Abstract

Retail companies in the digital era must continue to innovate to improve customer experience and service quality. This study aims to analyze the effect of customer experience on service quality through product publications on the Alfagift application. Employing a quantitative approach, this study uses Structural Equation Modeling - Partial Least Squares (SEM-PLS) to analyze data from 150 Alfagift users in Limo District, Depok City. The results showed that customer experience significantly affected service quality (β = 0.565, p < 0.05), indicating that positive experiences increase customer perceptions of service quality. In addition, customer experience also significantly impacted product publications (β = 0.818, p < 0.05), stating that well-managed experiences result in more effective product communication. Product publications act as a mediating variable that strengthens the relationship between customer experience and service quality (β = 0.251, p < 0.05). These findings support the Customer Experience and Service Quality Theory (SERVQUAL) and enrich digital marketing studies. The practical implication of this study is that Alfamart needs to optimize its product publication strategy to increase customer engagement and strengthen service quality.

Abstract

Despite the importance of information transparency, many institutions face underappreciated challenges when implementing transparent practices. This study seeks to systematically identify barriers to information openness and proposes actionable strategies to address them. This study utilizes a qualitative approach to uncover multifaceted public information challenges. The findings advocate for an integrated approach to overcoming these hurdles. Key recommendations include establishing adaptive data governance protocols aligned with evolving legal standards, adopting scalable technologies that prioritize both accessibility and security, and cultivating organizational cultures that reframe transparency as a shared responsibility rather than a risk. The study concludes that sustained transparency requires ongoing adaptation to technological advancements and societal expectations, positioning it not as a static goal but as a dynamic component of organizational resilience. Implications: By embracing these challenges, organizations can successfully navigate the complexities of information transparency and gain the advantages of enhanced stakeholders’ relationships and informed decision-making.

Abstract

This study investigates the transformative practices of data journalism in Indonesian hyperlocal media post-COVID-19, focusing on Nexteen Media and Tutura.id in Central Sulawesi. Through in-depth interviews with editorial leaders, data journalists, and data visualization staff, this study examines the development of these practices. Findings suggest that both outlets leveraged the pandemic to innovate with data-driven reporting. Nexteen Media developed interactive data visualizations to engage younger audiences, while Tutura.id prioritized verified, narrative data reporting to enhance credibility. Both maintained traditional news values, such as geographic proximity and novelty, to attract audience attention. Despite challenges like limited data access and insufficient technical skills, both outlets remain committed to advancing data journalism. This research fills a gap in the literature on data journalism in Indonesian hyperlocal media. Theoretically, it affirms the relevance of traditional news values in the digital era. Practically, it recommends technical skills training and advocacy for open data access to strengthen credibility and impact in local journalism.

Abstract

Cancel culture has become a significant influence in Indonesia’s digital entertainment sphere. This study investigates how the cancel culture surrounding the Indonesian remake of A Business Proposal emerges and diffuses across social media networks. This study aims to identify network structures, central actors, and the dissemination of moral discourse among users.  This study uses a social network analysis approach supported by sentiment and lexical analyses from 515 tweets, which were harvested using a Python-based script from the 1st of January until the 19th of February 2025, and visualized using Gephi. Data were cleaned (deduplication, language filtering, token cleaning), a user–interaction network was constructed, and centrality plus community detection were applied. The findings reveal five major clusters and a zero betweenness value, indicating strong interconnectedness and the absence of intermediaries. The dominant cluster, led by kdrama_menfess, amplified evaluative narratives shaped by fandom identity and cultural expectations. Sentiment is largely neutral, with salient negative cues tied to casting and adaptation quality. Cancel culture here functions as networked moral regulation driven by fandom solidarity and enabled by Computer-Mediated Communication within Castells’ Network Society. The findings clarify how audience expectations, affect, and network structure jointly shape acceptance of local adaptations, offering practical cues for casting, promotion, and community management in Indonesia’s film industry.

