Abstract

Arthropods Abundance and Diversity Using Different Pest Control on Paddy Cultivation (Oryza sativa L.) Ciherang Varieties. Efforts to increase and maintain rice production face challenges due to attacks by arthropod pests. The most widely applied pest control by farmers is by using synthetic insecticides. However, synthetic insecticides affect the abundance of arthropods and are bad for the environment. This study aimed to obtain the lowest pest control technique on the abundance of arthropod pests, the best for natural enemiesand arthropod diversity, dominance, and evenness. The experiment design was Randomized Block Design (RBD) with 6 replications and 4 treatments including Untreated (UT), Combination Treatment (CT), Biointensive Treatment (BT), and Synthetic Treatment (St). Arthropod samples were taken 10 times from 1 – 10 WAP using 3 traps namely yellow sticky trap, sweep net, and vacuum trap. The data were analyzed using variance, and if the results were significantly different, it was followed by the Least Significant Difference (LSD) at 5% level. The results of the analysis showed that ST gave the lowest abundance to the average abundance (741,83), yellow sticky trap (337.67) and sweep net (323.00) significantly different from other treatments. But was not significanty diffirent to the vacuum trap (81.17). The index values of diversity, dominance, and evenness for each role of arthropods are classified as medium, low, and medium. Abstract

Red chili (Capisum annuum L.) is a horticultural commodity that has high economic value. Chili production in Indonesia is increasing, but it’s still unable to meet the needs of the Indonesian people, so it is necessary to assemble high-quality and high-yielding hybrid seeds. This study aims to identify the quantitative characters of 4 IPB hybrid chili lines with 6 commercial varieties as a comparison. This research was conducted in April-September 2022 at the Experimental Land PERURI in Teluk Jambe Timur District, Karawang Regency. The method used was an experimental method with a single factor randomized block design (RAK) with chili genotypes as the treatment. The treatment consisted of 4 expected lines namely F1.074005, F1.074003, F1.374005 and F1.374003 and 6 commercial control varieties namely CH3, Baja, Balebat, Elegance, Imperial 10 and Gada. Each genotype was repeated 3 times so that there were 30 experimental units and each experimental unit consisted of 10 plants. The data obtained will be analyzed at the 5% level F test with the Duncan Multiple Range Test (DMRT). Based on the experimental results, it was shown that there were treatments that had a significant effect on the yield component of fruit weight per plant, namely genotypes F1.374003 and F1.074003. The hopeful hybrid F1.374003 also gave the highest yield in the productivity yield component (4.67 tonnes/ha).

Abstract

Pakcoy (Brassica rapa L.) or also called spoon mustard is a type of vegetable horticultural plant that belongs to the Brassicaceae family. Pakcoy is a leaf vegetable plant that belongs to the same genus as mustard. The use of rabbit urine as liquid organic fertilizer is not only beneficial for increasing soil fertility, it can also reduce costs that must be incurred in farming activities. The aims of studi is to obtain a combination dosage of NPK inorganic fertilizer and rabbit urine organic fertilizer that can provide the best growth and yield for pakcoy plants. This research was carried out in Payungsari Village, Pedes District, Karawang Regency, West Java Province, in May – June 2022 The experimental method distric experimental method using a single factor Randomized Block Design (RBD), with 3 replications, A 0 (control), B (150 kg/ha + 10 l/ha), C (150 kg/ha + 20 l/ha), D (150 kg/ha + 30 l/ha), E (200 kg/ha + 10 l/ha), F (200 kg/ha + 20 l/ha+, G (200 kg/ha + 30 l/ha), H (250 kg/ha + 10 l/ha), I (250 kg/ha + 20 l/ha) and J (250 kg/ha + 30 l/ha). Data were analyzed statistically with the F table 5% test and Duncan's New Multiple Range Test (DMRT) at the 5% level. The hight yield with root and without root of 150,08 g/plant and 142,38 g/plant, respectired was obtained by treatment J (250 kg/ha NPK + 30 l/ha POC rabbit urine). This achievement was significant atechment with of treatment A (control) and was not significant district with other achievement.Keywords: POC rabbit urine, rabbit urine, pakcoy, growth and yield

