Abstract

This study aimed to determine the effect of dysmenorrhea exercises on reducing primary menstrual pain (dysmenorrhea) in female students at State Vocational High School 2 Gorontalo. The method used was a quantitative study with a quasi-experimental design using a non-equivalent control group. The results showed that before the dysmenorrhea exercises, the median pain level in the intervention group was 9.00, and after the exercises, it decreased to 6.50. In the control group, the median pain level remained at 8.00. The Wilcoxon test for the intervention group yielded a p-value of 0.000 (<0.05), while in the control group, a p-value of 0.655 (>0.05). The Mann-Whitney test results obtained a p-value of 0.001 (<0.05), indicating a difference in pain reduction between the intervention and control groups. The conclusion of this study shows that dysmenorrhea exercises are effective in reducing primary menstrual pain (dysmenorrhea) in female students at SMK Negeri 2 Gorontalo, so it can be used as a non-pharmacological therapy to reduce menstrual pain in adolescent girls.   Keywords: Primary Dysmenorrhea, Menstrual Pain, Adolescent Girls, Dysmenorrhea Exercises

Abstract

This study aimed to analyze the association between self-stigma, self-efficacy, and adherence to Anti-Tuberculosis Drug (ATD) treatment among pulmonary tuberculosis patients. This study employed a quantitative research design with a cross-sectional approach. The results showed a significant association between self-stigma and adherence to ATD treatment (p-value < 0.05), as well as a significant association between self-efficacy and adherence to ATD treatment (p-value < 0.05). In conclusion, self-stigma and self-efficacy are psychological factors associated with adherence to ATD treatment among pulmonary tuberculosis patients. Lower levels of self-stigma and higher levels of self-efficacy are associated with better patient adherence throughout the course of treatment.   Keywords: Medication Adherence, Pulmonary Tuberculosis, Self-Efficacy, Self-Stigma

Abstract

This study aims to determine the relationship between hypertension levels and the incidence of recurrent ischemic stroke in ischemic stroke patients at Dr. M.M. Dunda Limboto Regional General Hospital and Hasri Ainun Habibie Regional General Hospital. The method used was quantitative with an observational analytical design and a cross-sectional approach. The study population consisted of 225 ischemic stroke patients, with a sample of 70 respondents selected using a purposive sampling technique. Data were obtained from medical records using a checklist and analyzed using the Chi-Square test. The results showed that the majority of respondents experienced grade 3 hypertension (38 respondents (54.3%), and recurrent ischemic stroke (39 respondents (55.7%). Of the 39 respondents who experienced recurrent ischemic stroke, 28 respondents (71.8%) were in the grade 3 hypertension category. The Chi-Square test results showed a p-value of 0.001 (p<0.05), indicating a significant relationship between hypertension levels and the incidence of recurrent ischemic stroke. In conclusion, the higher the degree of hypertension, the greater the risk of recurrent ischemic stroke. Blood pressure control is necessary to prevent stroke recurrence.   Keywords: Degree of Hypertension, Ischemic Stroke, Recurrent Ischemic Stroke
