Abstract

This study aims to analyze the direct role of financial literacy and education level on financial technology, secondly to analyze the direct influence of financial literacy and education level on self-efficacy, thirdly to analyze the direct influence of self-efficacy on financial technology, and fourthly to analyze the indirect influence of financial literacy and education level on financial technology through the mediation of self-efficacy. The sample was 100 Generation Z individuals in Bekasi Regency, selected using purposive sampling. The data analysis method in this study was associative causality through a quantitative approach. The data analysis technique used is SEM-PLS (Structural Equation Modeling-Partial Least Squares) on financial literacy, education level, financial technology, and self-efficacy as a mediating variable. The study results show that financial literacy does not affect financial technology. However, financial literacy has a significant effect on self-efficacy. Education level does not affect financial technology, but education level significantly affects self-efficacy. Self-efficacy mediates educational level and financial technology. The practical implications of this study related to financial literacy and education are that they increase Gen Z's self-efficacy in using financial technology (fintech), which affects their ability to manage finances effectively, avoid financial problems, and access appropriate financial products.

Abstract

Buy Now Pay Later (BNPL) services have gained immense popularity, especially among younger generations such as Gen Z, due to their easy accessibility and flexible payment options. This study explores the impact of BNPL usage on impulse buying behavior, specifically in Batam, Indonesia. This study aims to examine the influence of BNPL usage on impulse buying of global brand products, focusing on understanding the psychological mechanisms, such as self-control, that mediate this relationship. A quantitative research design using SmartPLS 4 was adopted. Data were collected through questionnaires distributed to 230 respondents in Batam who actively use BNPL services. The study is relevant to Indonesia’s growing digital financial landscape. However, since the data were collected only from Batam City, the findings do not sufficiently represent BNPL users across Indonesia. The sample calculation used the theory of Hair et al. This study found that BNPL promotion, social influence, and perceived ease of use significantly influence self-control, influencing impulse buying behavior. Furthermore, self-control was identified as a mediator between BNPL services and impulse buying. This study provides insights for BNPL service providers to develop responsible marketing strategies and highlights the need for financial literacy programs to help consumers manage impulse buying behavior. This study was limited to respondents in Batam and focused primarily on a young population, which may not fully represent the broader BNPL consumer base. This study used only the application.

Abstract

This study is motivated by the increasing work pressure faced by administrative employees in logistics companies, where excessive workloads, tight deadlines, and system disruptions have become critical issues that threaten both employee well-being and operational accuracy. This study aims to analyze the causes, forms, and impacts of work stress among employees in a logistics service company in Gresik Regency. The research involved four informants consisting of the Head of HRD and three administrative employees selected through purposive sampling based on stress indicators. Using a descriptive qualitative method, data were collected through in-depth interviews and direct observation. The findings show that excessive workload, simultaneous arrival of multiple ships, multitasking beyond primary duties, system errors, and tight reporting deadlines are the main triggers of work stress. The forms of stress appear in physical fatigue, emotional tension, reduced concentration, and declining motivation. Work stress negatively affects accuracy, productivity, and employee discipline. The study concludes that improving workload management, increasing staffing, and implementing structured stress-management programs are essential to reduce work stress.

Abstract

This study aims to examine the factors influencing voter decision-making among first-time voters in the 2024 regional head elections in the Riau Islands Province. Employing a quantitative research design, the study utilizes survey methods through questionnaires distributed to 100 respondents selected using purposive sampling. The research investigates five key variables: Attitude Toward the Behavior, Subjective Norms, Perceived Behavioral Control, Social Media Political Marketing Activity, and Negative Political Advertising. Data collection was conducted using a Likert-scale questionnaire, and the data were analyzed using SPSS version 25. Hypothesis testing was carried out through both partial and simultaneous regression analyses. The results indicate that all five independent variables significantly affect the voting decisions of first-time voters, suggesting that individual beliefs, social expectations, perceived ease of performing the behavior, online political engagement, and exposure to negative campaigning all play substantial roles in shaping voter behavior. These findings underscore the importance of strategic communication and ethical political engagement tailored to the youth demographic. For policymakers and campaign teams, understanding these determinants can support more inclusive and effective approaches to encourage political participation among young voters in regional elections, particularly in geographically dispersed areas like the Riau Islands.

Abstract

The study examines the multifaceted relationship between women's entrepreneurial skills, product innovation, and economic independence within the home industry sector of Medan City. Utilizing a quantitative descriptive approach, data were gathered from a purposive sample of 376 women entrepreneurs. Questionnaires were distributed both offline and online, and the collected data were analyzed using Structural Equation Modeling-Partial Least Square (SEM-PLS) with Smart PLS 4.0 software. The analysis process included rigorous testing for validity and reliability, as well as an evaluation of both the measurement and structural models to ensure the robustness of the findings. The results reveal that entrepreneurial skills possess a statistically significant influence on product innovation, demonstrating that a high level of managerial, leadership, and creative abilities among female entrepreneurs directly enhances their capacity to innovate. Furthermore, a strong and significant relationship was found between product innovation and economic independence, indicating that diversifying products increases competitive advantage and improves financial security. Crucially, the analysis confirms that product innovation acts as a significant mediator in the link between entrepreneurial skills and economic independence. This finding highlights that entrepreneurial skills are most effective in promoting economic independence when consistently accompanied by product innovation. The most dominant indicators were leadership skills, product variants, and financial management capabilities, which are identified as key drivers of success. In conclusion, this research underscores the vital role of product innovation in translating entrepreneurial talent into tangible economic empowerment for women in the home industry.

Abstract

This study investigates the determinants of e-commerce adoption among Micro, Small, and Medium-sized Enterprises (MSMEs) in North Sumatra Province, Indonesia, emphasizing the roles of technology readiness and perceived benefits. Using a quantitative approach, data were collected from 384 MSME respondents through a structured survey and analyzed using Structural Equation Modeling–Partial Least Squares (SEM-PLS) with SmartPLS 4.0 software. The results reveal that perceived benefits have a significant positive effect on e-commerce adoption (β = 1.578, t = 5.519, p < 0.001), while technology readiness shows a significant negative effect (β = –1.025, t = 3.543, p < 0.001). The model’s explanatory power is strong, with R² = 0.642, indicating that 64.2% of the variance in adoption is explained by these two variables. The findings highlight that MSMEs are more motivated to adopt e-commerce when they clearly perceive its tangible advantages, such as increased operational efficiency, broader market reach, and higher sales, rather than solely relying on technological readiness. This paradox suggests that infrastructure alone does not guarantee adoption without adequate digital literacy and trust in online transactions. Policymakers should therefore prioritize programs that enhance digital capabilities and demonstrate practical benefits to strengthen e-commerce adoption among MSMEs.
