Abstract

This study discusses the phenomenon of spring-back and spring-go in the bending kinematic forming using V-bending dies process and Electrolytic zinc-coated steel sheet (SECC/JIS G 3313) material. The zinc layer on the galvanized steel surface should not be damaged during the material forming process. The zinc layer on the galvanized steel sheet will affect the metal forming process. This study uses an experimental design with four input parameters, namely v-die opening L (mm), punch angle (degree), punch speed (mm/minutes), and bending force (kN). The smallest spring-back was obtained in the 4th test sample: the v-die opening of 35 mm, the punch angle of 40o, the punch speed of 30 mm/minute, and the bending force of 7.50 kN. The minor spring-back degree was 1.67o. Meanwhile, the smallest spring-go obtained in the second sample, namely the v-die opening of 30 mm, the punch angle of 50o, the punch speed of 40 mm/minute, and the bending force of 7.00 kN, the minor spring-go degree of 0.92o was obtained. These results show that the best spring-back degree for SECC/JIS G 3313 material is obtained when the bending process is performed with the v-die bending parameter of 30 mm, punch angle of 50o, punch speed of 40 mm/minute, and bending force of 7.00 kN.

Abstract

Today's cybercrime methods are extremely diverse. The methods employed by attackers are becoming more diverse and intricate. Malicious software, commonly referred to as malware, is utilized in these various attacks. Malware threats and their propagation can be accomplished in several different ways. Good governance facilitates prevention via migration, assisting the security team and network infrastructure IT. This paper discusses efforts to enhance the security of the Simple Network Time Protocol (SNTP) to detect cybercrime on the network. Based on the results of the conducted experiments, we determined that by updating the Simple Network Time Protocol, implementing the client-server antivirus, and scanning every client connected to the local network or centrally, we could detect the types of attacks that frequently occur on the network system, thereby protecting all client computers from malware, viruses, worms, and Trojan horses. Based on the antivirus migration data, the employed research method can find information on cybercrimes that involve malware that enters the network and is successfully cleaned or quarantined before being automatically blocked.

Abstract

One of the manufacturing companies in the automotive industry produces motor vehicle components, including engines. Compared to other spare parts, the engine plays a crucial role in vehicle operation. The primary purpose of the engine is to generate rotary power through the combustion of the air and fuel mixture contained within it. Therefore, optimal engine performance must be considered for the perfection of motorized vehicles, and external supporting factors that contribute to optimal engine performance must be identified. If this external supporting factor correlates with the used variables, it can be identified as a suppressor variable. A suppressor variable can improve engine performance by increasing the value of the coefficient of determination. The objectives of this study are to determine the type of suppressor variable and whether the suppressor variable can affect the performance of a car engine. According to the findings of this study, tire size (positive net suppression) and digital tuning (negative classical suppression) are suppressor variables that can influence the enhancement of automobile engine performance

Abstract

One of the problems encountered by a laboratory with a small-scale wind tunnel facility is that the wind tunnel can only produce limited wind speed to simulate fluid behavior that passes through a tested object. This problem caused the laboratory to be unable to analyze fluid behavior that passed through a tested object. In that case, scale modeling to analyze fluid behavior at a certain speed without having to reach the actual speed is needed. The purpose of this research is to prove the passive grid addition effect on turbulence in a small-scale wind tunnel. The test is done by capturing smoke movement through the test section with and without a grid. Then analyze the collected data with SynthEyes software. The wind speed variation used in this research is between 0.5 and 6.0 m/s. The result of this research is that the smoke flow characteristic in a wind tunnel without a grid tends to be laminar flow, and the smoke flow in a wind tunnel with a grid tends to be turbulence flow. Smoke flow characteristics with a grid are still too far from smoke flow characteristics without a grid with the highest speed variation.

