Abstract

This study aims to prevent complications after laparotomy surgery and provide an overview of the education needed for patients and families. The method used is a case report of a patient after laparotomy on day 8 of treatment with colon cancer with a stoma attached. The results showed that the patient had a better quality of life with the comfort of the dressing provided and a decrease in the pain scale. In conclusion, the importance of involving the family in care, education, and interprofessional collaboration is the key to successful treatment to prevent the further impact of acute wounds becoming chronic wounds, resulting in longer patient days. Abstract

This study aims to determine the factors associated with proactive behavior in the handover process in the intensive care unit of RSUD Aceh. The method used is a cross-sectional study. Data were analyzed using chi-square and logistic regression analysis with the Backward stepwise test. The results showed that 100 out of 124 respondents were in the category of strong proactive behavior. The results of the chi-square test showed that proactive personality (p-value 0.041), self-efficacy (p-value 0.002) and learning orientation (p-value 0.013) had a relationship with nurses' proactive attitude in carrying out handovers. The results of the logistic regression test showed that the most dominant factor related to the proactive behavior of nurses in carrying out handovers was self-efficacy, with a significance value of 0.020 and an odds ratio of 5.419. In conclusion, self-efficacy is the most significant factor related to the proactive behavior of nurses in the handover process in the intensive care unit of the Aceh General Hospital. Abstract

This study aims to identify variables that are related to job satisfaction during the COVID-19 pandemic. The research design used descriptive correlation with a cross-sectional approach. The method used is a purposive sampling technique with a sample of 185 nurses who work in the inpatient and outpatient rooms of Hospital X. Data collection uses a questionnaire in the form of google form. The results showed that there was no significant relationship between the characteristics of gender, education, marital status, work unit and career path, work experience and job satisfaction of nurses. However, the variables of age, head coaching competence and motivation have a significant relationship with nurse job satisfaction. As for the multivariate results, the constant value obtained is -0.5841, with the variables that influence coaching and motivation. In conclusion, the job satisfaction of implementing nurses during the COVID-19 pandemic is still low and the variables related to job satisfaction of nurses during the COVID-19 pandemic are coaching and motivation. Abstract

This study aims to determine the relationship between stress levels and the online learning system for the Muhammadiyah Bengkulu University Nursing Study Program students during the COVID-19 pandemic. The research method was analyzed univariately by looking at the frequency distribution and bivariate analysis using the Kendal tau-b correlation test. The results showed a correlation between stress levels and the online learning system of 0.648 with a strong relationship and the direction of the positive correlation and the value of Sig. (2-tailed) of 0.000 < 0.005. In conclusion, there is a relationship between stress levels and online learning systems for the Bengkulu Muhammadiyah University Nursing Science Study Program students during the COVID-19 pandemic. Abstract

This study aims to determine the impact of the COVID-19 pandemic situation on children's growth and development. The method used is a systematic study examining 11 articles related to the effects of the COVID-19 pandemic on children's growth and development using ProQuest, CINAHL, Wiley, PubMed and ScienceDirect. The results showed that the COVID-19 pandemic had an impact on children's growth, social development of children's independence, language, fine motor skills, and gross motor skills. In conclusion, the destructive effects experienced by children while at home are stress, no opportunity to play with friends, reduced activity, weight gain, longer sleep time, increased sitting time and increased screen time. The good impact of this pandemic on individual children is that there is a positive adaptation to the process of growth and development through the maturation process and the social bonding of children and parents becomes closer. Abstract

This study aims to identify the effect of family empowerment intervention on the self-care of patients with type 2 diabetes mellitus. The research method used was quantitative with a Quasy Experimental Non-Equivalent Control Group Pretest-Postest Design. Respondents in this study were patients with type 2 diabetes mellitus totaling 70 respondents. Data were collected using the Summary of Diabetes Self Care Activities (SDSCA) questionnaire consisting of 14 question items. Data were analyzed using parametric tests (paired t-test and t-test for independent groups). The results of this study indicate a difference between the mean value of self-care in the intervention group and the control group after being given treatment with a p-value of 0.001 (t = -19,027; p-value = 0.001). In conclusion, family empowerment intervention affects self-care in DMT2 patients. Keywords: Type 2 Diabetes Mellitus, Family Empowerment, Self Care

Abstract

This study aims to determine the effect of education and interactive nursing reminder based on Whatsapp with a self-management approach on quality of life and medication adherence in TB patients. The method used in this study is a quasi-experimental type, with a pre-test and post-test control group design carried out at the Puskesmas in the work area of ​​the Pangkep District Health Office. The sample in this study was selected by simple random sampling. The results showed that the patient's quality of life and adherence to medication for TB in the intervention and control groups was p = 0.000 (< 0.05), meaning that there were significant differences in the quality of life of patients and adherence to medication for TB patients between the treatment group and the control group. In conclusion, education and interactive nursing reminder based on Whatsapp with a self-management approach significantly affect the patient's quality of life and adherence to medication for TB patients. Abstract

This study aims to analyze the effectiveness of video in improving students' therapeutic communication. The method used is a literature review study utilizing several databases such as PubMed, Proquest and Google Scholar. The results showed that students' therapeutic communication increased after using video. In conclusion, therapeutic communication can effectively improve students' knowledge, attitudes, skills after education and skills about therapeutic communication. Abstract

This study aimed to examine several studies on early screening and prevention of the risk of developing Deep Vein Thrombosis (DVT). The method used in this literature review consists of 4 stages: (1) identification of the search for journal articles; (2) identification of literary works based on title, abstract, and purpose; (3) inclusion criteria; (4) complete and specific texts are available according to the purpose of the review. The process of searching for journal articles using Google Scholar, ScienceDirect, DOAJ, Scopus, ProQuest, Ebsco and Pubmed. The results showed that most early DVT screenings used ultrasound as a non-pharmacological DVT detection and prevention tool, the most frequently used was compression stockings. In conclusion, compression stockings are more effective in preventing DVT. Keywords: Early Detection, DVT, Bed Rest

Abstract

This study aims to assess stress levels, mental health, depression and anxiety in nursing students during the COVID-19 pandemic. The method used in this study is a literature study on the PubMed, ScienceDirect, Scilit, Proquest and Google Scholar databases. The results show that the COVID-19 disease outbreak has become a threat to global health. Its spread which continues to this day, greatly affects the education sector. Students carry out coping strategies to avoid factors that can reduce their mental health conditions. In conclusion, students have a higher stress level than female students. However, in general, the respondents had normal levels of depression, normal levels of anxiety, normal stress levels and did not have clinically significant insomnia.
