Abstract

Jamu Nifas is a traditional herbal medicine that is made from the original recipe of the ancestors of Madura, from herbal plants. The purpose of this study was to determine the relationship of herbal medicine consumption in postpartum women with the incidence of diarrhea in infants aged 7-40 days. The type of research used was correlation analytic with a cross sectional approach, the population of postpartum mothers who had babies was 41, the sample was determined according to simple random sampling as many as 38 postpartum mothers who had babies, using the independent variable of herbal medicine consumption in postpartum mothers and the dependent variable of diarrhea incidence in infants aged 7-40 days. Using Fisher's Exact Test statistical test at the degree of significance α = 0.05.The results showed that almost all (92.3%) of the 24 mothers who consumed herbal medicine had diarrhea. The results of the Fisher's Exact Test statistical test show the value (ρ) = 0.000 0.05, then H0 is rejected, meaning that there is a relationship between the consumption of herbal medicine in postpartum mothers with the incidence of diarrhea in infants aged 7-40 days. Based on the results of the study, it is concluded that mothers who consume herbal medicine during the postpartum period can cause diarrhea in infants. Because of the hygine factor that is less clean and the content of spices that are too hot. In order to minimize the factors that cause babies to experience diarrhea, mothers should not carelessly consume food and drinks, especially in choosing traditional herbs that do not harm mothers and babies. If you want to consume herbal medicine, you should precipitate it first and then drink it clearly.

Abstract

The elbow joint is the joint between the humerus and radioulna. One of the disorders that occurs in the musculoskeletal system is a fracture. A fracture is an event that breaks the continuity of bone tissue. One action that can be taken to treat bone fractures is surgery, open reduction internal fixation. One of the supporting examinations to see the condition of the bones after the open reduction internal fixation procedure is a radiological examination with conventional radiography. The aim of this research is to determine the procedure for radiographic examination of elbow joints in cases of post open reduction internal fixation in the Radiology Installation of Kendal District Hospital. The type of research used is descriptive qualitative research with a case study approach. The research results obtained were that the radiographic examination procedure for the elbow joint in post open reduction internal fixation cases did not require any special patient preparation, the patient was only asked to remove objects in the elbow joint area to be examined so as not to interfere with the radiograph results such as elastic bandage locks. Tools and materials used in the examination include an x-ray machines, examination table, imaging plate measuring 18x24 cm, a chair for the patient to sit in and a computed radiography device. The projections used are anteroposterior projection and lateral projection.

Abstract

Panoramic dental radiography uses X-rays to produce radiographs of the jaw and facial structures, from the teeth to the TMJ and the entire dental arch. Exposure to X-rays during an examination can be problematic because sensitive areas such as the thyroid gland and eyes adjacent to tooth structure also receive radiation exposure. Patients in panoramic examinations do not use eye radiation protection equipment for the orbit, namely Pb glasses, while the eyes are close to the dental arch which can receive radiation exposure, so eye radiation protection equipment is needed in panoramic examinations for patient safety. The aim of the research is to determine the function test and performance test of the Eye Radiation Protection Device. This type of research is quantitative research with an experimental approach. The research sample was 3 patients with variations of 3 kV: 70, 76, and 86 kV with a setting of 10 mA. The radiation dose to the eye was measured using a phantom and pocket dosimeter before and after using the radiation protection design tool, then looking for the average, difference and percentage and carrying out the Kruskal-Wallis spss test. The results of the three radiographs showed no artifacts, the exposure factor before using the device was 70 kV = 0.08 mSv, 76 kV = 0.17, 86 kV = 0.27 mSv while the radiation dose received after using the device with an exposure factor of 70 kV = 0 mSv, 76 kV = 0.86 kV = 0.003 mSv, while from the Kruskall-walls statistical test pre-test and post test kV 70 shows a significant value of 0.034 0.05, kV 76 does not show a significant value of 0.121 0.05, kV 86 shows a significant value of 0.043 0.05. The design of this eye radiation protection device has succeeded in reducing or reducing the radiation dose around the eyes by up to 100%. Meanwhile, the level of feasibility of the tool has a respondent score of 80%. Suggestions for using a thermoluminescence radiation measuring instrument (TLD) with smaller units, namely µSv.