Abstract

A custom spray coating refill equipment has been designed and fabrication. For this reason, it is necessary to trial the equipment that has been made. This study aims to determine the performance of custom spray coating refill equipment. For a comparison parameter, coating and thinner mixture variations were conducted to determine the adhesion and thickness of the coating layer formed. The coating used in this experiment was Nitrocellulose (NC) and Polyurethane (PU) thinner. The ratio of coating and thinner mixture used are 1:1.5, 1:2, and 1:2.5. After mixing, the mixture was put into the sprayer using custom spray paint refill equipment. The mixture of coating and thinner was sprayed onto the SPCC steel plate. To measure, the adhesion and thickness of the coating layers, a cross-cut tool (according to ASTM-D3359) and a thickness gauge (according to the ASTM-AMT15) were carried out respectively. It seems the spray paint refill equipment was functioning properly. This is due to the quality of the coating layers having good adhesion, shown by all specimens getting 5B classification (0% not peeled off). Moreover, an increase in the thinner composition is lead to a decrease in the coating thickness.

Abstract

This study uses a numerical method to analyze the cavity's use on the airfoil's trailing edge and the aerodynamic effects it generates. The type of airfoil used is NACA 4415. The variations in the Reynolds number examined in this study are 2×105 and 3×105. The governing equation is the Reynolds Averaged Navier-Stokes paired with the k-ε turbulence model. This study concludes that the cavity can increase Cl in the airfoil but cannot delay the stall. The increase in Cd is also a negative effect of using a cavity in the airfoil. The cavity can increase Cl by increasing the pressure on the lower side near the trailing edge. Meanwhile, the cavity increases Cd because it creates a separation of the fluid flow, forming a vortex when viewed in a streamlined form of fluid flow.

Abstract

The wheels of electric rail cars are an essential component of rail transportation when they are in use. At the time of inspection, the technician discovered damage to the wheel's surface. This is due to the hardening of the brake block, which damages the wheel's surface. This research was conducted with the purpose of analyzing the causes of damage to the tread surface of the wheels and identifying a suitable replacement for the original brake block, which is no longer manufactured and has been replaced by imitation block brakes. so that further action can be taken to prevent similar occurrences in the future. Using the Vickers hardness test indentation method, the purpose of this study is to examine various heat treatments for determining a material's hardness level. The test results indicate that the VHN value increases with increasing heating temperature. The original specimen produced 99.5 VHN in the first test without heat treatment, while the X block brake produced 26.9 VHN and the Y brake produced 136.0 VHN. The second test with 200°C heat treatment on the original specimen yielded 96.8 VHN, 73.1 VHN from the X block, and 152.9 VHN from the Y block. In addition, the third test with 400°C heat treatment on the original specimen produced 92.4 VHN, 47.8 VHN for the X block brake, and 268.3 VHN for the Y block brake. The Vickers Hardness Test (VHN) hardness value is affected by heat treatment; the higher the heating value, the higher the hardness value of the remolok specimen.

Abstract

Cerebral palsy is caused by brain damage that manifests as motor dysfunction. The most prevalent form of cerebral palsy is spastic diplegia, which causes walking difficulties. People with cerebral palsy, particularly children, require mobility aids, such as wheelchairs, to perform daily tasks. When designing wheelchairs for children with cerebral palsy, ergonomic evaluation is required to ensure that the resulting wheelchair is safe and will not pose a risk in the future. This paper investigates the use of digital human modeling to evaluate the ergonomics of wheelchairs for children with cerebral palsy. The method is used to collect samples from 5 to 18-year-old children with cerebral palsy. Digital human modeling is used to simulate and evaluate ergonomics using anthropometric data. The results obtained for the wheelchair dimensions are suitable for the 95th percentile value, while the seat length exceeds the popliteal length for the 50th percentile value. The ergonomic evaluation yielded satisfactory results for the lower back analysis parameter, and the comfort evaluation yielded satisfactory results for the 95th percentile value. In contrast, the 5th percentile value indicates knee discomfort in both the right and left knee.
