Study about utilization of interactive multimedia simulation as a learning media on physics learning is very crucial. Currently, the use of interactive simulations with various learning methods has been widely used. This study aims to identify achievement and learning activity of physics teacher candidate by harnessing Technology Enabled Active Learning Simulation (TEALSim) on physics concept. The research type is Pre-Experimental with One Group Pretest-Posttest Design. The subject of the study was 41 student of physics education department at Universitas Negeri Makassar. Data analysis of this study using descriptive and quantitative analysis for research result. The results of the study revealed that there is a significant improvement on before and after giving treatment where the value of N-Gain is mayority on “enough” category by 73,09%. This indicate that the implementation of TEALSim can enhance of student’s achievement in Physics Education Department. Beside of that, according to result of student’s activity analysis, the average is above 80% that is on “very good” category which means that students are very active on doing learning of physics by the utilization of TEALSim

Abstract

Currently, teachers are required not only to be able to master the content of the subjects being taught but also to be able to develop various digital-based learning media such as websites. Currently, the majority of teachers have been able to use learning websites, but there are still very few who are able to create and manage their own learning websites. Therefore, this study aims to determine whether the application of the Gold Standard Project Based Learning (GS-PjBL) in the form of training and mentoring is able to encourage teachers to be able to develop learning websites. The implementation of GS-PjBL consists of 7 stages, namely (1) Problems and challenges, (2) Study and development, (3) Testing, (4) Role enhancement, (5) Reflection, (6) Revision, (7) Product publication. . Based on the evaluation results obtained information that there is 1 group has been able to develop and complete a learning website, and the other group has been able to make menu settings on the theme, and install and choose a theme and complete the selection of hosting services. In addition, as an evaluation material, at the end of the activity, participants also filled out a satisfaction questionnaire with the ongoing GS-PjBL model of training and mentoring activities. Based on the response analysis, participants' satisfaction above 79% is in the good category. This shows that participants are satisfied with the activities they have received even though there are some shortcomings.

Additionally, those characteristics can be applied through intra-curricular, co-curricular, extra-curricular, and non-curricular activities. The test results of the guidebook were valid, and the results of the responses from prospective users showed that the Graduate Competency Standards, Content Standards, and Program Descriptions and assessment were in highly great qualifications. The results of this research were expected to meet the demands of providing a guidebook for strengthening the character education that can be used by lecturers and students in the implementation of strengthening of the character education at the Faculty of Education, The State University of Makassar. Abstract

The study aimed at finding out: (1) whether the implementation of socio-affective strategies could improve Indonesian junior secondary school students’ English speaking ability; and (2) the students’ perceptions on the implementation of socio-affective strategies in teaching and learning English speaking skill. The study employed quantitative research method. Pre-experimental research design was used to assess the improvement of the students’ English speaking ability and questionnaire was used to find out the students’ perception on socio-affective strategies in English speaking classroom. Thirty three (33) seven grade students of Public Islamic Junior Secondary School (MTs. Negeri) Gowa Regency South Sulawesi Province were taken as samples of the study by using cluster random sampling technique. The pre-test and post-test results were collected from the students’ speaking assessment then analyzed by using IBM Statistic SPSS 20 Software. Questionnaire responses were classified into sub-themes and then analyzed using percentage. The study found: (1) the t-test value of English speaking ability was greater than t-table (16.476>1.693). Therefore, the alternative hypothesis (H1) was accepted and null hypothesis (H0) was rejected. It can be concluded that there was significant improvement on students’ English speaking ability by implementing socio-affective strategies at the seventh grade students of MTs Negeri Gowa Regency; (2) the result of questionnaire analysis showed that the students had positive responses to the implementation of socio-affective strategies in speaking class with the range score of 130-142. Abstract

This study aims to determine how well the zonasi system in new student admissions (PPDB) is. This achievement stems from the respondents' knowledge of the zonasi system's goals, advantages, and disadvantages. Furthermore, respondents' level of satisfaction and anxiety in dealing with PPDB is also analyzed. The respondents in this study were 250 students from 7 different school districts. The data obtained were analyzed quantitatively, descriptive, and regression. The results of this study indicate that the zonasi system was implemented appropriately. In principle, there is no difference between the new and old systems. Therefore, it is believed to encourage students to study harder. The level of student satisfaction tends to be high, and anxiety during PPDB tends to be low; the effect between the two was significant (r=-0.141; p <0.05). This study suggests the need for mapping the zones of state schools. Hence, there are no students outside the state school zone, considering the sudden transfer of students due to changes in assignments and parents' addresses, the need for potential academic tests as a reference for guidance and counseling teachers in providing guidance and counseling services; furthermore, the need to increase the number of new schools with state status.

Abstract

This paper involves researching, reading, analyzing, evaluating, and summarizing related scholarly literature about research methods used in teaching grammar, utilizing educational technology as one of the research learning sources for future related research. First, the reviewed scholarly article describes how the writers conducted their research. Then, using descriptive analysis, varieties of research methods in teaching grammar utilizing educational technology are investigated. Among the investigated research methods are quasi-experimental, phenomenology, ethnography, true experimental, pre-experimental, descriptive, mixed method of an exploratory study, mixed method of explanatory study, case study, survey method, classroom action research, and collaboration research. However, due to the limited space, the paper only describes popular methods of quantitative approach, including quasi-experimental, pre-experimental, true-experimental, survey studies. Besides, the qualitative approach involves case study, descriptive study, and phenomenology. Also, one of the most popular mixed-method used is explanatory study. The description of each method is supported by examples found in international and national journal articles published worldwide. This paper is expected to be beneficial to readers and researchers in English language teaching (ELT) worldwide.