Abstract

Introduction: Brushing teeth is an activity of maintaining oral hygiene by treating and cleaning teeth and mouth from food residue or plaque which is carried out mechanically with the aim of preventing disease from both hard and soft tissues in the mouth. A common disease caused by incorrect brushing of teeth is dental wear in the cervical part of the tooth, commonly referred to as tooth abrasion. Tooth abrasion is a condition where there is damage or loss (the occurrence of enamel erosion) on the surface of the cervical part or neck of the tooth. Clinically, the appearance of abrasion is divided into 2 forms of damage, namely V shaped and a wedge or trench shaped. The purpose of this study was to determine the effect of brushing techniques on cases of abrasion on the cervical teeth. This study uses a qualitative descriptive approach and the type of research used is literature/study literature. The data collection method used is derived from secondary data sources such as journals, books, scientific papers, theses, text books and scientific articles. The results showed that several researchers had conducted research on the effect of brushing techniques on cases of tooth abrasion and all of these studies showed that improper brushing habits could cause abrasion of the cervical teeth. Abstract

Breastfeeding is recommended because of its many benefits for both mother and baby. For mothers who have limitations breastfeeding, breastfeeding is difficult to do but also not impossible to do. The purpose of this study is to identify breastfeeding techniques used by mothers who have physical limitations based on existing literature. Literature search methods were conducted on scientific sites such as ScienceDirect, Pubmed, Elsiver, NCBI, DOAJ, Proquest, Microsoft Academic, Sage Journal, Oxford Academic, LIPI, ResearceGate, JSTOR and Scrib.id using the keywords breastfeeding and disability.  The search results obtained 234 articles but only 7 articles were used and described breastfeeding techniques for mothers with disabilities and other articles that were eliminated were not used because they did not describe breastfeeding techniques for mothers with disabilities. This article presents a literature review on breastfeeding techniques in mothers with disabilities. Breastfeeding is one of the best ways to provide nutrition to babies, but mothers with disabilities often face additional challenges that can affect their ability to breastfeed effectively. In this article, various relevant studies and research are analyzed to identify the challenges, needs, as well as solutions that have been developed to support mothers with disabilities in the breastfeeding process. The main focus of this review is on specific techniques that can make it easier for mothers with physical or cognitive disabilities to breastfeed, including the use of assistive devices, modification of breastfeeding positions, and the role of social and medical support. These findings demonstrate the importance of an inclusive and personalized approach to providing support to mothers with disabilities, as well as the need for more responsive health policies to ensure equal access to maternal health services. This article also underlines the need for further research to develop practical guidelines that can be applied in a variety of contexts.

Abstract

According to WHO, 77% of all deaths from NCDs and 85% of premature deaths occur in low- and middle-income countries. The main challenge in preventing and controlling NCDs is that the main drivers and risk factors including poverty, air pollution, lack of physical activity, and the marketing and sale of tobacco, alcohol, and processed foods are all outside the scope of control of government health departments or national health systems. The responsibility to address these underlying determinants lies with various government sectors and departments, such as education, labor, transportation, trade, finance, environment, agriculture, and manufacturing. NCDs in women have major implications, various complications during pregnancy, childbirth, and postpartum in mothers with NCDs trigger higher mortality and morbidity in mothers and children. This shows the need to initiate a program that integrates various parties in efforts to overcome NCDs in the community in the form of "ONE-FOUR". This program is called "ONE-FOUR" because it combines the roles of 4 elements, namely lecturers, students, cadres, and midwives to assist mothers or women of reproductive age with NCDs. Through intensive assistance from various components, it is expected to reduce complications of NCDs which ultimately have an impact on reducing maternal and child mortality. This study aims to analyze the effectiveness of the ONE FOUR programs on increasing knowledge and attitudes of reproductive-age mothers with NCDs. Method: Data analysis used dependent t-test aka paired t-test. Conclusion: knowledge score test value Sig. (2-tailed) 0.000 0.05. In the Attitude test value Sig. (2-tailed) 0.000 0.05 it can be concluded that the application of the ONE-FOUR method in women of childbearing age is effective in increasing knowledge and attitudes about NCDs.
