JURNAL OPTIMALISASI (JOPT) merupakan jurnal elektronik online yang diterbitkan oleh Program studi Teknik Industri, Fakultas Teknik, Universitas Teuku Umar. Abstract

This research was conducted at a heavy equipment manufacturing company located in the West Java. The researcher was placed as an intern in the Production Engineering department, responsible for designing, managing, and improving production processes to ensure smoothness, efficiency, and quality in production. The study aimed to enhance the efficiency of the punch changeover process on the bending machine in the material preparation area using the Single Minute Exchange of Dies (SMED) method. The main issue identified was that the addition of new machines in the cutting process necessitated a faster forming process. By applying SMED, this research focused on reducing punch changeover time. The research method involved analyzing the punch changeover process on the YSD bending machine, implementing the separation of internal and external activities, and designing a custom trolly to facilitate the transportation and arrangement of equipment. The results showed that the application of SMED successfully reduced punch changeover time by 1.12%, from 1780 seconds to 1760 seconds. Additionally, with the introduction of a custom trolly, the efficiency of punch changeover further increased, resulting in a total reduction in punch changeover time of 38.31%, from 1780 seconds to 1098 seconds. This underscores the importance of combining various process improvement methods to achieve optimal results in enhancing production efficiency

Abstract

The purpose of this research is to explain the process of training and developing human resources at the Fan Sate soy sauce factory in Probolinggo Regency. The sources of information in this study were factory owners and workers. The methods used in this study are qualitative–descriptive methods using data collection techniques in the form of observation, interviews, transportation, and documentation. The analysis results found that the Fan Sate soy sauce factory applied several methods in employee training, such as learning methods, work instruction training, and work training. As for employee development, the Fan Sate soy sauce factory uses job rotation and training methods. The research uses SOAR (Strengths, Opportunities, Aspirations, Results) and QSPM (Quantitative Strategic Planning Matrix) analysis. The development of mentorship or coaching programs has become an important strategy in improving the leadership and skills of employees in various organizations. Through mentorship or coaching relationships, employees get insights and feedback directly from an experienced mentor or coach, which can accelerate their learning process and improve their performance. Thus, the program is not only beneficial to the individuals involved but also has a positive impact on the entire organization.

Abstract

PT. Primayudha Mandirijaya is a manufacturing company operating in the textile sector. Customer satisfaction is the main goal. Therefore, production quality always comes first. However, there are problems in making this happen, namely that there are often defects in spools of 20s polyester, because these defects greatly exceed the production limit set by the company, namely 5% of total production. The aim of this research is to find out directly the problems that occur in the production process, as well as to find out the resolution of problems that occur on winding machines. To make this happen, the Statistical Quality Control (SQC) method is used. To determine the possibility of failure, the Failure Mode and Effect Analysis (FMEA) method is used. SQC is used to control product quality, reduce or prevent product failures, while FMEA is used to identify potential failures in the production process. The results of research using the Statistical Quality Control method, the defect rate of 44.67% in Stitch can be reduced to 43.97% and the defect rate of 36.07% in Swelled Package can be reduced to 29.36%. In the Failure Mode and Effect Analysis method, the factors causing defects are influenced by a lack of attention to components and maintenance on the machine, so the maintenance team is recommended to carry out regular check-ups on the condition of the machine every day. Before repairs were carried out, total defects from January to September reached 68,231.52 or 5.28% of production output. After improvements, the number of defects decreased in October to 6,831.72 or 4.53%. Thus, this research is able to reduce defects in spools of 20s polyester thread by 0.75%.

Abstract

This study aims to determine the performance of clean water production at PDAM XYZ. The method used is the Objective Matrix (OMAX). In the formation of the Omax matrix, values are required in the form of actual values, actual scores, productivity values, and descriptions of each ratio. The results of the study show that the Overall Productivity (OP) value shows that the productivity of the XYZ Regional Drinking Water Company (PDAM) in producing clean water as a whole from 2021 to 2024 has increased and decreased. The highest Overall Productivity (OP) value is in 2022 at 601, where overall the actual score for each ratio is not included in the bad category. The lowest Overall Productivity (OP) value is in 2023, this is because in 2023 for ratio 6, namely about effectiveness, which has an actual score of only 1, it is included in the bad category. After experiencing a decline in productivity, in 2024 the company's overall productivity value increased again. So it can be concluded that the best performance and productivity that occurred during 2021 to 2024 was in 2022, this can be seen from the overall productivity value in 2022 which was 601. Meanwhile, the worst performance and productivity occurred in 2023, this can be seen from the very low overall productivity value in 2023, which was only 388.

Abstract

This research aims to analyze the financial feasibility and sensitivity of investment in the rejuvenation of smallholder oil palm plantations in Lungmane Village, Kuala Pesisir Subdistrict, Nagan Raya Regency, Aceh Province, amidst the problem of declining Fresh Fruit Bunch (FFB) productivity due to aging trees. The research method used is quantitative analysis with investment criteria of Net Present Value (NPV), Internal Rate of Return (IRR), Net Benefit-Cost Ratio (Net B/C), and Payback Period (PP), as well as sensitivity analysis to changes in FFB prices. The results of the analysis show that the rejuvenation project for smallholder oil palm plantations in Lungmane Village is financially feasible based on positive NPV, IRR, Net B/C, and Payback Period indicators. However, the sensitivity analysis reveals that the project's feasibility is highly influenced by fluctuations in FFB prices, where a price decrease of up to 70% can render the project unfeasible. This study concludes that although the rejuvenation of smallholder oil palm plantations in Lungmane Village has good financial prospects, farmers need to be aware of the risk of declining FFB prices.

