Abstract

This research is motivated by the demands of improving the quality of education in private educational institutions often faced with budget constraints. This study aims to analyze the impact of budget constraints on implementing Total Quality Management (TQM) and to identify effective and efficient TQM implementation strategies in these conditions. This study uses a qualitative approach with a case study type at SMP Queen Ibnu Sina, Banyuwangi. Data was collected through in-depth interviews with the principal, vice principal, teachers, and administrative staff, observation and documentation studies. The study's results indicate that budget constraints significantly impact initial TQM investments, such as staff training and system development, as well as on ongoing TQM maintenance, which led to the selection of more affordable internal evaluations. Nevertheless, the institution demonstrated resilience by implementing several adaptive strategies. Prioritizing areas for improvement is the primary strategy. Creative use of internal resources has also proven effective. External collaboration with MGMP, professional organizations, and the government opens up access to resources and expertise that are difficult to reach independently. Strong leadership, staff commitment, effective communication, budget transparency, ongoing evaluation, and a culture of continuous improvement are also necessary. The study concluded that TQM implementation can still be effective in private institutions with limited budgets through adaptive strategies such as prioritization, utilization of internal resources, and external collaboration, supported by strong leadership and an organizational culture that supports improvement.

Abstract

Educational supervision as one form of effort in one of the functions of educational management plays a very strategic role in placing each educational program so that it remains on track in its implementation. However, the facts show that the implementation of educational supervision has not been maximized, there are still many obstacles faced so that it is ineffective and does not have a significant impact on improving the quality of education. So that a new breakthrough is needed in educational supervision that does not only focus on academic achievement, but also on the formation of a whole, characterful, and highly moral human being. Namely by implementing prophetic-based educational supervision. Through a qualitative descriptive approach in the form of a library research, this article aims to describe the prophetic values ??contained in the Qur'an that can be implemented in the educational supervision process. The results of the search found that; The prophetic values ??that can be developed in educational supervision are: 1) Supervisors in carrying out supervision must be based on monotheism, honesty, justice, wisdom and trustworthiness, provide examples, advise ma'ruf, deliberation and politeness, cooperative/cooperation, and constructive and creative; 2) The target/object of supervision must have the intention to improve themselves, be honest and not manipulate, and accept it as a form of practice.

Abstract

The improvement of student competency in the Higher Education environment is carried out by the Professional Certification Institute (LSP), namely through competency test activities in the competency certification scheme it has. As a form of improving the quality of LSP, the development of digital-based competencies needs to be carried out so that it can be an alternative in implementing competency tests that are still guided by applicable regulations, upholding the principles of competency testing and are more effective and efficient. The purpose of this study is to develop a model for implementing competency test activities for all certification schemes in LSP, starting from registration to the pre-assessment stage. This research is a type of development research with a research and development (R and D) model. The procedure in development research uses steps including the stages of analysis, design, development, implementation, and evaluation. The subjects in this study were LSP implementers in Higher Education, in this case LSP P1 Universitas PGRI Adi Buana Surabaya. This study uses expert validation tests related to the content and products of the development. The results of a series of research activities based on trial evaluations are known to obtain an average score of eligibility of 3.81 with a maximum scale of 4 in the very good category. From the evaluation results, improvements are needed in the design aspects, namely the type of writing, the appearance of the background and the addition of videos as a guide for prospective assessors in this case students of Universitas PGRI Adi Buana Surabaya.

Abstract

The urgency of this research arises from the limited availability of teaching resources that effectively integrate entrepreneurship theory with practical experience, resulting in students’ difficulties in fully developing an entrepreneurial mindset. The study adopted a Research and Development (R&D) approach using the 4D model: Define, Design, Develop, and Disseminate. However, due to time and funding constraints, the research was limited to the Develop stage. Validation results from two experts in entrepreneurship and curriculum development indicated a very high level of feasibility, with an average score of 94.1% across aspects of content, structure, readability, and the application of PjBL principles. The module is considered valid, practical, and ready for classroom use. Its strengths lie in integrating entrepreneurial theory and practice, emphasizing active and collaborative learning, and embedding Islamic values in project activities. This study is expected to contribute significantly to the development of innovative entrepreneurship pedagogy in Islamic higher education, while also strengthening students’ competencies in critical thinking, communication, collaboration, innovation, and decision-making. Further research is recommended to examine the module’s effectiveness across broader classroom contexts and diverse learning settings.

Abstract

The kiai (Islamic boarding school) is the primary leader of an Islamic boarding school, possessing full authority over the management and development of the institution. The kiai's leadership is a central factor in improving the quality of education, from curriculum management, teaching staff performance, student development, and strengthening the learning system. This study aims to analyze the kiai's leadership model in improving the quality of education at the Hudaya Diwek Islamic Boarding School in Jombang and assess its impact on learning quality. This study employed a descriptive qualitative approach, with data collection techniques including participant observation, in-depth interviews, and institutional documentation. Data were analyzed through three stages: data reduction, presentation, and conclusion drawing. Their validity was tested using source and method triangulation. The results indicate that KH. Agus Achmad Syaikhu's leadership combines charismatic, transformational, and participatory styles effectively to drive improvements in educational quality. Improvements are evident in quantitative indicators, such as a 41.6% increase in student participation in the Musyawarah Kubro (Cultural Consultative Meeting), a 66.6% increase in memorization of the Imrithy (The Book of Imrithy), and a 150% increase in memorization of Al-Fiyyah Ibn Malik. Qualitatively, significant changes have occurred in the students' character, marked by increased activeness, self-confidence, and involvement in Islamic boarding school scientific activities. The novelty of this research lies in its integrative analysis based on quantitative and qualitative indicators, a practice rarely employed in similar studies. This research provides a practical contribution to the development of Islamic education management based on kiai leadership and serves as a reference for other Islamic boarding schools in improving the quality of their education.

Abstract

Green Infrastructure is a concept of developing facilities and infrastructure that applies environmentally friendly principles, such as the use of renewable energy, rainwater management, and green open spaces to support sustainability. In the educational context, the implementation of Green Infrastructure not only serves as a physical element of school buildings but also plays an essential role in the management of school facilities and infrastructure to create a healthy, efficient, and climate-adaptive learning environment. This study aims to analyze the implementation of Green Infrastructure in the management of facilities and infrastructure at SMA Darussalam Blokagung, identify the management challenges faced, and evaluate its impact on environmental sustainability and learning effectiveness. The study employed a qualitative approach with a case study design. Data were collected through in-depth interviews with the school principal, facilities managers, teachers, and students, as well as document analysis of school policies related to green programs. The findings reveal that the implementation of Green Infrastructure, such as the development of educational gardens, the use of natural ventilation and lighting, rainwater management systems, and the utilization of renewable energy, has had a positive impact on students’ comfort and the school’s energy efficiency. However, limited budgets, a lack of technical understanding, and weak policy integration remain major challenges to its optimal implementation. These findings highlight the need for more strategic management planning, integrated policy support, and collaboration with external stakeholders to expand and strengthen the application of Green Infrastructure in schools.
