Abstract

Micro, Small, and Medium Enterprises (MSMEs) play a strategic role in supporting regional economic growth, including in Bungo Regency, Jambi Province. However, limited market access and low digital adoption remain major challenges in improving their income. This study aims to examine the influence of live shopping and social commerce on MSME income, as well as to analyze the role of the paylater feature as a moderating variable. A quantitative research approach was employed with survey data collected from 100 MSME actors actively utilizing digital platforms. Data analysis was conducted using Partial Least Squares–Structural Equation Modeling (PLS-SEM) with SmartPLS 4 software. The results reveal that live shopping has a positive and significant effect on MSME income, both directly and indirectly through social commerce as a mediating variable. Likewise, social commerce positively and significantly contributes to increasing MSME income. In contrast, the paylater feature shows no significant effect on MSME income and does not function as a moderating variable in the relationship between live shopping and income. Overall, this study highlights that digital marketing strategies based on live shopping and social commerce serve as effective instruments for enhancing MSME income in the digital economy era. The findings are expected to provide both theoretical contributions and practical implications for policymakers and stakeholders in designing adaptive MSME empowerment strategies aligned with technological developments.

Abstract

This study aims to evaluate the implementation of safety standards in the debarkation and embarkation process of the R-72 seatoll vessel at anchorage in Sofyanin Village. The research employed a qualitative case study design, utilizing field observations, interviews, questionnaires, and literature review. The findings indicate that passenger safety is influenced by three main dimensions: structural–policy, operational, and cultural. Structurally, the absence of a permanent pier and lack of regulatory oversight are the dominant factors increasing risks. Operationally, the captain’s ability to determine anchorage points and the limited availability of safety equipment serve as critical challenges. Culturally, low public awareness of safety procedures further exacerbates vulnerabilities. Evaluation against international standards (SOLAS, STCW, ISM Code, LSA Code) and national regulations (Law No. 17/2008, MoT Regulation No. 11/2023) reveals significant gaps between requirements and actual practices. The risk matrix analysis shows that most hazards, such as passengers falling overboard, capsizing of small transfer boats, and injuries from gangways, fall under the High–Extreme category. Therefore, this study recommends strengthening regulatory oversight, providing safety facilities in compliance with standards, and promoting safety culture awareness among local communities to minimize maritime accident risks.

Abstract

This study was motivated by the increasing use of social media, which not only provides benefits but also creates negative impacts on mental health, including eating disorder tendencies. The aim of this research was to examine the relationship between social media addiction and eating disorder tendencies among adolescents and young adults. A quantitative survey method was employed by distributing questionnaires to purposively selected respondents. The results revealed a significant positive correlation between social media addiction and eating disorder tendencies, indicating that individuals with higher levels of social media addiction are more likely to develop unhealthy eating behaviors such as strict dieting, binge eating, and body dissatisfaction. Gender and duration of social media use were identified as factors that reinforced this relationship. The study concludes that preventive measures through media literacy education, psychological support, and public health interventions are essential to reduce the negative impacts of excessive social media use.

Abstract

Hospitals are health service institutions with a high risk of occupational accidents and work-related diseases. The complexity of services, the use of advanced technology, and the involvement of various healthcare professionals require the sustainable implementation of Occupational Safety and Health (K3) culture. However, many hospitals still face challenges in its implementation, particularly regarding workers’ awareness, management support, and work environment conditions. This study aims to analyze the influence of these three factors on the implementation of K3 culture at RSUD dr. Kanujoso Djatiwibowo Balikpapan. This research employed a quantitative approach with a survey design. The sample was obtained using proportional random sampling of healthcare and support staff. Data were collected using a Likert-scale questionnaire tested for validity and reliability. The data were analyzed using multiple linear regression. The results indicate that individual awareness, management support, and work environment significantly influence the implementation of K3 culture, both partially and simultaneously. Workers’ awareness contributes to compliance with procedures, management support plays a role in providing policies and resources, while the physical and psychosocial work environment supports the development of safe. In conclusion, strengthening K3 culture requires integrating psychological, organizational, and ergonomic dimensions. The study suggests that hospital management enhance continuous training, strengthen supervision, provide safe work facilities, and embed K3 culture as a core organizational value. These efforts are expected to reduce occupational accidents and diseases while improving productivity and service quality.