Abstract

West Aceh Regency produces 2,804 tons/year of palm oil with a total of 1.8 million tons/year of palm shell waste. Utilization and solutions to palm shell waste can be done by burning palm shells at high temperatures until they become ashes. Palm ash contains a certain amount of silica and has pozzolan qualities. This study aims to decide the impact of the utilize of palm shell ash and silicafume in High Early Strength Concrete (HESC) concrete mixtures on the magnitude of the compressive strength of concrete. The method used is the experimental laboratory method using American Concrete Institute (ACI) method. The composition of the test pieces is normal concrete (BN), palm shell ash concrete (BCS) with a percentage of 3%, 5%, and 7% plus silicafume 1.5% of the cement weight. The test specimen uses a cylinder with a diameter of 15 cm x 30 cm totaling 24 pieces. Based on the results of the maximum compressive strength of 7-day concrete life of 22.552 MPa of BN test piece, the minimum value is 19.155 MPa of 7% BCS test piece. At 28 days of concrete age, the maximum compressive strength is 26.893 MPa for 3% BCS test piece, and the minimum value is 22.364 MPa for 5% BCS test piece. Based on the results of the tests and analyses carried out, it can be concluded that the expansion of palm shell fiery remains and silicafume to the concrete blend can increment the compressive quality of concrete on average above 20 MPa over time due to the influence of the percentage of pozzolan shell ash and the addictive substance silicafume.

Abstract

This study aims to evaluate the utilization of the Village Information System (Sistem Informasi Desa or SID) in Gresik Regency, with a case study involving all villages in the Ujungpangkah District. The Village Information System (SID) serves as a crucial tool for enhancing the efficiency of public services at the village level and promoting transparency and accountability in village governance. However, its implementation and utilization still face various challenges. This research employs both qualitative and quantitative approaches to obtain a comprehensive overview of the extent to which SID has been implemented and utilized by the villages in Ujungpangkah District. Data were collected through in-depth interviews, questionnaires, and field observations. The analysis was conducted using descriptive and inferential methods to identify the factors influencing SID utilization, including technical aspects, human resources, and government support. The findings indicate that the utilization of SID in these villages remains suboptimal, with the main obstacles being limited technological infrastructure, lack of training for village officials, and insufficient support from the local government. The recommendations derived from this study are expected to serve as a reference for local governments in improving the utilization of SID to achieve better village governance.

Abstract

Donuts are one of the most popular foods in the community that have a sweet, savory, and unique taste. One of the donut branches in this study is located in Drien Rampak Village, Johan Pahlawan, West Aceh Regency. This study used the Quality Control Circle (QCC) method with the PDCA (Plan, Do, Check, Action) and 5W + 1H approaches. The data analyzed included product defects during the period June 2023 to May 2024, which included burnt color, inappropriate size, flat, and not rising. The results showed that the average defect rate reached 6% of the total monthly production. By implementing the QCC method, the main causes of defects were successfully identified using tools such as Pareto diagrams, cause-and-effect diagrams, and control charts. Improvement steps include implementing SOPs, employee training, and quality control at critical stages of production. The implementation of this method succeeded in significantly reducing the level of product defects, increasing production efficiency, and improving consumer satisfaction. This study provides a practical contribution to companies in controlling product quality and is a reference for further research related to quality management using the QCC method.

Abstract

In a company there are several machines and each machine has specifications that can be used for the process of making products where each machine has advantages and disadvantages. The aim of this research is to find out how to design tools that suit the needs of t-shirt screen printing operators using an anthropometric approach  and to find out whether the design of these tools can help operators be safer and more comfortable when carrying out the t-shirt screen printing process in the Industrial Engineering Laboratory and this research was carried out in a comprehensive manner. observational using the anthropometric measurement method and using the Nordic Body Map recapitulation by taking 3 operator samples for the anthropometric measurement method and distributing questionnaires to 12 operators. Then the results are processed and the highest score is obtained, namely at the pressing work station with an individual score (50-70) with a moderate risk level, improvements may be needed. The anthropometric measurement method was carried out by measuring 3 samples of t-shirt printing operators, then calculating the average, standard deviation and percentile calculation using the 50th percentile and the final results were obtained for the design size of the table aid with height: 85, width: 70 and length: 151

Abstract

Energi berkelanjutan menjadi perhatian utama dalam upaya mengurangi ketergantungan pada sumber energi konvensional. Pemanfaatan energi matahari melalui solar panel semakin berkembang sebagai solusi yang ramah lingkungan dan ekonomis. Kota Banda Aceh memiliki rata-rata paparan sinar matahari sebesar 5,10 kWh/m²/hari pada tahun 2024, sehingga berpotensi untuk dikonversi menjadi listrik. Penelitian ini bertujuan untuk menganalisis efisiensi penggunaan solar panel dalam memenuhi kebutuhan listrik rumah tangga sebesar 9,2 kWh/hari serta menghitung payback period pengembalian investasi dari pemasangan solar panel. Penelitian dilakukan secara kuantitatif melalui simulasi perolehan energi dan ekonomi rancangan PLTS. Software RETScreen digunakan untuk potensi energi pada lokasi penelitian. Hasil simulasi rancangan PLTS kemudian dianalisis dan dibandingkan terhadap penelitian dengan sistem serupa.   Hasil penelitian menunjukkan bahwa penggunaan satu unit solar panel dapat mengurangi biaya konsumsi listrik sebesar 27,9% per hari. Selain itu, dengan penggunaan 4 hingga 5 panel, energi yang dihasilkan dapat melebihi kebutuhan rumah tangga atau menghasilkan surplus listrik. Periode pengembalian investasi dari pemasangan solar panel ini diperkirakan memerlukan waktu antara 16 hingga 20 tahun.
