Abstract

This study aims to analyze the influence of caring-based emergency training on the professional competence of emergency nurses. The method used is quantitative with a quasi-experiment design (pre-post test with control group design). The research results showed that the caring-based emergency training given to the intervention group significantly influenced nurses' professional competence (p=0.000). The data testing results between groups after being given the intervention showed a significant change in the professional competence of nurses (p=0.000). In conclusion, caring-based emergency training effectively increases the professional competence of emergency nurses at RSUD Dr. Soetomo, Surabaya. An increase in nurse competency scores in both primary and secondary surveys demonstrates this. Keywords: Caring, Emergency, Professional Competency, Emergency Training, Nurse

Abstract

This research aims to summarize the factors related to self-care management in chronic kidney disease (CKD) patients. A literature search was conducted using six databases: Pubmed, Scopus, EBSCOhost, Wiley Online Library, Taylor & Francis, and Garuda. The keywords used were "chronic kidney disease" AND "self-care management" OR "self-care behaviors" OR "self-care practices." The quality of the articles was assessed using the Critical Appraisal Skill Program (CASP) instrument. The search yielded 11 articles included in the review. We identified factors related to self-care management in CKD patients, including individual characteristics, health literacy, self-efficacy, CKD stages, family and peer support, healthcare facility support, and psychological factors. In conclusion, understanding the factors related to self-care management in CKD patients can assist healthcare professionals in comprehending the variables that contribute to CKD patient self-care management from various aspects, leading to improved quality of life, cost savings in treatment, and reduced hospitalization rates. Keywords: Chronic Kidney Disease, Self-Care Behaviors, Self-Care Management, and Self-Care Practices.

Abstract

This study aims to develop a clinical pathway for hemorrhagic stroke patients based on the 3S (SDKI, SLKI, SIKI). The method used is Research and Development with stages including literature study, observation evaluation, validity and reliability testing, and Focus Group Discussion (FGD). The research results show that developing a 3S-based hemorrhagic stroke clinical pathway is by clinical practice guidelines and service quality. The results of Pearson's product-moment correlation test are <0.514, and the reliability of the Cronbach alpha test is 0.906. Conclusion: The development of a 3S-based hemorrhagic stroke clinical pathway was prepared with nursing diagnoses, including ineffective airway clearance, decreased intracranial adaptive capacity, acute pain, impaired physical mobility, and risk of fluid imbalance. The development of a 3S-based hemorrhagic stroke clinical pathway is generally in good categories in terms of Functionality, Efficiency, and Usability so that it can be recommended for use by nurses and can improve the quality of hospital services. Abstract

This literature review aims to summarize research results regarding risk factors for restraint in hospitalized mental disorder patients. The literature search used seven databases, namely PuBmed, EBSCOhost, ProQuest, ScienceDirect, Garuda; Google Scholar; and Wiley in the 2013-2023 range. As a result of the research, eleven studies were included in the review, where increased restraint risk factors were divided into three: 1) sociodemographic characteristics (immigrant patients, male, young age, married, rural background, and low socioeconomic); 2) clinical factors (active and aggressive behavior, psychotic/bipolar disorders, cognitive and mood disorders, previous psychiatric disorders, long hospitalization and previous hospitalization, and alcohol/drug dependence); 3) referral factors (forced referrals from emergency departments, from outpatient centers/private doctors, and police referrals). In conclusion, there are three factors that can increase the risk of restraint, namely: sociodemographic characteristics, patient clinical factors, and referral factors. Abstract

This study aims to summarize previous research findings on strategies to enhance patient safety reporting culture in hospitals using a literature review method through searching seven databases (PubMed, EBSCOhost, ProQuest, ScienceDirect, Garuda, and Google Scholar) spanning from 2013 to 2023. Result, Ten studies met the criteria, resulting in the identification of eleven strategies to enhance patient safety reporting culture in hospitals. These strategies include: feedback, interprofessional collaboration and communication, non-punitive response to errors, clear standards or guidelines, patient safety training, simplification of procedures, increasing nurse awareness and socialization of mandatory reporting incidents, implementing a learning from mistakes approach, transparency, implementation of an implementation framework, and expectations and promotion of patient safety by superiors. Abstract

This literature review aims to summarize the results of research regarding the implementation of delegation of clinical authority to nurses in hospitals. Literature search using five databases PubMed, ProQuest, ScienceDirect, Google Scholar and Wiley in the period 2013-2023. Nine studies were included in the review, where the effectiveness of the implementation of delegation of nursing authority could be hampered by three factors: 1) practice standards and policies (clarity of delegation standards, clarity of nurses' duties, transparent supervision); 2) delegation (delegator's fear of responsibility, burdensome delegation tasks, accountability, recognition of the delegate's efforts, education and learning opportunities, expertise, lack of positive incentives, communication and openness of information, trust); 3) situational obstacles (lack of resources, workload and fatigue, important tasks that are difficult to delegate). In conclusion, there are three factors inhibiting the effectiveness of delegation, namely: practice standards and policies, delegation, and situational obstacles. Abstract

The aim of this research is to map research results related to the implementation of effective SBAR communication between nurses and doctors. The research method used, namely Scoping Review, was used to map the literature using PRISMA guidelines. The synthesis method uses PCC modification. Articles obtained from the Google Scholar search engine as well as the electronic databases PubMed and ScienceDirect. Search results, from 87 relevant articles with titles and abstracts, 6 articles were found that met the inclusion and exclusion criteria. The research results found that the analysis of the implementation of effective SBAR communication between nurses and doctors contained seven themes, namely patient safety and satisfaction, lack of self-confidence, environment, lack of interpersonal communication, lack of training, and work safety climate. In conclusion, effective communication and collaboration between doctors and nurses is very necessary in managing and limiting disturbances that can endanger patient safety and the continuity of safe care for at-risk patients.
