Abstract

Peatlands have significant potential for development in improving the yields of crop cultivation. Peat soil faces issues of nutrient deficiency and low pH, which pose challenges for cultivation. The application of agricultural lime to acidic soils can increase soil pH. This study aims to examine changes in peat soil pH through the application of various doses of Clam Shell Flour (TCL) as an alternative to lime. The research was conducted at the Teuku Umar University Experimental Field from March to May 2023. The study was designed using a Randomized Block Design with a Non-Factorial approach with 3 dose levels (0 ton/ha, 1 ton/ha, and 2 ton/ha) and consisted of 3 replications. The results of the ANOVA test for peat soil pH during the incubation of ameliorant materials used in this study over 5 weeks showed that Clam Shell Flour (TCL) had no significant effect on pH improvement. Fluctuating changes in peat soil pH were observed in each treatment every week. The lowest pH change range was found in the TCL0 treatment (TCL 0 ton/ha), while the highest was in the TCL1 treatment (TCL 1 ton/ha). Keywords: Peat, Liming, pH, Incubation, Clam Shell Flour

Abstract

Penelitian ini bertujuan untuk mengetahui pengaruh jenis dan konsentrasi ZPT alami serta interaksi antara jenis dan konsentrasi ZPT alami terhadap pertumbuhan stek jeruk lemon. Penelitian ini menggunakan Rancangan Acak Kelompok (RAK) pola faktorial yang terdiri dari 2 faktor, dengan perlakuan kontrol terpisah , yaitu Faktor jenis ZPT alami terdiri dari : J0 Kontrol – J1 Air Kelapa – J2 Ekstrak Bawang Merah – J3 Ekstrak Tauge. Dan factor Kosentrasi ZPT alami yang terdiri dari : K0 Tanpa zpt alami – K1 30% (300 ml zpt alami/700 ml air) – K2 40% (400 ml zpt alami/600 ml air) – K3 50% (500 ml zpt alami/500 ml air) – K4 60% (600 ml zpt alami/400 ml air). Hasil penelitian menujukkan bahwa perlakuan jenis ZPT alami berpengaruh nyata terhadap waktu tumbuh tunas, persentase tumbuh tunas, jumlah daun umur 4 MST dan jumlah akar. Namun tidak berpengaruh nyata terhadap parameter panjang tunas umur 4 MST dan 8 MST, serta parameter jumlah tunas umur 8 MST. Hasil pengamatan yang baik diperoleh pada perlakuan J2 (ekstrak bawang merah) dan J3 (ekstrak tauge). Perlakuan konsentrasi ZPT alami berpengaruh tidak nyata terhadap semua parameter yang diamati. Pengaruh Interaksi antara jenis dan konsentrasi ZPT alami berpengaruh nyata terhadap jumlah tunas umur 4 MST, jumlah daun umur 8 MST, dan panjang akar. Hasil pengamatan interaksi yang baik di peroleh oleh perlakuan J1K4 (air kelapa dan konsentrasi 60%), J3K2 (ekstrak tauge dan konsentrasi 40%) dan J3K3 (ekstrak tauge dan konsentrasi 50%).

Abstract

Penelitian ini bertujuan untuk mengetahui pengaruh media tanam dan interval waktu aplikasi zat pengatur tumbuh terhadap pertumbuhan bibit pisang barangan.  Penelitian ini dilaksanakan di Sekolah Menengah Kejuruan Pembangunan Pertanian (SMKPP) Negri Saree, Lembah Seulawah, Kabupaten Aceh Besar, dengan ketinggian tempat 450 m dari permukaan laut (dpl).  Penelitian menggunakan Rancangan Acak Kelompok (RAK) pola faktorial,3 x 3 dengan 3 ulangan, ada dua faktor yang diteliti, yaitu :1. Media tanam, dengan komposisi tanah : arang sekam : pupuk kandang, yang terdiri dari 3 taraf perlakuan; M1( 1 : 1 : 1), M2 (2 : 1 : 1), dan M3 (3 : 1 : 1), dan interval waktu aplikasi zat pengatur tumbuh, yang terdiri dari W1 (5 hari sekali), W2 (10 hari sekali), dan W3 (15 hari sekali).  Hasil penelitian menunjukkan bahwa perlakuan media tanam tidak memberikan pengaruh yang nyata terhadap semua parameter yang diamati, seperti :tinggi bibit, lingkar pangkal batang, jumlah daun, lebar daun, dan panjang daun.  Zat pengatur tumbuh juga tidak memberikan pengaruh yang nyata terhadap semua parameter.  Tidak terdapat interaksi yang nyata antara media tanam dan interval waktu pemberian zat pengatur tumbuh terhadap semua parameter yang diamati.Kata kunci : bibit pisang barangan, media tanam, zat pengatur tumbuh