Abstract

Organic fertilizer made from medicinal plants and spices that have been fermented and mixed with favorable active microbes. The purpose of the study is to get a dose of biological organic fertilizer and inorganic fertilizer which gives the growth of sweet corn plants (Zea mays L. Saccharata Sturt) The highest commander variety. The study was conducted on the land owned by Biomethagreen (Educational House), Jl. Banjar Sari No.38, Awisurat Hamlet, Tanjungsari District, Sumedang Regency, West Java. The research method used is the experimental method, using a random design group (rack) a single factor consisting of 5 treatments and repeated 5 times, so there are 25 experimental units. The results showed that there was a concrete effect of the use of biological and inorganic organic fertilizer on plant height (1 and 3 MST), stem diameter (3, 5, 7, 9 MST), number of leaves (5 MST), anthesis silking intervals (ASI), and When a female flower appears in the growth of sweet corn plants (Zea mays L. Saccharata Sturt.) Panglima varieties. There is a combination of organic and inorganic fertilizer that produces the highest yield to the growth of sweet corn plants. The combination of treatment P1 (urea 250 kg/ha? NPK 300 kg/ha) affects the parameter of the stem diameter (1 and 5 MST), the number of leaves, interval silking anthesis (ASI), when male flowers appear, when appearing female flowers, combination of p4 effect on plant height parameters, and stem diameter (3, 7, 9 MST). Keywords : sweet corn, bio-organic fertilizers, inorganic fertilize, growth vegetative

Abstract

Straw mushroom is one of the horticultural commodities that is in great demand by the community. The successful cultivation of straw mushrooms is determined by the quality of the seeds of the molten mushroom. Tissue culture is one of the efforts to get quality seeds. Quality seedlings are seen from the brood of the merang fungus and the quality of pure culture. Making pure culture is still constrained in making in vitro media, especially alternative media materials. This study aims to obtain the best results from the growth of G2 FP005 mycelia on alternative media materials in vitro. This research was conducted at the Biotechnology and Plant Breeding Laboratory, Faculty of Agriculture, Singaperbangsa University, Karawang from April to May 2023. The research method used was a single factor Complete Randomized Design (CRD) with 7 treatments and 5 replications: A (100% PDA); B (100% Charcoal Husk Solution); C (100% Husk Solution); D (80% PDA + 20% Husk Charcoal Solution), E (75% PDA + 25% Husk Solution), F (50% Husk Charcoal Solution + 50% Husk Solution); G (50% PDA + 25% Husk Charcoal Solution + 25% Husk Solution). The effect of the treatment was analyzed using variance and if the F test was significant at 1% level, then to find out which treatment was the best it was continued with the DMRT (Duncan Multiple Range Test) advanced test at the 1% level of significance. The results achieved from this study were that there was a significant effect of using alternative media materials on the growth of the straw mushroom mycelia. Alternative media 80% PDA + 20% rice husk charcoal gave the highest mycelia colony diameter of 7.88 cm and the highest mycelial colony growth rate of 2,878 cm/day. Keywords: Unsika Faperta Isolate, Straw Mushroom, Tissue Culture.

Abstract

Efforts to increase domestic soybean production are still hampered by the use of low-yielding varieties and pest attacks caused by high temperatures that are relatively stable throughout the year. This research aims to obtain botanical pesticides and varieties that produce the lowest intensity of important pest attacks on soybean plants (Glycine max (L.) Merrill). The research method used was a factorial Randomized Block Design (RBD) which consisted of 9 treatments and was repeated 3 times. The first factor is Variety which consists of 3 levels, namely v1 (Anjasmoro), v2 (Grobogan), v3 (Nusa Sanggabuana).The second factor is Botanical Pesticides which consists of 3 levels, namely p0  (Control), p1 (Kenikir Leaves), p2 (Soursop Leaves). The results of the analysis of variance and DMRT test at 5% level showed that There was an interaction effect between the type of botanical pesticide and three soybean varieties on the intensity of important pest attacks at plant age of 9 WAP. The independent factors of the varieties showed significant differences in plant height at 14, 21, 28 and 35 DAP and number of pods.Meanwhile, the independent factor of applying kenikir leaf botanical pesticides showed the highest value for the number of pods and the lowest intensity of pest attacks at ages 3, 5 and 7 WAPbut was not significantly different from other treatments. Keywords: soybean varieties, botanical pesticides, pests

Abstract

The prospects for the development of red ginger plants in Indonesia are still quite bright, especially for export, the traditional medicine industry, the food and beverage industry and cooking spices. Fresh red ginger in Indonesia is exported to various countries including the United States, Japan, Singapore and Pakistan. The red ginger plant (Zingiber officinale Rosc) is one of the important herbs. During its growth, from planting to production, it is definitely a ginger plant. has absorbed a number of food elements. Therefore, efforts are needed to maintain, increase and increase soil fertility, including by fertilizing. One of the determining factors is the use of cow manure and NPK fertilizer. The aim of this research is to determine the effect of using doses of cow manure and NPK fertilizer on the growth of red ginger plants (Zingiber officinale Rosc.). This research uses a Factorial Randomized Block Design (RAK). which consists of 2 (two) treatment factors. The first factor is the dose of cow manure (K) consisting of 4 levels, namely:= Control,= 75 tons/ha (2kg/plot),= 150 tons/ha (4kg/plot)), K3= 225 tons/ha (6kg /plot)). The second factor, namely the dose of NPK fertilizer (M), consists of 3 levels, namely: M0= Control, = 0.4 gr/plot, M2= 0.6 gr/plot, M3 = 0.8 gr/plot. Observed variables include Plant Height, Number leaves/sample, and number of saplings/sample. The results of the research on the dose of cow manure showed a very real influence on plant height, number of leaves and number of tillers in red ginger plants. NPK fertilizer doses that are too high have an impact on low plant height, number of leaves, and number of red ginger plant saplings Keywords: red ginger, cow manure, NPK

