Abstract

Organic waste management in Gintangan Village, Blimbingsari District, Banyuwangi, has not been fully optimized, as some household organic waste is still disposed of without prior sorting, while dry yard waste is often burned in open spaces. These practices reduce the opportunity to reuse organic materials and may contribute to local environmental problems. This community service program aimed to improve residents’ basic knowledge and practical skills, particularly among housewives, in processing household organic waste into eco enzyme and liquid organic fertilizer (POC) using a simple circular economy approach. The program was conducted through socialization, hands-on training, and direct assistance. Evaluation was carried out through observation, pre-test and post-test instruments, and organoleptic assessment of the fermented products. A total of 20 participants were involved in the activity. The initial assessment indicated that 90% of participants had limited understanding of how kitchen waste could be processed into fermentation-based products. After the training, 90% of participants were able to correctly explain and apply the 1:3:10 ratio commonly used in eco enzyme production. Participants also produced eco enzyme and POC and were able to identify basic indicators of successful fermentation, such as aroma, color, and absence of mold contamination. The results suggest that household organic waste has the potential to be processed into useful  products at the household scale. This program also introduced an integrated use of green and brown organic waste as a practical effort to reduce yard waste burning and promote the reuse of locally available organic resources.

Abstract

This study aims to examine the use of Ijen Geopark in Bondowoso, East Java as a learning space that supports deep learning within the implementation of the Merdeka Curriculum. Despite its strong potential, the educational use of geoparks is often limited, fragmented, and still dominated by tourism and conservation perspectives, with few studies explaining how geoparks function pedagogically to facilitate deep learning in school contexts. The geopark, consisting of geosites, biosites, and cultural sites, is therefore explored as a living laboratory that integrates science, ecology, and culture. This research employed a qualitative case study approach. Data were collected through field and classroom observations, in-depth interviews with teachers, students, and geopark managers, as well as document analysis, and were analyzed thematically through coding and categorization processes. The findings show that geopark-based learning strengthens students’ critical thinking, ecological awareness, collaboration, and meaningful conceptual understanding. In addition, learning activities encourage interdisciplinary connections and authentic learning experiences relevant to the Merdeka Curriculum. However, several challenges were identified, including unequal teacher readiness, limited facilities at some learning sites, and logistical constraints. In conclusion, Ijen Geopark has strong potential to function as a sustainable living laboratory that supports deep learning and interdisciplinary education. This study contributes to the development of a practical model of geopark-based deep learning and emphasizes the need for stronger institutional, pedagogical, and infrastructural support to optimize its implementation.

Abstract

This study aims to determine the effect of the scramble learning model on historical thinking skills in history lessons in grade X at SMA Negeri 30 Tangerang Regency. The research method used in this study was a quantitative method with a quasi-experimental design, involving two classes, namely a control class and an experimental class. The Non-Equivalent Control Group Design was used, which involved pre-tests and post-tests in both the control and experimental classes. The instrument used was a test (multiple choice) with five indicators of historical thinking skills. This study was conducted in class X.1, which had 36 students as the control class, and class X.6, which had 36 students as the experimental class. The results of the study are as follows: (1) there is an effect of the scramble learning model on students' historical thinking skills, hypothesis testing through a two-tailed t-test using the pooled variance formula with a significance level of α = 0. 05 yielded a t-value of 2,89 > the t-table value of 1,667 with a total value of 1,223, so Ha was accepted and H0 was rejected. (2) The historical thinking skills of students who used the scramble learning model were higher than those of students who used the discovery learning model. The average posttest score for the experimental class was 68,33, and for the control class it was 64,72. It can be concluded that the experimental class had a higher average score than the control class. The scramble learning model can be used as an alternative for history learning at SMA Negeri 30 Tangerang Regency. In implementing the scramble learning model, students are involved in groups to match or pair answers to form the correct answers to the teacher's questions, which is effective in increasing student activity and cooperation.

Abstract

The rapid advancement of technology and globalization requires educational systems to equip students with strong literacy and numeracy competencies as foundational skills for critical thinking and problem-solving. However, international assessments such as PISA indicate that Indonesian students’ literacy and numeracy performance remains relatively low. This study aims to examine the role of Problem-Based Learning (PBL) as an instructional approach for enhancing students’ literacy and numeracy skills. This research employs a literature review method by systematically analyzing relevant national and international journal articles obtained from databases such as Google Scholar, SINTA, and indexed international publishers. The analysis focuses on the conceptual framework of literacy and numeracy, the characteristics and syntax of the PBL model, and key factors influencing its implementation in classroom practice. The findings indicate that Problem-Based Learning effectively promotes literacy and numeracy development through student-centered, collaborative, and contextual learning processes. PBL engages students in interpreting textual and numerical information, analyzing real-world problems, processing data, and communicating solutions logically. Teachers function as facilitators who guide inquiry, encourage critical reflection, and support meaningful learning experiences. This study concludes that Problem-Based Learning represents a sustainable instructional strategy for strengthening literacy and numeracy competencies and fostering a culture of critical thinking in contemporary education.

Abstract

This article examines the role of organizational culture in public sector development through innovative organizational practices. The public sector is increasingly required to improve performance, accountability, and service quality amid complex governance challenges. Organizational culture is widely recognized as a critical internal factor influencing organizational behavior and performance; however, it is often treated as a static supporting variable rather than a dynamic process of change. This study employs a qualitative approach using a critical literature review to analyze scholarly publications published between 2021 and 2025. The literature was sourced from national and international journals through databases such as Google Scholar, Scopus, and accredited SINTA journals. The analysis was conducted using a critical thematic approach to identify dominant themes, conceptual patterns, and limitations in existing studies. The findings indicate that organizational culture plays a significant role in shaping public sector performance, adaptability, and innovation capacity. Nevertheless, most studies have not fully integrated organizational culture as an embedded and transformative process linked to innovative organizational practices. This article highlights the need for a more holistic analytical framework that connects cultural change with sustainable innovation to support long-term public sector development.