Abstract

This study aims to evaluate the effect of a combination of biofertilizer and vegetable pesticide applications on the growth and yield of soybean. The research was conducted in Selayang Village, Selesai District, Langkat Regency, North Sumatra Province from December 2023 to March 2024. Using a factorial Randomized Group Design (RAK) design, this study considered several parameters such as plant height, number of leaves, flowering age, and seed production. Results showed that the application of biofertilizers had a significant effect on several growth and production parameters, while the application of plant-based pesticides also had a different impact on several parameters. The interaction between the two factors was also shown to have an effect on plant height, number of pods, and seed weight. The best treatment combination was S2P1 (biofertilizer 75 grams/polybag) and (vegetable pesticide once a week).Keywords: Biological fertilizers, vegetable pesticides, soybeans.

Abstract

The morphological similarity of bulb characteristics among shallot varieties can determine the genetic relatedness between them, which is valuable for selecting potential parent varieties in plant breeding programs. This study utilized eight qualitative and three quantitative bulb morphological characteristics to analyze the relatedness of eleven elite shallot varieties in Indonesia. The aim of this research was to determine the genetic relatedness of eleven shallot varieties (Kuning, Gempita, Pikatan, Kramat-1, Pancasona, Katumi, Bima Brebes, Trisula, Violetta 1, Maja Cipanas, and Ambassador 2) based on the identification of eleven morphological bulb characteristics using the UPOV (2008. Relatedness analysis was conducted using cluster analysis with OriginPro 2022 software to determine similarity values that aid in data grouping. The results showed that at 0 - 25% morphological similarity, there were two main clusters; at 50% morphological similarity, there were seven sub-clusters; and at 75% morphological similarity, there were eleven clusters, each consisting of a single variety. Among the eleven shallot varieties, some exhibited high similarity values ranging from 61% to 71%, such as Gempita Agrihorti and Ambassador 2 Agrihorti, Violetta 1 Agrihorti, and Kramat 1. This high similarity may be due to the use of the same parent varieties, Maja Cipanas and Trisula, in the breeding process. Kata kunci: bawang merah, kekerabatan, karakter morfologi umbi.

Abstract

 ABSTRAKPermasalahan pada budidaya tanaman jagung manis belum tepat termasuk pada penggunaan dosis pupuk dan cara pemupukan yang tidak tepat. Kesalahan dalam pemupukan saat pemberian dapat mempengaruhi kualitas dan kuantitas jagung manis dimana unsur hara yang terdapat di dalam tanah akan berkurang. Oleh karena itu penelitian ini bertujuan untuk mengetahui respon pertumbuhan dan hasil jagung manis ( Zea mays sacharata Sturt.) terhadap dosis dan cara pemupukan NPK. Penelitian ini dilaksanakan di Kota Langsa dengan menggunakan rancangan acak kelompok (RAK) faktorial, yaitu Dosis Pupuk NPK yang terdiri dari 3 taraf yaitu 300 kg/ha, 400 kg/ha, 500 kg/ha, dan cara pemupukan NPK yang terdiri dari 4 taraf yaitu Pop up, Tugal, Sebar, Larikan. Hasil penelitian menunjukkan bahwa antara dosis NPK (300 kg/ha) dan cara pemupukan larikan dapat meningkatkan parameter pertumbuhan jagung manis. Kebutuhan unsur  Nitrogen (N) ,  Fosfor (P) , dan  Kalium (K ) untuk tanaman jagung yang diberikan secara tepat dan berimbang untuk pertumbuhan dan hasil tanaman.Kata kunci : Jagung manis, dosis pupuk NPK, cara pemupukan NPK

