Abstract

Abstract This study aims to determine the perceptions of UIN SATU students towards the use of social media, especially YouTube, as a means of improving speaking and listening skills. This study uses a quantitative approach with survey method to measure the perceptions of UIN SATU students towards the use of YouTube as a learning tool. A 5-point Likert scale was used to assess respondents' perceptions of how much they consider YouTube to be helpful in improving their speaking and listening skills. To ensure that this research instrument is reliable, a Cronbach's Alpha reliability test was conducted, where the expected value is ? 0.70, indicating good internal consistency. The Cronbach's Alpha values for the various aspects measured, such as perceptions of speaking ability (0.82), listening ability (0.85), frequency of YouTube use (0.78), and challenges of the use of YouTube faced (0.73), the results are all above the 0.70, meaning that this instrument is reliable for measuring students' perceptions. Most UIN SATU students have a positive perception of the use of YouTube as a means of improving speaking and listening skills, providing content that helps them improve pronunciation, intonation, and comprehension. YouTube is considered an effective medium for independent language learning, as students can access a wide variety of content at any time. The flexibility in choosing the time and topic of learning makes YouTube an ideal resource for students who want to improve their language skills in a practical way. However, it was also found that they face challenges in filtering irrelevant content and maintaining consistency in using YouTube for learning.

Abstract

Mosques are holy places for Muslims used for worship and other religious activities. The Ar-Rahman Mosque in Blitar City, which was inaugurated in 2019, not only functions as a place of worship, but also as a center for Islamic education and preaching. With architecture that resembles the Prophet's Mosque in Medina, this mosque conveys deep spiritual and symbolic messages through its design elements. This research aims to examine the meaning of the architecture of the Ar-Rahman Mosque in the context of Islamic da'wah and education and its influence on the spiritual experience of the congregation. Adopting a qualitative approach, data was collected through surveys, direct observation, and interviews with mosque managers, religious leaders, and local communities. The research results show that the architecture of the Ar-Rahman Mosque has a significant impact in enriching the spiritual experience of the congregation. Elements such as umbrella-like poles, calligraphic carvings, and the use of symbolic colors play an important role in conveying Islamic messages and educational values. The harmonious interior and exterior design creates a solemn and calm atmosphere, supporting worship and spiritual reflection. Through this research, it is hoped that it can contribute to religious and architectural literature and strengthen the role of mosques as centers of da'wah and education in local communities. The Ar-Rahman Mosque, with its combination of the beauty of Islamic architectural art and its comprehensive function, serves as an important cultural and spiritual heritage for the community in Blitar City. Abstract

Sustainable tourism is a comprehensive strategy that aims to improve the quality of life by ensuring a balanced approach in the provision, development and preservation of natural and cultural resources for future generations. This study examines the prospects for sustainable tourism in Aileu District, Timor-Leste, specifically in Seloi Malere village which consists of six hamlets rich in natural beauty and cultural heritage. Using a phenomenological approach, the study explores the experiences and perceptions of local communities regarding the opportunities and challenges associated with tourism development, focusing on important sites such as Dili Vanili and Rai Mutin. The study findings indicate that although these locations have significant natural beauty and great economic potential, they are hampered by factors such as inadequate digital promotion, lack of infrastructure and uncertainty regarding future land use. The study recommends strengthening marketing efforts through social media, improving infrastructure and developing additional facilities to attract tourists and increase local income. Active involvement of local communities, together with strong government support, is identified as essential to maximizing these opportunities and realizing sustainable tourism in the region.

Abstract

Clickbait has become a popular strategy for attracting readers' attention in the digital era, but it often disregards fundamental principles of clear and informative headline writing. This study aims to analyze errors in the Subject, Predicate, Object, and Adverbial (SPOK) structure of clickbait headlines frequently used by online media. The research focuses on identifying incompleteness or inaccuracies in SPOK elements within these headlines and their impact on readers’ comprehension and perception. Using a qualitative descriptive analysis method with a linguistic approach, the study examines data from news headlines on various digital media platforms. The findings reveal that many clickbait headlines exhibit incomplete SPOK structures, such as the absence of an object or predicate, leading to ambiguous or unclear information. These errors can diminish media credibility as readers feel deprived of relevant or in-depth information from the presented headlines. Furthermore, incomplete SPOK elements create a gap between the news content and readers’ expectations, disrupting the effectiveness of journalistic communication. This research underscores the importance of fostering more responsible journalistic practices, particularly in crafting news headlines. By improving the SPOK structure in clickbait, media outlets can enhance the quality of information delivered, strengthen readers' trust, and support media literacy in the digital era.

Abstract

This paper examines the utilization of interactive religious art to disseminate moral teachings and foster a sense of social responsibility among student cultists in Nigerian higher educational institutions. It expands the current literature by examining art as a medium for moral reformation. It addresses a geographical deficiency in Nigerian higher educational institutions, specifically those governed by the Nigerian government. Through extant literature, observations, and interviews, this research employs a mixed-methods approach to evaluate the efficacy of interactive religious art in fostering moral behaviour among Nigerian student cultists. The study indicates that interactive religious art can significantly contribute to moral reforming among student cultists by offering a distinctive and compelling platform for reflections, dialogue, and transformation. It is recommended that future research should investigate the impact that interactive religious artwork has on moral regeneration among a wide range of demographics, such as cultists, students in secondary school, employees of the civil service, and younger people.
