test score was 73.86, up 18.21 points from the average beginning test result of 55.65. The average score of cycle II test results was 82.45, up 26.8 points from the average initial test result and 8.59 points higher than cycle I test results. The mastery of the idea of Relationships and Functions in grade VIII students of SMP Negeri 28 Bandung can be improved using a scientific method, according to work indicators.

Abstract

This type of research is a qualitative descriptive study that aims to analyze the mistakes of junior high school students in completing social arithmetic material. The subjects used were 20 students of class VIII-C SMP Sejahtera 2 Cileungsi, one of the private junior high schools in Bogor Regency. The data collection technique used was in the form of student test results with written questions in the form of descriptions of 5 questions, then each error faced by students was described in each question number on the social arithmetic material. The data analysis performed was data reduction, data presentation and conclusion drawing. The highest percentage of errors was in question number 4, which was 75%, while the lowest percentage of errors was in question number 2, which was 10%. Based on the results of the study, it showed that there were several mistakes in solving the essay questions, namely errors in understanding the basic concepts, errors in principle in reading the essay questions, and errors in operating the data contained in the questions. The conclusion from the results of this study obtained data that the ability of students still experienced many errors in solving social arithmetic questions.

Abstract

This study aims to determine the student difficulties in the SPLDV material. This research is a quantitative descriptive study that examines students difficulties yn the SPLDV material based on indicators (1) Modeling the SPLDV (2) Analyzing the completion of the SPLDV (3) Finding the solution to the SPLDV using Elimination and Subtitution methods (4) Summarizing the grap and (5) Linking the SPLDV in everyday life. The research was carried out in one of the private junior high school in Padalarang. The subjects of this research ere 15 students who have studied the SPLDV material. The data collection is by giving questions to student. The data analysis technique went though three stages, namely data reduction, data presentation, and conclusion. The results of the study show that there are still students who have difficulty in concluding the indicators of the graph, this can be seen from the average value of 27% which belong to the very poor category. It is also found that the factors that make the indicators on the SPLDV material esperience difficulties are the lack of accuracy when working on problems, difficulty in classifying known objects, and not mastering the concepts and principles of SPLDV.

Abstract

Describing students' abilities in understanding mathematical concepts in class VII SMP IT Nurul Huda Batujaya in learning mathematics in algebraic forms is the aim of the study. Using a qualitative descriptive method and then data analysis, namely, data reduction, data presentation and drawing conclusions. The research instrument used tests and interviews. The type of test is a description test. Judging from the results of the student's ability test on algebraic form material in understanding concepts, it is classified as low. As well as the results of interviews with students who find difficulties including: difficulty in distinguishing elements that exist in algebraic form, difficulties in substituting equations, and difficulties in arithmetic operations in algebraic forms.

Abstract

The purpose of this study was to determine the ability to increase understanding of mathematical concepts of SMP Negeri 4 Natar students by applying the ELPSA learning model, ELPSA learning model through dart board math media and conventional learning models. The method in this study is a quantitative method using Quasy Experimental research and the research design used is Pretest-Posttest Control Group Design. The normality test used the Liliefors method, the homogeneity test used the Bartlett method. The N-Gain test is used to see the increase in the ability to understand mathematical concepts. Hypothesis testing using the one-way ANOVA test was continued using the Scheffe test (follow-up test) using a significant level of 5% or 0.05 and it can be concluded that increasing understanding of mathematical concepts applied by the ELPSA learning model through dart board math is better than increasing understanding of mathematical concepts who were treated with the ELPSA learning model and the conventional learning model.

Abstract

This research was conducted to analyze the learning interest of elementary school students in learning mathematics using scratch media. The research used descriptive qualitative method. The research subjects were 15 elementary school students in Cimahi for the 2020-2021 school year. The research provides a test instrument with the provision of a student learning interest scale questionnaire, test and interviews. Scratch is a programming language that can be used as a learning medium in the form of games, quizzes, animations and others. The result indicate of the questionnaire data, students' interest in learning has a percentage of 73.25%. All data in this research were processed using Microsoft Excel by finding average of indicator of student interest in learning. Baesed on the result of this research, it was shown that elementary school students’s interest in learning mathematic using scratch falled into strong category.

Abstract

This study aims to describe the difficulties of students and find the cause of the difficulties faced by students in the Pythagorean theorem material in solving problems or questions about the material. Where the type of research used is descriptive research. The research of class IX from SMPN 2 Cipongkor for the academic year 2020-2021. Data collection techniques in this study were tests and documentation. The difficulties that are generally faced by students are difficulty in understanding the concept of the Pythagorean theorem, difficulty in understanding the problem and difficulty in answering a problem on the Pythagorean theorem. Good mastery of material concepts is able to bring students to produce good solutions as well. Understanding concepts and understanding in answering questions must be mastered by students to make it easier to work on the questions presented.

Abstract

The research was aimed at analyzing student's difficulties in resolving social arithmetic on 7th grade class. The method was qualitative descriptive. In one of West Bandung MTSN with 20 students on 7th grade class 2020-2021 school year as subject. The sampling was giving a written test of six questions. After that, the answer will be analyzed. That data were analyzed by Data Reduction, Data Presentation, and Drawn a Conclusion. Result of the research showed that the student's difficulties are 1) understanding the question 2) determining the correct formula 3) the student less precise in answer the questions and 4) lack of understanding concepts. Result of this research hopes that teachers can lead and help the student's difficulties, so that students can improve their math skills especially social arithmetic.

Abstract

The low understanding of students about relations and functions online learning, therefor need to improve of teaching to students, with implementing online learning with scientific approach assisted by e-learning. The problem formulated is how to implement online learning using scientific approach assisted by e-learning the concept relations and functions for students of MtsN 1 Cimahi City? The aim is to find the implementation of online learning using scientific approach assisted by e-learning the concept relations and functions for students of MtsN 1 Cimahi City. This research was conducted on students class VIII-A MTsN 1 Cimahi City in even semester with 32 students. The method used is descriptive qualitative. The instrument is 5 essay questions. The procedure is initial test, test 1 and 2. The source is the results of student answers and student observation sheets. The scientific approach uses 5 indicators namely observing, asking, reasoning, trying, and communicating. The processing technique is to find the average value of students using Microsoft Excel. The average score of students continued from pretest to test 2, from 39,00,65.00 and 76.23. So be concluded that scientific approach using observing, asking, reasoning, trying, and communicating can improve student’s understanding of the concepts relations and functions.
