Abstract

Anemia in pregnancy is a hemoglobin or HB level below 11gr/dl. The type of anemia that often occurs in pregnancy is anemia due to iron (Fe) deficiency which can be called iron nutritional anemia (AGB). Compliance is an attitude or obedience to fulfill the recommendations of health workers without coercion. This research aims to determine the relationship between compliance with the consumption of Fe tablets and the incidence of anemia in pregnant women in the third trimester. In this research, a quantitative research method was used with a correlational type of research or looking at the relationship between two variables. This research uses a cross-sectional approach. The population in this study were all pregnant women who were seen at BPM Diya Amanatur Rohmah Kesamben Jombang. On January 8-30 2023, a sample of 34 respondents was obtained using purposive sampling. Data collection was carried out using a compliance questionnaire through interviews. After the data was collected, data analysis was used using the Sperm Rank test and then carried out using the SPSS for Windows 20.0 program. The research results showed that Rho showed pvalue = 0.000 or < α (0.05) so that there was a relationship between adherence to consuming Fe tablets and the incidence of anemia in pregnant women in the third trimester at PMB Diya Amanatur Rohmah Kesamben Jombang. Based on the research results, what needs to be discussed are factors that can influence anemia and maternal compliance in consuming fe.

Abstract

Background: Bronchopneumonia, one of the variants of pneumonia that commonly affects the bronchi and alveoli, especially in toddlers, is often caused by exposure to cigarette smoke in the surrounding environment. In 2019, there were 2,157 cases of bronchopneumonia in toddlers in Aceh Province. The presence of family members who smoke increases the risk of bronchopneumonia in toddlers because cigarette smoke can disrupt lung defense mechanisms. This research aims to determine the influence of family members' smoking behavior on the incidence of bronchopneumonia in toddlers in the pediatric ward of RSUD dr. H. Yuliddin Away Tapaktuan, South Aceh. Methods: This research design is quantitative with a cross-sectional study approach. The study population consisted of 71 toddlers, with 41 respondents selected as samples using purposive sampling technique. The study was conducted from February 7 to 15, 2024, using interview instruments and examination sheets to assess bronchopneumonia criteria. Data analysis was performed using the chi-square test. Results: The research findings indicate that the average family members of toddlers who smoked the most were the toddlers' parents, with a percentage of 56%, and smoking habits indoors reached 68.3%, while the proximity of smokers to toddlers reached 90.2%. The chi-square test analysis showed the influence of family members' smoking behavior on the incidence of bronchopneumonia in toddlers, with a p-value of 0.007 (< α = 0.05).Conclusion: The smoking behavior of family members can cause respiratory disorders in toddlers and thus increasing the risk of bronchopneumonia

Abstract

Background: The process of development and growth during toddlerhood is determined by the food consumed every day. Giving the body the appropriate nutrition it needs will produce good development. However, various obstacles often occur, such as eating disorders in children. One of the eating disorders in children is the habit of refusing food and being picky about food, often called picky eating, which will have an impact on their nutritional status. Thin or poor nutritional status in children under five can put them at risk of stunting. Stunting is a physical growth disorder characterized by a decrease in growth rate and the impact of a nutritional imbalance. Methods: This research is quantitative, with a type of observational analytical research. This research was conducted from January to October 2023 in Tirtomoyo, Wonogiri, with a population of 55 children and a sample of 50 children. A questionnaire was developed by researchers based on the Picky Eating Behavior Rating Scale and Transcultural Nursing Theory. Whereas the connection between variables is analyzed using the analysis of simple linear regression through ANOVA and power tables, the influence between variables is observed through the model summary table on value correlation (R). The license number of research is 071/277.Result: There is an influence of the behavior of picky eaters against the incidence of stunting among toddlers in the Tirtomoyo, Wonogiri, with a level of significance (Sig.) of 0.004 and a value coefficient determination (R square) of 0.164.Conclusion: The behavior of picky eaters can influence the incidence of stunting in children. Keywords: Behavior picky food (Picky Eating), Stunting, Toddlers

Abstract

Background: Abnormal labor patterns can occur during the active phase of labor, such as when cervical dilation takes longer than 6 hours, leading to prolonged labor, maternal and neonatal emergencies, or the need for a cesarean delivery. The hand-and-knee position can help rotate the fetus from a less ideal position (occipito-posterior) to a more favorable position (anterior), facilitating the baby's descent and speeding up cervical dilation.Method: This study was conducted on 20 women in active labor at PMB Soesi Herawati Kepanjen. It compared two groups: those who used the hand-and-knee position and those who did not. A quasi-experimental design was used, with data collected using observation sheets and partographs, and analyzed with the Fisher's exact test in SPSS 25.0.Result: The results showed a significant effect of the hand-and-knee position on labor progress during the active phase, with a p-value of 0.011 (α < 0.05). The hand-and-knee position helps create more space in the pelvic area, allowing the baby to move into an optimal position and speeding up cervical dilation. Conclusion: The research concludes that the hand-and-knee position can help the fetus rotate into an ideal position, aiding cervical effacement and the descent of the fetal head, thus speeding up the active phase of labor. Midwives are encouraged to promote this position to mothers in labor, as it can facilitate cervical dilation and help the fetus descend deeper into the pelvis

Abstract

Background: Music therapy is one of the non-pharmacological treatment methods used to increase milk production. Music stimulates the release of the hormone oxytocin and endorphins, so that it can increase milk production. Considering the frequency, type and duration of music is indeed pivotal in music theraphy instead of the music intervention.Purpose: to enhance breast milk production through the effectiveness of music therapy in terms of frequency, type, and duration of music.Method: The PICO (Population, Intervention, Comparison, and Outcome) framework is used as the basic to formulate the research questions. Besides, the EBSCO, Wiley, PubMed, and Google Scholar databases are also used as the literature study. PRISMA Flowchart and critical appraisal are implemented in selecting the article. Results: of the synthesis contained 5 articles that met the inclusion criteria. This review found that music therapy may be a method that can be used to increase relaxation and increase milk production. Conclusion: The effectiveness of music therapy is maximum if mother plays their favourite music. The best music type for this therapy is a passive music that provided relax sensation through the lyrics and harmony such as the bounding between mother and her child.
