Abstract

It is hoped that jekajeh, which is recognized and accommodated according to the social field of boarding students, can provide the benefit of a space for expression of female students that is in line with the hobbies and development of female students' psychological potential. This ethnographic qualitative research aims to discover the dynamics of jekajeh as a student's striving behavior, how to care for jekajeh, and how consultative stimulants are known to make jekajeh in Islamic boarding schools healthier. Participants were 5 female students at the Nurul Quran Kraksaan Islamic Boarding School aged 18-23 years. Data collection used in-depth interview techniques and open questionnaires, with inductive-abstractive data analysis. The results found that jekajeh is a form of problem solving, emotional control, and encouragement to pray. Hobbies became part of the potential solution to jekajeh, and the consultation space in interviews plays a role in breaking down pressure into striving power (jekajeh), which may or may not persist. This study has the implication that Islamic boarding schools need a response and provide psychological services for the growth of striving power (jekajeh), so that students remain healthy and survive in Islamic boarding schools.

Abstract

This study aims to provide a comprehensive account of the local community’s perspective on the Buka Luwur tradition in two distinct cultural contexts, specifically in Sunan Kudus and Sunan Muria. The research methodology employs a qualitative phenomenological approach. The informants were selected using a purposive sampling technique based on two criteria: (1) caretakers of the graves of Sunan Muria and Sunan Kudus, and (2) native residents of Kudus who participate in the ritual of breaking luwur at their graves. This investigation involved a total of four informants. Data collection employs in-depth interviews. The research employs a direct interview technique, using an interview guide based on the theory of perception characteristics. Coding is used for data analysis, and triangulation establishes credibility. According to the research findings, the Kudus community generally has a favorable perception of the Buka Luwur tradition in Sunan Muria and Sunan Kudus. The people believe that participating in the tradition will result in receiving blessings from the mullah.

Abstract

Sensitivity is a measure that can reflect the balance of human affection. Therefore, this study aims to determine difference in the effects of listening to the Al-Quran and music on sensibility. A quasi-experimental method was used by forming 2 groups of participants, each consisting of 4 individuals. The first group listened to music, while the second listened to the Al-Quran and read the translation. Participants were placed in an isolation room to take part in the experimental process. Sensibility was then measured with Sensirec before the treatment was given. In the music treatment group, instrumental music with the title Pachelbel Major in D was played. Meanwhile, in the other group, the participants were asked to listen to the Al-Quran and read the translation of Surah al-Insān. After treatment, sensibility was measured again using Sensirec, and an attention check questionnaire was filled out. The results showed that the effects of decreasing arousal (deactivation) were stronger and more significant in the Al Quran group (η2=.833; p=.034), compared to the music group (η2=.183; p=.183). Low arousal positive affect showed feelings of calm, relaxation, and satisfaction. In addition, the situation could predict the well-being, mental health, and life satisfaction of the participants. Based on these results, the technique of listening to the Al-Quran could be developed as a more systematic part of Islamic psychotherapy.

Abstract

A student in general definitely needs adjustment to the new environment in his boarding school. Where this will be a challenge for them to be able to adjust to the existing. This study aims to determine the effect of self-regulation and religiosity on self-adjustment in female students at Pondok Modern Darul Hikmah.. This study used a causal-comparative quantitative method, with a sample size of 150 participants who were selected based on a purposive sampling technique. Data analysis in this study used multiple linear regression analysis techniques. The results of the hypothesis testing that has been done show R Square or a coefficient of determination of .321, which is interpreted that the variables of self-regulation and religiosity simultaneously have an impact on the self-adjustment variable. And based on the f test performed, it is known that the value of Sig. .000 <.05 indicates that self regulation and religiosity variables simultaneously affect self adjustment variables. Thus it can be concluded that simultaneously self-regulation and religiosity have an impact on self adjustment

Abstract

When they are at the final level of completing their studies, there are many conditions that make students feel hopeless. However, as Muslims, there are many conditions that enable students to survive this despair. The aim of this research is to look at the role of trust and peer attachment as predictors of hopelessness in final year Muslim students. A quantitative research design was used involving 375 Muslim students who were at the final level of college. Multiple regression data analysis was tested on the proposed hypothesis with significance results below 5%. This means that there is an influence of trust and peer attachment on hopelessness in final year Muslim students. This study has implications for strengthening trust in Allah and strengthening positive relationships with peers as one of the best ways to avoid situations of hopelessness when working on final assignments.

Abstract

This research aims to understand the balance between family and organization among women activists of the Islamic Community Organization (Ormas) of the Special Region of Yogyakarta. This research uses a qualitative approach with an Interpretative Phenomenological Analysis (IPA) design. Eight women who had been active in the organization for at least five years were the participants. Data were collected using semi-structured interviews and recorded with audio recording. The research results show that female mass organization activists feel capable of helping, amar ma'ruf nahi munkar, serving the people, and being valuable people. Participants received family support from husbands and parents. Husbands support participants in being committed to the organization and willing to share roles in household matters and childcare. Meanwhile, support from parents takes the form of encouragement to continue being active in the organization and helping to look after children when participants are active. For women with dual roles in the family and organization, social support is essential to balance roles in the family and organization.

Abstract

This study aims to examine the effect of empathy on religious conflict, using Gaza as a case study. The method employed was simple regression analysis on a sample of 151 Muslim students aged 18-25 years. This research applied a quantitative approach with a cross-sectional design to analyze the relationship between variables. The results indicate that empathy significantly affects religious conflict, with a coefficient value of sig = .000 (p < .05). These findings suggest that empathy can be one of the factors in reducing tensions between groups in religious contexts. However, this study is limited to a student sample and a single case context, so the results must be generalised cautiously. Future research should expand the demographic scope and consider other socio-cultural factors to gain a more comprehensive understanding. These findings are expected to contribute to developing empathy-based interventions to reduce tensions in religious and social contexts.
