Abstract

This study aims to determine the effectiveness, constraints, and efforts during chemistry learning takes place online during the Covid-19 Pandemic at SMAN 1 Gerung, West Lombok Regency. The method used in this research is descriptive qualitative. The data collected is in the form of a questionnaire filled by 72 samples. The research sample was taken by simple random sampling that has been calculated with the slovin formula. Results of data analysis the research questionnaire on all indicators produces an average value successively with less effective aspects as follows: indicators process communication 3,40 indicators management of the implementation of learning 3,20, indicators student response 3,32, indicators learning activity 3,10, and indicators outcome student learning 3,20. Online chemistry learning in the future the Covid-19 pandemic at SMAN 1 Gerung, West Lombok Regency, is still lacking effective with an average value of 3.24. Constraints during learning takes place online, namely an unstable internet connection, limited quota internet, and there are students who do not have cellphones. Efforts made to overcome obstacles, namely the teacher visits the student's house to give learning and limited face to face learning.

Abstract

This study aims to determine the differences in chemistry learning outcomes in blended learning using Edmodo media with Whatsapp class X students on electrolyte and nonelectrolyte solutions. This research is a Quasi Experimental Design research (quasi-experiment). The research design used in this study was a Quasi Experimental Design, namely the Non-Equivalent Control Group Design. Sample selection using purposive sampling technique. The research sample is experimental class I (X IPA 1) which applies blended learning using Edmodo media and experimental class II (X IPA 2) which applies blended learning using whatsapp media. The data collection technique used is a test instrument for understanding concepts (pretest and posttest) in the form of multiplechoice questions. Test the hypothesis in this study using the t-test. The results of the statistical test t-test tcount at a significant level of 5% shows tcount (2.43) > ttable (1,669) which means Ha is accepted and Ho is rejected. This shows that there is a significant difference in blended learning between using edmodo and whatsapp media in improving chemistry learning outcomes, where blended learning using Edmodo media is better in improving students' chemistry learning outcomes

Abstract

This research aimed to develop a students ethics science worksheet that is appropriate (valid, practical, and effective) for improving students’ critical thinking skills. This development research was conducted based on 4D models (define, design, develop, and disseminate). The validity level of student’s ethics science worksheet was validated by 3 (three) validators obtained a result V of 0,79 with valid categories. The practicality level of students’ ethics science worksheet obtained persentase of 88,5% with very pratical categories. The effectivenes level of students’ ethics science worksheet in improving students’ critical thinking skills is shown by the results n-gain analysis of 0,62 with a persentase of 0,62% in the moderate categories and effective enough. Furthermore, for each aspect of the ability to think creatively, scores are obtained for aspects fluency, eleboration, flexibility, and originality with an average N-gain are 0,67, 0,58, 0,63, and 0,55. Thus it can be concluded that, the students’ ethics science worksheet is appropriate to use to improve students’ creative thinking skills.

Abstract

This study aims to determine the level of Self Regulated Learning (SRL) in online learning for chemistry education students at the University of Mataram. This type of research is descriptive research with a quantitative approach. The sample used consisted of 200 active students of the chemistry education study program at the University of Mataram. Sampling was carried out using proportionated stratified random sampling. The instruments used in this study were student response questionnaires. The measurement scale used is the Likert scale, with alternative answers to questions consisting of 4 alternative answers and 25 statement items that include 5 indicators that have been tested for validity in the research instrument trial (test validity and reliability). The questionnaire was distributed online which was compiled into a google form and sent via WhatsApp. The analysis technique uses descriptive statistical analysis techniques. The results showed that the average value from the analysis of the overall indicators obtained the highest average value was indicator 5 (seeking help) which was 2,916 and the indicator with the lowest average value was indicator 3 (environmental structuring) with a value of 2,613. Based on these data, as many as 17 of 200 students have a poor level of Self Regulated Learning, 79 of 200 students have a Self Regulated Learning fairly good 92 out of 200 students have a good level of Self-Regulated Learning, then 12 out of 200 students have Self Regulated Learning in online learning. It can be concluded that the level of Self Regulated Learning (SRL) in online learning of chemistry education students at the University of Mataram is in the good category.

Abstract

This research is a research and development with a 4D model research design (define, design, develop, and disseminate). This research aims to find out: (1) The process of developing a natural chemical science practicum module: procedure of making trimyristin soap from nutmeg to support meaningful learning. (2) The level of validity and practicality of the practicum module. The results showed that the validity value of the three validators obtained an average Aiken index value of V = 0.84 with an average reliability level of R = 0.93 which showed that practicum module was highly valid and feasible to use. Practicality can be seen from the responses of students and lecturers who showed positive responses with an average practicality of all aspects of 88% student responses and 89% of lecturer responses. The results of the physical evaluation of trimyristin solid soap (organoleptic, pH, foam stability, and moisture content) resulting from this study showed good results because they met several standards for the quality of solid soap SNI 3532-2016. In conclusion the developed of practicum module was highly valid and highly practical to be used in the learning process.