Abstract

Toxic relationships, characterized by patterns of domination, manipulation, and recurrent conflict, can significantly damage individuals’ emotional well-being and shape unhealthy attachment styles. However, research gaps remain regarding how young adults who have experienced toxic romantic relationships reflect on their attachment patterns and how these patterns evolve in subsequent relationships. This research aims to explore the experiences of young adults who have survived toxic relationships and to understand how these experiences influenced their attachment styles and interpersonal communication patterns. Using a qualitative approach with Interpretative Phenomenological Analysis (IPA), data were collected through semi-structured interviews with three informants aged 24–32 years who had ended toxic relationships at least one year prior. The results reveal that all informants initially experienced positive communication and affection with their partners, but later faced controlling, aggressive, or manipulative behaviors that led to insecure attachment styles characterized by fear, dependence, and lack of autonomy. The research concludes that toxic relationships leave a strong impact on attachment styles and negatively affect the victims’ mental well-being. However, further analysis of interview data reveals that individuals can develop healthier patterns when they gain awareness and engage in more constructive communication in future relationships. These findings have both theoretical and practical implications to enrich understanding of Attachment Theory in the context of toxic romantic relationships among young adults and offer valuable insights for counselors, therapists, and educators to support survivors in rebuilding secure, healthy interpersonal relationships.

Abstract

The Suku Anak Dalam (SAD) in Jambi is a remote indigenous community that continues to uphold ancestral traditions, including animistic beliefs, while facing complex social and economic challenges. Various empowerment programs have been implemented, yet their effectiveness remains limited, particularly in terms of communication. Top-down communication patterns used by stakeholders often overlook local needs, aspirations, and Indigenous knowledge, which should serve as the basis for development rooted in local wisdom. This study examines how communication patterns and stakeholder involvement influence the social solidarity of the SAD community. Using a mixed-methods approach, data were collected from 107 respondents through surveys, in-depth interviews, and participatory observation, and analyzed with SMART PLS 4.0. The findings show that communication patterns significantly shape the level of social solidarity among the SAD. Stakeholders do not have a direct influence on social solidarity; however, they contribute indirectly by enhancing community participation, which subsequently affects social cohesion. The key factor reinforcing social solidarity is the communication pattern itself. These results highlight that traditional and modern forms of communication and interaction play a more effective role in strengthening social cohesion within the SAD than direct stakeholder interventions.

This article explores how the internet can enhance Situ Bolang tourism's public recognition through digital storytelling, which necessitates a compelling narrative to showcase its advantages and attract the interest of potential visitors to visit Situ Bolang. Moreover, the internet has developed digital platforms that can be utilised to enhance the brand positioning of the Situ Bolang agroedutourism area through storytelling. Therefore, the research problem raised is strengthening the brand positioning of Situ Bolang agroedutourism in developing sustainable tourism based on storytelling using digital platforms. In terms of research methodology, this study employed both experimental and participant observation methods. Each approach utilises a SWOT analysis to describe the storytelling strategy. First, a data-driven storytelling strategy describes the strengths and advantages of using the Agroedutourism concept. Second, the philanthropic storytelling strategy explains the development of the idea into a tourist destination that the whole family can visit. Third, a customer-led storytelling strategy addresses the existing threat related to damaged road access. The implementation of all three strategies, as showcased in a YouTube video featuring a character named Bastian, highlights the uniqueness, facilities, and attractions to enjoy at Situ Bolang, as well as conducting interviews to gather testimonials from visitors. This condition certainly strengthens Situ Bolang's brand positioning as a suitable destination for families, thanks to the numerous activities available.

Abstract

In this digital age, interpersonal communication has been shifted massively to social media, including the culinary field, which is inseparable from the role of food vloggers. Widy Hartono, a local food vlogger, is notable for his ability to build rapport with his followers through informative, personal, and consistent content. The purpose of this study was to examine communication practices through computer-mediated communication on the Instagram account @widyhartono, owned and managed by Widy Hartono. The descriptive qualitative research method was employed in this study through data collection techniques, including interviews, observations, and documentation. The results showed that, according to Social Information Processing Theory, three key aspects had emerged. The first was interpersonal communication, which reflected an interest in using social media. In publishing information, Hartono's Instagram account tends to emphasize a friendly persona and nonverbal communication online through emoticons. The second aspect was the interpersonal perspective, reflected in regular publishing content that presented a friendly and approachable persona. The third one was hyper-personal communication, where Widi Hartono argued that communication carried out using social media and face-to-face is identical, depending on the individual's personality and the context in which the message is conveyed. In conclusion, the strategy analysis for using Instagram by @widyhartono was to provide information that is more enjoyable and easier for the audience to understand, to approach the audience on social media so that they don't get bored, and to stay consistent in publishing and following a specific schedule for the content to be published.
