Abstract

This study aims to determine effective promotional strategies to enhance the appeal of cultural tourism and analyze the application of digital media in promoting cultural tourism packages in Tana Toa Kajang Village, Bulukumba Regency. This village is a traditional area with strong and unique cultural potential, but still faces various challenges in terms of tourism promotion. This study used a qualitative approach. Data collection techniques were carried out through in-depth interviews, field observations, and documentation. Research informants consisted of tourism managers, traditional leaders, local business actors, and tourists. Data were analyzed using the interactive model of Miles and Huberman (2010), which includes data reduction, data presentation, and conclusion drawing. The results of the study indicate that the promotional strategies implemented are still conventional and not optimally structured. However, there are efforts to use social media such as Instagram and TikTok to introduce cultural attractions and tourist activities to a wider audience. However, limited human resources and digital infrastructure remain obstacles to the development of digital media-based promotions. With the right and culture-based promotional approach, Tana Toa Kajang Village has the potential to become a leading cultural tourism destination in South Sulawesi.

Abstract

This study analyzes the dynamics of poverty and unemployment in the Kedungsepur National Strategic Area (KSN) during the 2013–2023 period within the framework of regional economic resilience and development policy. A descriptive quantitative approach was employed using secondary data from Statistics Indonesia (BPS) and the Regional Development Planning Agency (Bappeda) of Central Java, covering six administrative areas: Semarang City, Salatiga City, and the Regencies of Semarang, Demak, Kendal, and Grobogan. The analysis was conducted through socio-economic trend calculations and Pearson correlation tests among regional economic indicators, including Regional Own-Source Revenue (PAD), the Human Development Index (HDI), Regional Minimum Wage (UMR), poverty rate, and open unemployment rate (TPT). The results indicate that the average poverty rate decreased from 10.65% in 2013 to 8.20% in 2023, while the unemployment rate decreased from 6.01% to 4.93%. However, Semarang Regency experienced a slight increase in unemployment (from 3.9% to 4.05%), indicating a jobless growth phenomenon. The correlation between HDI and poverty shows a very strong negative correlation (r = –0.976), implying that improved human quality significantly contributes to poverty reduction. Conversely, the positive correlation between minimum wage and unemployment (r = 0.795) suggests that wage increases without productivity improvements may reduce employment absorption. The findings emphasize that economic growth in Kedungsepur remains non-inclusive, being concentrated in urban and capital-intensive sectors. Therefore, a resilience-oriented development and Local Economic Development (LED) approach is required to promote economic diversification, enhance workforce skills, and ensure equitable distribution of development benefits. The study contributes to the formulation of regional development policies that are equitable, resilient, and sustainable.

Abstract

This study aims to analyze the effect of teachers’ work motivation on learning community activities at junior high schools in Sub Rayon 04, Grobogan Regency. The research employed a quantitative approach with a correlational design, involving a population of 215 teachers and a sample of 140 teachers selected using proportional random sampling. Data were collected through a closed-ended Likert-scale questionnaire and analyzed using simple linear regression with the assistance of SPSS for Windows version 28. The results showed that teachers’ work motivation was in the good category, indicating that most teachers had a positive drive in performing their duties. Statistical analysis revealed a very strong relationship between work motivation and learning community activities, with a correlation coefficient of 0.785 and a coefficient of determination of 0.564, meaning that 56.4% of the variation in learning community activities was influenced by work motivation, while 43.6% was affected by other factors beyond this study. The regression equation obtained was Ŷ = 31.133 + 0.781X, with a significance value of 0.000 < 0.05, indicating that work motivation has a positive and significant effect on learning community activities. High teacher motivation, whether stemming from internal factors such as responsibility, job satisfaction, and the desire to develop competencies, or from external factors such as principal support and a conducive work environment, has been proven to encourage greater teacher participation in learning communities. Teachers with strong motivation tend to be more active in sharing knowledge, engaging in discussions, and developing instructional innovations.

