This study conducted in- depth interviews using the snowball technique to 14 informants, 9 people as subject informants, and 5 people as non-subject informants. Interviews were conducted using interview guidelines and resulted in the finding that several factors that became the background of changes in the types of payment transactions were the desire to always look up to date, the convenience and practicality of cashless payments, and the many benefits obtained during non-cash payments. Meanwhile, there are two categories of cashless behavior in the upper-middle class Net Generation women in Surabaya, namely the upper- middle class net generation who transact in full cashless and the second category is the upper- middle-class net generation who transact cashless according to profit. Abstract

Abstract Song lyrics play an important role in conveying social and environmental messages to the public. This study analyzes the lyrics of Navicula’s songs as a reflection and influence on social discourse regarding the environmental crisis. Using a critical discourse analysis method, this research examines how Navicula's lyrics depict ecological issues such as deforestation, wildlife exploitation, urban pollution, and environmental degradation. The findings reveal that Navicula's lyrics not only represent the reality of the environmental crisis but also serve as an advocacy tool that fosters collective awareness and promotes social action. Through the use of straightforward, metaphorical, and ironic language, Navicula’s songs effectively critique unsustainable environmental policies and challenge the concept of green capitalism. These findings contribute to the advancement of knowledge in the field of education, particularly in utilizing music as a critical learning medium for environmental awareness. By understanding how song lyrics can build ecological consciousness, this study provides new insights for educators in developing art-based teaching methods to enhance students' understanding of environmental issues. Abstract

This paper identifies the increasing tension between traditional African sexual ethics and contemporary human rights discourse in addressing sexual and reproductive challenges across global societies. Such tensions include conflicts over traditional marriage structures, gender roles, sexual identity, and reproductive autonomy amongst others. As a result of these ethical conflicts, human sexuality relationships are not only strained but communitarian wisdom is marginalized as orientations of indigenous sexual ethics are not given attention in human rights policies, the resultant sexual problems and even the solutions provided to address them. The objective of this paper is to show the relevance of African communitarian personhood, through its relational perspective with its attendant sexual values, in addressing certain sexual ethical problems confronting global societies and the world at large. The methods adopted in this paper are philosophical hermeneutics and philosophical analysis in order to understand the orientation of sexual ethics among African communitarian traditions and also to interpret them with the aim of showing their particular and universal relevance, both in African societies and beyond. The paper concludes that a collaborative approach between indigenous sexual values of African communitarianism and the relational aspects of contemporary human rights frameworks would avert individualistic sexual ethics which is a major source of the sexual ethical problems. The approach must be critically rooted in the indigenous communitarian system of African personhood for a more participatory outcome in addressing sexual ethical challenges.

The Sumenep style Puspawarna Dance, in the form of a women's group dance, supported by five dancers, has the theme of offerings, which depicts the girls performing offerings as an expression of gratitude, a request for welfare, and salvation (reject reinforcements). This article aims to reveal about the construction of the Sumenep style Puspawarna Dance form as a result of the transformation of dance movement patterns in Madura topêng dhâlâng performances. The process of movement transformation in the Sumenep Style Puspawarna Dance is carried out through the adoption of several basic movement patterns of male dance in topêng dhâlâng, then adapted or changed to suit the concept of dance forms and themes through distortion and stylization techniques. The results of movement transformation in Puspawarna Dance can enrich the diversity of patterns and movement techniques of Madurese style princess dance, especially Sumenep style. Abstract

Abstract This study examines the performativity of power relations within the social movement of Pati citizens through a critical discourse analysis of content posted on the Instagram account @wargapati_, in response to the policies of Regent Sudewo. Employing Norman Fairclough’s critical discourse analysis framework, the research investigates how textual, discursive, and social practices intersect to construct citizen representation, digital resistance, and the articulation of collective identity among the people of Pati. The data analyzed in this study consist of visual posts, captions, and digital interactions collected during the pivotal period of the social movement on August 13, 2025. The findings reveal that @wargapati_ serves not only as a space for free expression but also as a performative arena where citizens negotiate their position in relation to the local government of Pati Regency. Through visual, narrative, and affective strategies, the account reflects tensions between governmental policies and citizen aspirations, while simultaneously fostering a form of digital solidarity that is both disruptive and transformative. This research underscores the significance of social media—particularly Instagram—as a site of political articulation for Pati citizens and advocates for more participatory approaches in understanding the dynamics of power relations and resistance in the digital age Keywords: Social Movement, Power Relations, Discourse and Digital

Abstract

This article reassesses the dynamics of women’s political participation, digital mobilization, and the rise of hateful extremism during Indonesia’s 2019 presidential election, demonstrating their continued relevance in the country’s current digital-political landscape. Using Critical Discourse Analysis supported by interviews with politicians, journalists, and activists, as well as field observations from 2014 to post-2019, the study reveals how e-political campaigns strategically instrumentalized religious narratives, familial values, and gendered emotional appeals to mobilize conservative women at unprecedented scale. Women’s participation in the 212 Movement and related “Aksi Bela Islam” actions illustrates how female supporters became central actors in amplifying identity-based grievances and online hate speech, contributing to heightened polarization and, ultimately, the May 2019 post-election riots. To contextualize these findings in the present era, the article incorporates updated insights from Indonesia’s 2024 electoral environment, marked by a significant rise in disinformation—over 1,292 reported cases—and the increasing use of Artificial Intelligence (AI) in political communication. While digital mobilization in 2019 relied heavily on viral messaging, moral panic, and influencer-driven polarization, the 2024 election cycle demonstrates a technological shift: AI-generated images, synthetic personas, and automated content now intensify narrative manipulation and accelerate the spread of hate speech. These developments show that the mechanisms enabling women’s mobilization and digital extremism during the 2019 election have not disappeared; they have instead evolved through more sophisticated technological tools. By integrating perspectives from gender studies, political communication, and digital media, this study argues that Indonesia’s democratic vulnerabilities are deeply shaped by the intersection of gendered mobilization, religious identity politics, and rapidly advancing information technologies. The article concludes that the lessons of 2019 should be understood not as historical artifacts but as foundational patterns that continue to influence Indonesia’s electoral dynamics and digital political behavior today.
