Abstract

The purpose of this research is to identify the character education values embedded in eating-together activities and their application in the daily lives of children. This study employed a descriptive qualitative approach to examine the implementation of character education values through eating-together activities among third-grade students at UPTD SD Negeri 2 Bakam. Primary data were collected from the principal, teachers, and third-grade students, while secondary data were obtained from books, internet sources, and school documentation. Data were collected through observation, interviews, and documentation, and analyzed by reviewing and interpreting all collected information systematically. The findings indicate that eating-together activities contribute to the development of positive character traits, strengthen solidarity among students, and foster habits of sharing and appreciating food. Furthermore, these activities support the sustainability of character education within the school environment. Therefore, eating together serves not only as a daily routine but also as an effective medium for instilling positive values in students' everyday lives.

Abstract

Tujuan yang hendak dicapai penelitian ini adalah 1) Untuk mendapatkan langkah pengembangan media pembelajaran aplikasi online matematika BERGURU (Belajar Pengukuran Volume) berbasis android. 2) Untuk menghasilkan media pembelajaran aplikasi online matematika BERGURU (Belajar Pengukuran Volume) berbasis android pada mata pelajaran matematika yang layak dalam materi pengukuran volume menggunakan satuan baku. Jenis penelitian ini adalah penelitian dan pengembangan yang berorientasi pada produk (Research and Development) dengan menggunakan model ADDIE. Penelitian pengembangan ini menghasilkan produk berupa media pembelajaran aplikasi online matematika BERGURU (Belajar Pengukuran Volume) berbasis android untuk siswa kelas IV Sekolah Dasar. Teknik pengumpulan data yang digunakan berupa angket penilaian validasi ahli media dan ahli materi, angket respon siswa dan guru, tes, dan observasi. Pengembangan media BERGURU ini dilakukan menggunakan google sites kemudian diubah dalam bentuk aplikasi menggunakan software website 2 APK builder. Hasil validasi media memperoleh presentase nilai sebesar 97%. sedangkan hasil validasi materi memperoleh presentase nilai sebesar 84%. Kesimpulannya bahwa media pembelajaran aplikasi online BERGURU (Belajar Pengukuran Volume) berbasis android sangat layak digunakan untuk pembelajaran materi pengukuran volume menggunakan satuan baku.

Abstract

Eco-literacy is essential in elementary education because early environmental awareness can shape children’s values, habits, and responsible behavior toward nature. This study aims to examine how eco-literacy can be introduced to elementary students through digital media, especially YouTube, combined with storytelling, field trips, and practical environmental activities. Using a qualitative exploratory design, this study integrated a literature review and semi-structured teacher interviews to explore learning strategies, student responses, classroom implementation, and challenges in eco-literacy education. The findings show that YouTube videos increased students’ attention, curiosity, and participation by presenting environmental problems through concrete audiovisual examples. Storytelling helped students develop empathy toward nature, while field trips and outdoor activities made environmental concepts more observable and meaningful. The 5R approach (refuse, reduce, reuse, recycle, and rot) supported practical habit formation through simple classroom and school-based activities. However, the results also indicate that digital media must be carefully curated and guided by teachers to ensure accuracy, age appropriateness, and pedagogical relevance. This study concludes that eco-literacy learning is most effective when digital media are integrated with experiential learning, teacher guidance, family support, and community participation. The study contributes a contextual model for introducing eco-literacy to elementary students in the Society 5.0 era.

Abstract

This study investigates digital competencies and their interfacing with AI in the Islamic secondary schools of Southern Pakistan and its impact on teachers’ functional skills. Integration of artificial intelligence and digital skills into the education process can set an important agenda on questions related to teacher performance, technology skill development. This quantitative study analyzes 450 responses from a sample of 450 Islamic school teachers by using SPSS 22. according to study criteria. The impact of digital competencies and AI usage on functional teaching skills was evaluated by means of a multiple linear regression method. The results reveal that the use of AI tools did not make any difference in terms of communication skills as the values of their significance (0.073 > 0.05) exceeded the threshold. Nevertheless, digital competences had significant influence on all functional skills, but with a significance value of 0.000 < 0.05. The findings indicate the importance of the digital skills in contemporary education and points to the gap for AI application among rural Islamic school teachers. The contribution to this study was to help with teacher digital readiness, AI adaptation and professional skills enhancement. The insights offer recommendations for improving educational practices, technology integration policy, and teacher development programs in Southern Pakistan that will be valuable for implementing in its context.