Abstract

This study aims to design a lounge chair that blends local cultural values with a modern style by transforming the form of the Pancasila shield and the concept of Indonesian royal thrones into the design of a Bohemian-style Shield of Throne chair. The method used is Research-Based Design, consisting of four stages: contextual understanding, participatory design, product design, and prototype as a hypothesis. The design process is supported by the ATUMICS method, which emphasizes the integration of traditional and modern elements to create a contemporary product that still represents cultural values. The main materials used include teak wood, rattan, and polyester fabric, chosen for their strength, aesthetics, and practicality. The research results in a chair prototype showing that the integration of traditional forms with modern styles can produce furniture that is not only functional but also holds symbolic and aesthetic value, while remaining relevant to the needs of urban society. Thus, this design contributes to cultural preservation while also offering innovative and competitive furniture.

Abstract

The Academy of Hospital Administration Mataram (AARS) faces significant challenges in its recruitment process, which is often time-consuming and heavily reliant on the subjectivity of decision-makers, particularly during the initial screening and interview stages. A major difficulty lies in selecting candidates who align with academic and administrative needs in the absence of an integrated technological system. The implementation of Artificial Intelligence (AI) has the potential to enhance efficiency by conducting preliminary screenings, evaluating applicants’ suitability based on data, and recommending the most appropriate candidates. The aim of this study is to evaluate the potential implementation of AI-based recruitment models in the selection process of lecturers and educational staff at AARS, with a particular focus on examining AI’s role in reducing bias in recruitment. This research employed a qualitative evaluative method using a case study approach at AARS. Data were collected through participatory observation, in-depth interviews, documentation studies, and Focus Group Discussions (FGDs) to assess the effectiveness of AI in the recruitment process. Data analysis was carried out through data reduction, data display, source triangulation, and conclusion drawing. The findings reveal that AI-based recruitment at AARS significantly improves the effectiveness of the selection process for lecturers and educational staff. Furthermore, AI supports the enhancement of human resource quality because selected candidates are more aligned with organizational needs. Nevertheless, this study also identified several challenges, including infrastructure readiness, digital literacy among stakeholders, as well as regulatory and ethical considerations.

Abstract

The United States' (US) withdrawal from the Paris Agreement in 2017 had a significant impact on global climate policy and international diplomacy. This decision surprised many, considering the importance of the international accord in the global effort to address climate change. This study aims to analyze the impact of the US withdrawal and the response of other countries to these changes, as well as examine its influence on global environmental political stability. This research employed a qualitative method with a case study approach of President Donald Trump's 2017 decision and a literature review to gain a deeper understanding of the phenomenon. The decision worsened tensions between the US and major countries such as the European Union (EU) and China, while also eroding trust in the US's role in multilateral diplomacy. Nevertheless, the findings show that other countries, such as the EU and China, strengthened their commitments to carbon emission reductions and renewable energy, and even developing countries focused on domestic climate policies. This indicates that other countries remain committed to more ambitious climate policies, leading to the emergence of a more decentralized global governance pattern

Abstract

Digital developments in the banking sector have led to innovations such as mobile banking and fintech. Bank Jago is a technology-based bank in Indonesia. Although digital literacy is increasing, digital bank account ownership among Generations Z and Y remains low. This study uses the Technology Acceptance Model (TAM) framework to analyze the factors that influence the intention to use Bank Jago's digital services, without comparing between generations. Data was collected through an online survey using convenience sampling of 230 Generation Z and Y respondents in Indonesia, using a 1–5 Likert scale questionnaire. The results show that perceived usefulness, perceived ease of use, trust, attitude, and convenience have a positive effect on intention to use, while trust has a negative effect on attitude. These findings emphasize the importance of perceived usefulness, ease of use, trust, convenience, and attitude in encouraging the adoption of digital banking services.

Abstract

This study aims to analyze the perception of Generation Z regarding the use of podcasts as a learning medium to improve English listening skills. This study uses a descriptive qualitative approach with a case study design and involves students from the English Education Study Program at Mulawarman University who are part of Generation Z. Data were collected through a closed-ended questionnaire analyzed descriptively, and in-depth interviews analyzed using thematic analysis. The results indicate that most students have positive perceptions of podcast use, particularly regarding ease of access, increased learning motivation, vocabulary enrichment, and the effectiveness of podcasts in supporting listening skills. However, some students faced challenges such as limited internet connectivity and a lack of experience in regularly using podcasts. Based on the interviews, it was also found that engaging content types, such as viral issues, education, and general knowledge, were the main attractions for students. These findings indicate that podcasts are a potential and suitable learning medium for Generation Z, particularly in the context of English language learning in the digital age.
