Abstract

This study aims to improve the ability of students' problem solving using Islamic-based PISA model questions through enrichment activities. The research subjects consisted of 5 fast group students who were given enrichment activities. The instrument was designed based on PISA questions with Islamic-based content quantity. Analysis of the improvement of students' problem solving abilities based on problem solving indicators compiled on each instrument problem based on Polya's problem solving steps namely Understanding the problem (M1), Arranging the plan (M2), Implementing the plan (M3), and Looking back (M4) . Based on the scores generated in field trials 1 (before enrichment) and field trials 2 (after enrichment) the scores of each indicator of problem solving have increased. Improvement occurs differently for each subject of research. The increase in scores indicates that there is an increase in the problem solving skills of each research subject. In general, in the field test stage 1, the subject did the problem solving stages of the M2 stage (preparing plans) and M3 (implementing plans) completion. The subject did not make the process of understanding the problem and did not look back. After the enrichment process was carried out on the five research subjects, the five subjects performed 4 stages complete poblem solving  with different scores. Abstract

Graf G = (V, E), where V is the set of points and E is the set of sides. Interesting application of a graph, one of which is graph coloring (graph coloring). There are three kinds of coloring that are point coloring, edge coloring, and region coloring. In this paper will be studied dye staining. Point coloring is to color the dots of a graph so that no two neighboring dots have the same color. The minimum number of colors that can be used to color graph is expressed by chromatic numbers. Currently a lot of applications from graph coloring, one of which is the storage of chemicals. In the storage of chemicals required a good arrangement, this is due to the influence of chemicals with each other if stored simultaneously. The main focus of this paper is to determine the chromatic number in graph o and the application scheme of dye graph coloring. Keywords: graph coloring, point coloring, edge coloring and region coloring

Abstract

The ability to think critically is a thinking skill used to systematically investigate one's thinking process in using evidence and logic to the thinking process. This capability can be developed through the application of open ended problems. This type of research is qualitative. The research approach used is case study. Analysis of research data using the method of observation, test, and interview. In addition, validity and reliability tests were conducted on the instruments used. Based on the results of the validation level analysis for all aspects of 0.9 with high interpretation. The level of reliability of the test questions reached a high level with a coefficient of 0.92. The critical thinking ability of junior high school students in solving the problem of open ended problem math on the material of social arithmetic is still low reaching 50%. While the result of critical thinking ability analysis on each indicator is ability to give simple explanation 27%, build basic skill 24%, conclusion 18% make further explanation 10% and strategy and tactics reach 21%. Based on the above, there needs to be an alternative solution in improving students' critical thinking skills through the application of open ended problem in every learning mathematics. Keywords: Critical thinking ability,  open ended problem

Abstract

The purpose of the research is to describe the reasoning of junior high school students with extroverted personality in solving math problems. The kind of this research is descriptive research with qualitative approach. The subjects of the research are three students of junior high school students in VII class with extrovert personality. The data collecting methods are documentation, interviews, observation, questionnaires, and test. The credibility of the data is test by using triangulation. Triangulation that used is time, subject and method. The results of the research are, the mathematics reasoning of extrovert subject include the collecting facts related to the problem but not writing all the facts that exist, only partially needed for the calculation process is written, then do the analysis but not detailed just what is needed for the next process is written, then make conjectures and propose arguments to strengthen the conjecture that has been proposed, however, the conjecture that is made is incomplete and detailed only partially, and for the last is to draw conclusions but not validate the conclusions that have been made. The whole process in the deployment is done by the subject but not maximally. The situation is supported by the basic nature of extrovert subject that easily bored, not an expert writing but more expert opinion verbally. Keywords: reasoning, problem solving, and extrovert personality

Abstract

Independence refers to the belief in the ability of oneself to solve problems without special assistance from others, reluctance to be controlled by others, can carry out their own activities and solve problems themselves. While the learning outcomes are changes in individual behavior that includes cognitive, affective, and psychomotor aspects. The researcher took class VIII MBI of MTs Mambaul Falah and showed the mathematic value of students exceeding KKM. This study was used to determine whether there is a correlation between the level of independence of learning and the learning outcomes of mathematics. The research approach used is a quantitative approach with a type of correlation. Based on the results of the study, the rtable value at ? = 5% and db = 15 is 0.514 so that rcount<rtable (0.279 <0.514) then the null hypothesis is accepted and the alternative hypothesis is rejected, the value is 0.279 and is located at 0.20-0.40 which indicates low interpretation. Abstract

Learning is a key activity of the education proces. Researchers conducted observation in class VII MTs Sirojul Ulum Virgin. This study description aktivity and study results in studying the operational aljabar with tipe Make A Match and Giving Question And Getting Answer make Card Domino. Type of researc is a classroom action research (CAR). The procedure used is the model cycle, mean persentesion activity studyig in the first cycle of 69,14%, while in the second cycle is 80,53%. Then the results of pretest of students of 50,00%, while in the first cycle of 61.11%, while in the second cycle of 94,44%. It means that the activity and student learning outcomes can be improved with the implementation of cooperative learning model type Make A Match And Giving Question And Getting Answer make Card Domino. The learning model is used for improve motivation student in  question and have keative answered to prove the  problem. Abstract

Mathematical communication of students is the ability of students to communicate both orally and in writing in the process of learning mathematics. The ability of students' mathematical communication can increase if there is a change in learning one of them through application  of Realistic Mathematics learning with STAD Type Cooperative Setting. This type of research is a classroom action research. Data analysis is done qualitatively and quantitatively to the ability of oral and written communication of students. Based on the results of analysis on the cycle I and II students' communication skills in cycle I and cycle II has increased. Student's oral communication ability in cycle I got the average score of 9.17 with the category of "Good Enough" and on cycle II increased with category "Very Good" and obtained average score 12.62. The students' writing communication skills also improved. In the first and second cycles of students' writing communication skills increased with the category of "Very Good" and obtained score 63.76 and in cycle II increased with the category "Very Good" and obtained an average score of 82.18. Based on these things then this learning can be used as an alternative in learning mathematics to improve the ability of oral and written communication of students.Key words: PMR, STAD, communication skill