Abstract

This study aims to identify the English language skill needs of tourism practitioners in Bolaang Mongondow Regency to support regional tourism development. The research employed a qualitative descriptive method using a needs analysis approach, strengthened with a SWOT analysis. Data were collected through questionnaires, semi-structured interviews, and observations involving 50 tourism practitioners. The findings reveal that most practitioners possess limited English proficiency, particularly in speaking and listening. Demographic factors, most participants being over 50 years old and only educated up to senior high school, contribute to the low level of competence. The study further shows that the most essential skills are speaking for tourism services, listening for understanding international visitors’ requests, and mastering tourism-specific vocabulary. Based on these results, a preliminary English training model was designed within the framework of English for Specific Purposes (ESP), emphasizing simulations, role-play, and contextual vocabulary enrichment. SWOT analysis was applied to ensure the training design not only addresses existing weaknesses but also leverages local strengths while opening opportunities for tourism development.

Abstract

This study examines the effectiveness of scarcity-based marketing strategies in triggering Fear of Missing Out (FOMO) and its impact on online purchasing decisions through TikTok Shop among Generation Z in Palu, Indonesia. This research employed a quantitative methodology with a descriptive-verification strategy. Data were collected from 150 Generation Z respondents who had shopped at TikTok Shop and were exposed to the limited quantity label, using a purposive sampling approach. Data analysis was conducted through Partial Least Squares Structural Equation Modeling (PLS-SEM) using SmartPLS 4.0. The findings indicate that the minimum quantity remains, exerting a beneficial and significant influence on FOMO and purchase decisions. FOMO positively impacts purchase decisions and mediates the correlation between minimum availability and purchase choice. The combination of Only Few Left and FOMO explains 80.5% of the variation in online purchasing decisions. These findings confirm that real-time stock scarcity signals effectively trigger emotional responses and drive impulse buying behavior among Generation Z, thus providing practical implications for optimizing marketing strategies on social commerce platforms.

Abstract

Occupational health and safety (OHS) is essential for ensuring safe and sustainable operations, especially in high-risk industries such as the gas sector. PT Kalimantan Jawa Gas (KJG), a company engaged in natural gas transmission between Kalimantan and Java, faces operational challenges including potential gas leaks, explosions, and exposure to hazardous substances. Despite initiatives such as management visits, safety culture campaigns, and OHS audits, field data indicate ongoing issues with employee compliance in using personal protective equipment and reporting near-miss incidents. This study examines the influence of organizational culture and corporate commitment on OHS culture and its effect on employee performance at PT Kalimantan Jawa Gas. Data were collected using structured questionnaires administered to 51 permanent employees through saturated sampling and analyzed using Partial Least Squares (PLS) via SmartPLS software. The results show that organizational culture significantly affects employee performance but not OHS culture, while corporate commitment significantly influences OHS culture but not employee performance. OHS culture, in turn, has a significant positive impact on employee performance. The study concludes that enhancing employee performance requires strengthening organizational culture and fostering a strong OHS culture through committed workplace safety practices, continuous training, leadership role modeling, and consistent monitoring.

Abstract

Village financial management in Indonesia still faces significant obstacles, particularly in aspects of transparency, accountability, and efficiency. In Kampar Regency, Riau Province, the amount of village fund allocation has continued to rise, reaching approximately Rp156.5 billion in 2024. However, this increase has not been free from issues, especially related to monitoring mechanisms and the managerial capacity of village officials. To overcome these challenges, the government introduced the Village Financial System (SISKEUDES), a digital platform designed to facilitate bookkeeping, reporting, and financial oversight at the village level. This research aims to evaluate how SISKEUDES has been applied within the Community and Village Empowerment Office (DPMD) of Kampar Regency. A descriptive qualitative method was employed, combined with SWOT analysis. Data sources were obtained through field observations, document review, and interviews with key informants. Findings indicate that all villages (100%) in Kampar Regency have already adopted SISKEUDES. Nonetheless, its practical use has not reached the expected level due to several obstacles, such as weak internet connectivity, limited digital skills among village apparatus, and delays in certain technical operations. The SWOT analysis highlights strengths, including regulatory backing and full coverage of SISKEUDES implementation, while weaknesses include inadequate infrastructure and human resource capacity. Opportunities were found in the form of strong national policy direction and ongoing advances in digital technology, whereas threats involved risks to data security and reluctance from some local officials. Based on these results, the recommended strategies are: improving staff competence through continuous training, enhancing ICT infrastructure, enforcing standardized operating procedures (SOPs), and strengthening data protection. From a practical perspective, this study contributes directly to DPMD Kampar by supporting better monitoring of the village budget (APBDes) and encouraging greater citizen engagement. Theoretically, it enriches the discourse on digital-based public financial management systems at the local governance level.
