Abstract

Plastic packaging remains a critical yet controversial component of modern supply chains, offering economic efficiencies while posing significant environmental challenges. This study conducts a systematic literature review to explore how artificial intelligence (AI), automation, and machine learning (ML) can enhance plastic production processes, minimize waste, and promote sustainability. Key findings indicate that AI enables smarter material selection, design optimization, and energy-efficient manufacturing, addressing economic upside risks such as cost reduction and operational efficiency. Concurrently, AI mitigates environmental downside risks by improving recycling rates, reducing CO₂ emissions, and minimizing plastic pollution through advanced sorting and predictive analytics. Despite these benefits, challenges remain, including substantial implementation expenses, limited adoption among small and medium enterprises (SMEs), and insufficient data availability. The research emphasizes the necessity for balanced regulatory frameworks and technological investments to align economic objectives with ecological preservation. By consolidating current knowledge, this paper offers actionable insights for stakeholders navigating the complexities of plastic packaging within a circular economy framework, positioning AI as a pivotal tool in achieving sustainable equilibrium.

Abstract

This study explores the impact of discipline training conducted in a military barrack setting on young adults behavioral transformation in response to rising juvenile delinquency and weakening personal discipline among Indonesian youth, particularly in Depok, West Java. The program, implemented by Yonif Dirgahayu 328, incorporates physical training, national value reinforcement, and structured character development within a disciplined, regimented environment. Implementing a qualitative phenomenological approach, the study examines how this intervention shapes responsibility, leadership, and patriotism among young adults aged 13–15. Data were gathered through semi-structured interviews, focus group discussions, and participant observation involving students, parents, teachers, military instructors, and program coordinators. Thematic analysis identified notable behavioral changes such as improved time management, greater respect for authority, enhanced collaboration, and emotional regulation. Despite these gains, participants faced challenges in sustaining disciplined behavior post-program, particularly when returning to unsupportive home or school environments. The findings underscore the importance of sustained reinforcement from families and educational institutions to ensure long-term internalization of the values instilled during the training. While discipline in a military barrack presents a promising alternative for character education, its effectiveness relies on adaptive, collaborative support systems involving educators, caregivers, and policy stakeholders.

Abstract

This study aims to evaluate the performance of the protocol and leadership communication division of the regional secretariat of Hulu Sungai Utara Regency in 2025, focusing on the effectiveness of the protocol and communication functions in supporting responsive and transparent governance. This study uses a qualitative descriptive approach with a case study method, involving one researcher and six informants, consisting of one Head of Section, one Head of Subsection, two protocol staff, and two aides. The study was conducted from September to October 2025. The data were collected through in-depth interviews, observations, and literature studies and validated using source triangulation, member checks, and audit trails. The results of the study indicate that performance is in the good category in the aspects of productivity, responsiveness, and accountability, but is still weak in service quality and responsibility due to limited human resources, infrastructure, and budget. These findings confirm that improving bureaucratic performance is determined not only by the availability of resources but also by the effectiveness of internal coordination and managerial support. Theoretically, this study enriches the literature on public bureaucratic performance evaluation and recommends improving employee competency, providing adequate infrastructure, and implementing digital evaluation to strengthen the effectiveness of public services. The results of this study can be a basis for local governments in formulating policies to improve the performance of bureaucratic organizations that are more adaptive, efficient, and oriented toward quality public services.

Abstract

A person who has a mental disorder will experience a decrease in productivity so that they will experience obstacles in carrying out daily activities, social relationships, and get rejection from their surroundings. The family will become the primary caregiver who will play a role in preventing, overcoming, and restoring the condition of the ODGJ family. The role of family caregivers has many burdens that are felt such as stress and feelings of shame with negative stigma about ODGJ so that it will cause physical, emotional, and psychological disorders, one of which is their quality of life. The purpose of the study was to determine the effectiveness of support group therapy to improve the quality of life of family caregivers in ODGJ. This study used a one group before - after (pretest - posttest) design, with five participants. The intervention given was Support Group Therapy which consisted of six intervention sessions. Support Group Therapy is able to overcome and provide emotional support between its members so that it will reduce the burden felt by caregivers and improve the quality of life as family caregivers. The measuring instrument used was the AC-Qol (Adult Carer Quality of life Questionnaire) from Joseph et al. (2017) which has been adapted into Indonesian by Ligina Ayudia in 2020. The results obtained were analyzed using the Wilcoxon Signed Rank Test and obtained an asymp value of 0.043 <0.05 and N-Gain of 60.26% and the highest changes were in the aspects of personal growth and caring stress. So it can be said that Support Group Therapy is quite effective in improving the quality of life of family caregivers in People with Mental Disorders (ODGJ).