Abstract

This research is a quantitative descriptive study with the aim of analyzing the achievement of the knowledge dimensions of class XI MIPA students at SMA Negeri 1 Terara on acid-base material in terms of learning styles. This study involved 102 students as a sample with a sampling technique using simple random sampling. Collecting data using a learning style questionnaire instrument and test questions for the achievement of students' knowledge dimensions. The results of the validity of the learning style questionnaire instrument and the test questions for the achievement of student knowledge dimensions obtained from three validators, namely 0.81 and 0.78, respectively, are valid and can be used to measure the tendency of learning styles and the level of achievement of students' knowledge dimensions but need revision. The results of the study for the learning style questionnaire showed that of 102 students of class XI MIPA at SMA Negeri 1 Terara there were 47 students (46.08%) who had a visual learning style tendency, 29 students (28.43%) who had an auditory learning style tendency, and there are 26 students (25.49%) who have a tendency to auditory learning style. This shows that the dominant learning style owned by students of class XI MIPA at SMA Negeri 1 Terara is a visual learning style. The achievement of students' knowledge dimensions based on learning styles obtained an average test score of 43.42 for students with visual learning styles, 40.45 for students with auditory learning styles, and 43.33 for students with kinesthetic learning styles. This shows that the achievement of the knowledge dimensions of class XI MIPA students at SMA Negeri 1 Terara belongs to the low category.

Abstract

This research aims to determine the effect of learning outcomes of class XI IPA students at SMA Negeri 2 Mataram by using blended learning on the subject matter of reaction rates. An understanding of abstract chemical concepts requires appropriate learning strategies so that in the learning process students do not feel bored. The use of blended learning by paying attention to students initial abilities is thought to be able to overcome this problem. This type of research is a quasi-experimental research. The research data used a learning achievement test which consisted of 13 multiple choice questions accompanied by reasons. The results showed that the average learning outcomes of students who were taught using blended learning were higher then those who were taught using conventional learning. Data analysis used a One-way Ancova statistical test, and after being tested, the results showed that blended learning did not have a significant effect on the chemistry learning outcomes of class XI IPA students at SMA Negeri 2 Mataram.

Abstract

This study aims to analyze the effectiveness of chemistry learning during the implementation of online learning at State High Schools in Sumbawa district (SMAN 1 Sumbawa, SMAN 2 Sumbawa, and SMAN 3 Sumbawa). This type of research is descriptive with an ex post facto quantitative approach. Sampling technique with the formula of Isaac and Michael with an error rate of 5%, obtained 210 samples. Data collection on the effectiveness of online learning using a closed questionnaire with a Likert scale consisting of 36 statements. Data analysis techniques using descriptive statistical analysis techniques by calculating percentages, results were obtained: indicators of managing the implementation of learning by 72%, communicative processes by 65%, student responses by 52%, learning activities by 68%, and learning outcomes by 70%. The results showed that the effectiveness of chemistry learning during the implementation of online learning with these 5 indicators falls into the effective category with an average of 65%.

Abstract

The purpose of study was to develop a feasible and practical POE (Predict-Observe-Explain) based learning module assisted by rolling ball media on hydrocarbon compound properties. The study is a research and development study which uses a 4D model. The result of data analysis shows that the value of validity of the POE (Predict-Observe-Explain) based learning module assisted by rolling ball media on hydrocarbon compound properties using Aiken index was 0.84 in the category of very feasible. The practicality of the POE (Predict-Observe-Explain) based learning module assisted by rolling ball media on hydrocarbon compound properties is in the category of very practicality with a practical percentage of 87.25%. Based on the result, it can be concluded that the develop POE (Predict-Observe-Explain) based learning module assisted by rolling ball media on hydrocarbon compound  properties is feasible and practical use as an additional learning resource.

Abstract

This study aims to develop a chemical problem-based learning module on petroleum material at SMAN 2 Mataram by using validity and practicality tests. The research model used is the 4D model, namely define, design, development, and dissemination. This study used a purposive sampling technique in sampling, involving 36 students of class XI MIPA 8 at SMAN 2 Mataram who were then used as respondents in a practicality test. Data analysis shows a good level of validity, with an Aiken V index of 0.88. Meanwhile, the practicality module was analyzed using the practicality index (student and teacher response questionnaire) so that the practicality module proportions were 86% (students) and 94% (teachers). These results provide evidence that the problem-based learning chemistry module on petroleum material is valid and practical. Therefore, this module can be applied in the learning process at SMAN 2 Mataram and maybe also in other schools that have a similar curriculum