Abstract

The hydroponic technique is a solution for agricultural activities that do not require a large area of land because it does not require soil as a growing medium but uses water. Rockwool is a commonly used seedling medium in hydroponics. Organic waste has the potential to be used as seedling media because it contains many substances and microorganisms that are beneficial for plant growth. This study aimed to determine the effectiveness of banana fronds, sugarcane stalks, and orange peel waste as seedling media for lettuce (Lactuca sativa L.) plants that are environmentally friendly in hydroponics. This study used a Non-Factorial Completely Randomized Design (CRD) with five treatments and four replications, where each replication consisted of 20 samples. The results of DMRT analysis showed that various compositions and types of seedling media had different effects on each characteristic, namely seedling height, number of leaf blades, germination percentage, water absorption, and the level of consistency of the mash. Banana fronds, sugarcane stalks, and orange peel waste in the ratio of 1:2:1 have the potential to be an environmentally friendly seedling media for hydroponic lettuce cultivation.

Abstract

Penelitian ini bertujuan untuk mengetahui pengaruh konsentrasi dan lama perendaman dalam ZPT alami rebung bambu serta interaksi antara konsentrasi dan lama perendaman dalam ZPT alami rebung bambu terhadap pertumbuhan dan hasil bawang merah. Penelitian ini menggunakan Rancangan Acak Kelompok (RAK) pola faktorial yang terdiri atas dua faktor, yaitu: Faktor konsentrasi ZPT alami Rebung Bambu (A) terdiri dari 3 taraf, yaitu : A1 = 30 ml/liter air, A2 = 40 ml/liter air, A3 = 50 ml/liter air dan faktor lama perendaman dalam ZPT alami rebung bambu (P) terdiri dari 3 taraf, yaitu : P1 = 10 menit, P2 = 15 menit, P3 = 20 menit. Hasil penelitian menunjukan bahwa perlakuan konsentrasi ZPT alami rebung bambu berpengaruh tidak nyata terhadap semua parameter yang diamati. Perlakuan lama perendaman dalam ZPT alami rebung bambu berpengaruh nyata terhadap parameter tinggi tanaman pada umur 3 MST, tetapi berpengaruh tidak nyata terhadap parameter tinggi tanaman pada umur 6 MST, jumlah daun per rumpun, jumlah anakan perumpun, jumlah umbi per rumpun, berat basah umbi per rumpun, dan berat kering umbi perumpun. Interaksi antara perlakuan konsentrasi ZPT alami rebung bambu dan lama perendaman dalam ZPT alami rebung bambu memberikan pengaruh tidak nyata terhadap semua parameter yang diamati.

Abstract

This research was conducted with the aim of studying the effect of the interaction of solid compost with coal fly ash and each treatment, as well as to obtain the best dose in increasing the growth and yield of upland rice plants (Oryza sativa L.) on Podsolic medium (Ultisol). The study used an experimental method with a completely randomized design (CRD) factorial of two factors, namely the provision of solid compost (0; 2.5; 5; and 7.5 t.ha-¹) and coal fly ash (0; 3; and 6 t.ha-¹) so that 12 treatment combinations were obtained with three replications, totaling 36 experimental units. The soil used was Ultisol soil from Batu Belah Village, Kampar. Observations included growth parameters and yields of upland rice plants of the Inpago 12 variety which included: plant height, maximum and productive number of tillers, panicle emergence age, harvest age, number and percentage of full grain, weight of 1,000 full grain grains, and weight of dry milled grain per clump. The research data were analyzed using analysis of variance (ANOVA) and continued with the Duncan Multiple Range Test (DMRT) at the 5% level. The study showed that there was no interaction between solid compost and coal fly ash on the growth and yield of upland rice (Oryza sativa L.) on Podsolic soil (Ultisol). Solid compost significantly affected several parameters such as plant height, panicle emergence age, harvest age, percentage of full grain, weight of 1000 full grain grains, and weight of dry milled grain per clump with the best dose of 5 t.ha-¹. On the other hand, coal fly ash did not show any significant effect on all observed parameters. Therefore, solid compost at a dose of 5 t.ha-¹ is recommended to increase the growth and yield of upland rice variety Inpago 12 on Podsolic soil (Ultisol).