Abstract

This research aims to provide an understanding of Activity-Based Costing (ABC) and its implications for profitability, with the quality of management information as a moderating variable.  This study uses a Systematic Literature Review (SLR) approach to articles indexed by Scopus Q1–Q4 and Sinta 2–Sinta 5 in the period 2010–2025.  The results of the study show that the results of the Systematic Literature Review of 76 articles show that Activity-Based Costing (ABC) has a positive and significant effect on company profitability.  This system increases the accuracy of cost information, operational efficiency and more competitive pricing strategies, thereby strengthening financial performance such as NPM, ROA and ROE.  Quality Management Information (KIM) is proven to strengthen the relationship between Activity-Based Costing (ABC) and profitability by increasing the reliability and understandability of cost data.  When the quality of information is high, the results of Activity-Based Costing (ABC) are more effectively used for strategic decision making, efficiency and increasing company value.

Abstract

Public sector management accounting has evolved from an administrative function into a strategic instrument that enhances efficiency, accountability, and sustainability in governance. This study systematically analyzes the impact of Management Accounting Practices (MAPs) on the social, economic, and environmental dimensions of the public sector. Using the Systematic Literature Review (SLR) method based on PRISMA guidelines, 37 Scopus-indexed articles published between 2015 and 2025 were reviewed. The findings reveal that MAPs improve resource efficiency and budget effectiveness (economic aspect), strengthen accountability and public participation (social aspect), and support the implementation of sustainability accounting and green governance (environmental aspect). Digital transformation further enhances MAPs through data-based reporting and transparent performance monitoring. However, bureaucratic resistance, limited resources, and political influence remain major challenges in developing countries. Overall, MAPs serve as a strategic foundation for achieving efficient, accountable, and sustainable public sector governance.

Abstract

21st-century education demands the development of higher-order thinking skills (HOTS) in students through contextual, collaborative, and technology-based learning. The material on reaction rates in chemistry is often challenging for students due to its abstract and complex nature, thus requiring innovative learning media to support conceptual understanding and HOTS development. This study aims to analyze the need for interactive multimedia development on reaction rate material to foster HOTS in 11th-grade high school students, focusing on students, teachers, media, facilities, and curriculum integration. The research method used is descriptive qualitative, involving questionnaires, interviews, and observations of 100 students and 1 chemistry teacher at SMA N 2 Sungai Selan. The results showed that students' need for interactive multimedia reached 92.79% (very needed category), especially to understand abstract concepts and increase learning motivation. Teachers' need for HOTS-based learning media reached 80.00% (very needed category), with existing potential that still requires improvement in its implementation. Students' readiness to use digital devices and the availability of school facilities support the development of interactive media. Based on these findings, developing HOTS-based interactive multimedia on reaction rate material is essential to enhance students' conceptual understanding, active involvement, and high-level thinking skills.

Abstract

This research discusses the communication strategies of students from Sumatra in facing culture shock at Sunan Kalijaga State Islamic University Yogyakarta. Differences in culture, language, and social norms between their hometown and the new environment often cause confusion and anxiety for migrant students. This study uses a qualitative method, with primary data from interviews and observations, and secondary data from supporting documents. The results show that the students adaptation process goes through four main stages: the honeymoon phase (feeling excited and happy in the new environment), the culture shock phase, the recovery phase (starting to open up, understand the culture, and build relationships), and the adjustment phase (being able to accept and feel comfortable with the local culture). The communication strategies used by the students include choosing the right messages according to the Javanese cultural context, adjusting their communication style to be more polite, and joining communities as a form of social support. In addition, the study found that culture shock affects three aspects: affective (emotions) such as confusion, anxiety, and sadness, behavioral, such as efforts to learn local habits and cognitive, such as changes in thinking patterns caused by differences in language and values. Even though it was full of challenges, Sumatra students were able to develop effective communication strategies, which helped them adapt and live their academic and social life better in Yogyakarta