Abstract

Shallots (Allium ascalonicum L.) is a vegetable commodity that is prioritized for development because it has high economic value. Some of the problems that arise in cultivating shallots include the high price of fertilizer and less fertile soil. An alternative to solving these two problems is by using compost. One of the plants that can be used as compost is the kirinyuh plant (Chromolaena odorata L.). Kirinyuh compost can improve soil chemical quality and plant growth and yield. This research aims to determine the dosage of kirinyuh compost for the growth and production of shallot plants. Carried out on the experimental land of the Department of Agroindustry, Padang State University, Sijunjung campus with an altitude of ± 450 meters above sea level, in February-June 2023. The research used a Randomized Block Design  with 4 treatments and 6 replications. The levels of treatment given are as follows: K0 Without treatment (control), K1 100 g/polybag, K2 300 g/polybag, K3 600 g/polybag. The parameters observed were plant height (cm), number of leaves (strands), number of bulbs (fruit), wet weight of shallot plants (g). The results of this research had a significant effect on the height of shallot plants with an average height of 39.029 cm (K3), and had no significant effect on other observed parameters. Keywords: kirinyuh, growth, production, shallots

Abstract

Sorghum (Sorghum bicolor L.) is one of the alternative food crops that is still rarely cultivated in Indonesia. The development of sorghum cultivation can be started by using quality seeds. The storage processof sorghum seeds must be well maintained, because sorghum seeds contain high carbohydrates and proteins that are hygroscopic in nature so that they affect the moisture content and physiological quality of the seeds. The purpose of this study was to obtain a nappropriates helf life for several varieties of sorghum. The research was conducted at the BRIN Appropriate Technology Laboratory, from June to August 2023. The research method used was a factorial Completely Randomized Design (CRD) experiment consisting of 2 factors, namely the shelf life period and sorghum varieties with 4 replications, so the rewere 24 experiments. The first factoris variety which consists of 3 levels, namelyv1 = Soper 6, v2 = Suri 3, and v3 = Kawali. The second factor was shelf life consisting of 2 levels, namelys1 = 1year and s2 = 2 years. The effect of the treatment was tested by analysis of variance and if the F test at 5% was significant, it was followed by Duncan Multiple Range further test (DMRT). The results of the experiment showed that there was an interaction between different types of varieties and shelf life on the observation parameters of moisturecontent, germination, vigorindex, growth speed, and electrical conductivity and there was no interaction on the parameter of dry weight of normal sprouts. Atstorage age, the best percentage of moisture content is 9,51%, germination power is 94,62%, vigor index is 55,63%, growth speed is 41,30%, and electrical conductivity is 25,32%. Keywords: seed physiological quality, shelflife, sorghum

Abstract

Red spinach production is currently still relatively low and unstable due to lack of nutrition on agricultural land conditions. This study aims to obtain the best combination of doses of Liquid Organic Fertilizer(LOF) based on organic waste and NPK fertilizer, so as to increase the growth of red spinach (Amaranthus tricolor L.) Mira variety. The research method was used an experimental method with the singlefactor Randomized Block Design (RBD) with 8 treatments, namely: A (NPK 250 kg/ha), B (LOF 200 ml/l), C (LOF 100 ml/l + NPK 200 kg/ha), D (LOF 200 ml/l + NPK 200 kg/ha), E (LOF 300 ml/l + NPK 200 kg/ha),  F (LOF 100 ml/l + NPK 150 kg/ha), G (LOF 200 ml/l + NPK 150 kg/ha), H (LOF 300 ml/l + NPK 150 kg/ha). Each treatment was repeated 4 times, resulting in 32 experimental units. Data analysis using the F test (α= 0.05) if significant, further tested with the Duncan Multiple Range Test (DMRT) at the level of 0.05. The results showed that there was not significant effect on all growth parametersof red spinach plants, but treatment C with a combination dose of 100 ml/l organic waste liquid organic fertilizer and 200 kg/ha NPK fertilizer gave the highest results for plant height 28 dap (73.36 cm) and number of leaves 28 dap (26.70 strands). Keywords: LOF, NPK fertilizer, growth, result, red spinach
