Abstract

Adolescence is a golden period with optimal growth and development. At this time, teenagers have very important physical and psychological needs. Moreover, if there is malnutrition, one of the problems is anemia. Anemia is a global public health problem that affects adolescent girls, women of childbearing age, pregnant women, and children in developed and developing countries. This study aims to analyze the correlation between inhibitor and enhancer consumption and anemia in adolescent girls. This is a cross-sectional study conducted in Semarang City. Early adolescents ages 10 – 15 years old, and fulfill the inclusion and exclusion criteria were selected using a questionnaire. Consumption of inhibitors and enhancers of iron was measured using a semi-qualitative food frequency questionnaire. Anemia status was measured using a digital hemoglobin meter device. The Chi-square test and Fisher’s exact test were used to analyze the research data. The result of this study shows there is no significant correlation between the consumption of inhibitors and enhancers of iron toward anemia status among adolescent girls with p-values 0.158 and 0.744 > α (CI:95%) respectively. Adolescents should be concerned about what they consume, and information about what food can enhance and obstruct iron should be socialized so they can wiser to reduce consuming inhibitors and increase consumption enhancers of iron.

Abstract

Based on WHO estimates, the unintended pregnancy rate in Indonesia is 40/1,000 women aged 15-49 years. PKBI clinic recorded 210 cases of unintended pregnancy from 2022 to 2024. These cases pose significant risks to maternal and child health. The high incidence of these cases necessitates the provision of high-quality services by health facilities. This is crucial to enhance patient satisfaction and improve service access. The objective of this study is to give an overview of the quality services evaluation for unintended pregnancy at PKBI Clinic. This study is a descriptive study using secondary data from the PKBI clinic based on monthly patient visits from 2022 to 2024.  The analysis uses a Run Chart and Control Chart. The results of the Run Chart analysis indicate the presence of common causes that remain under system control, whereas further analysis using Control Charts reveals the presence of special causes. These special causes are associated with patient surges at certain times and the impact of health education programs. However, to anticipate patient surges, the PKBI clinic is still lacking in human resources. This study concludes that Control Charts are more sensitive in detecting special causes due to the presence of control limits that can identify out-of-control data and detect small changes. The evaluation of service quality for unintended pregnancies at the PKBI clinic demonstrates good quality, but a lack of human resources can reduce this quality. Therefore, there is a need for additional staff, training, and better management of work schedules.

Abstract

Panoramic dental radiography uses X-rays to produce radiographs of the jaw and facial structures, from the teeth to the TMJ and the entire dental arch. Exposure to X-rays during an examination can be problematic because sensitive areas such as the thyroid gland and eyes adjacent to tooth structure also receive radiation exposure. Patients in panoramic examinations do not use eye radiation protection equipment for the orbit, namely Pb glasses, while the eyes are close to the dental arch which can receive radiation exposure, so eye radiation protection equipment is needed in panoramic examinations for patient safety. The aim of the research is to determine the function test and performance test of the Eye Radiation Protection Device. This type of research is quantitative research with an experimental approach. The research sample was 3 patients with variations of 3 kV: 70, 76, and 86 kV with a setting of 10 mA. The radiation dose to the eye was measured using a phantom and pocket dosimeter before and after using the radiation protection design tool, then looking for the average, difference and percentage and carrying out the Kruskal-Wallis spss test. The results of the three radiographs showed no artifacts, the exposure factor before using the device was 70 kV = 0.08 mSv, 76 kV = 0.17, 86 kV = 0.27 mSv while the radiation dose received after using the device with an exposure factor of 70 kV = 0 mSv, 76 kV = 0.86 kV = 0.003 mSv, while from the Kruskall-walls statistical test pre-test and post test kV 70 shows a significant value of 0.034 <0.05, kV 76 does not show a significant value of 0.121 > 0.05, kV 86 shows a significant value of 0.043 <0.05. The design of this eye radiation protection device has succeeded in reducing or reducing the radiation dose around the eyes by up to 100%. Meanwhile, the level of feasibility of the tool has a respondent score of 80%. Suggestions for using a thermoluminescence radiation measuring instrument (TLD) with smaller units, namely µSv.

Abstract

Jamu Nifas is a traditional herbal medicine that is made from the original recipe of the ancestors of Madura, from herbal plants. The purpose of this study was to determine the relationship of herbal medicine consumption in postpartum women with the incidence of diarrhea in infants aged 7-40 days. The type of research used was correlation analytic with a cross sectional approach, the population of postpartum mothers who had babies was 41, the sample was determined according to simple random sampling as many as 38 postpartum mothers who had babies, using the independent variable of herbal medicine consumption in postpartum mothers and the dependent variable of diarrhea incidence in infants aged 7-40 days. Using Fisher's Exact Test statistical test at the degree of significance α = 0.05.The results showed that almost all (92.3%) of the 24 mothers who consumed herbal medicine had diarrhea. The results of the Fisher's Exact Test statistical test show the value (ρ) = 0.000 <0.05, then H0 is rejected, meaning that there is a relationship between the consumption of herbal medicine in postpartum mothers with the incidence of diarrhea in infants aged 7-40 days. Based on the results of the study, it is concluded that mothers who consume herbal medicine during the postpartum period can cause diarrhea in infants. Because of the hygine factor that is less clean and the content of spices that are too hot. In order to minimize the factors that cause babies to experience diarrhea, mothers should not carelessly consume food and drinks, especially in choosing traditional herbs that do not harm mothers and babies. If you want to consume herbal medicine, you should precipitate it first and then drink it clearly.

Abstract

The high prevalence of anemia affects almost all age groups in society. One of the groups of people with a high prevalence is pregnant women in various countries including Indonesia, reporting that the prevalence of anemia in the world is estimated at 30% of the world's population and around 500 million people are believed to suffer from anemia. Pregnancy anemia is called "potential danger to mother and child", which is why anemia requires serious attention from all parties involved in health services. Bleeding is the main factor causing high MMR. Bleeding can occur during pregnancy, childbirth and postpartum. Anemia is one of the risk factors that can worsen the mother's condition if accompanied by bleeding during pregnancy, childbirth and postpartum. Postpartum hemorrhage is still one of the causes of maternal death, which is 28%. Untreated postpartum hemorrhage can result in hemorrhagic shock, puerperal infection, and postpartum anemia. One of the predisposing factors of postpartum hemorrhage is anemia in pregnancy. This study aims to identify the relationship between anemia and postpartum hemorrhage in mothers. This study uses a quantitative approach with cross sectional and data analyzed univariately and bivariately. The subjects in this study were mothers giving birth at Abdul Moeloek Hospital, Lampung Province. The technique used in this study is a random sampling technique, namely subjects selected and taken randomly through a lottery. Data collection using secondary data and data analysis using Chi Square correlation.
