Abstract

Agriculture in Indonesia is generally characterized by monoculture planting systems, continuous use of fertilizers and pesticides, increased doses and frequency of application resulting in decreased fertility, structure and biotic balance of the soil, surface water and ground water pollution, are characteristics of agricultural models that are dangerous for the ecosystem and human health. Bio Input is an environmentally friendly agricultural input using existing resources to support agricultural production, economic improvement and conservation of natural resources, as well as the independence and welfare of farmers in a sustainable manner, but there are still many farmers who have not implemented it. The purpose of this activity is to apply agricultural bio-input technology through increasing knowledge and skills to groups of farmers and housewives as a sustainable agricultural action plan in Longalo Village. The methods used are socialization, training and direct practice of product making, while data analysis uses pre-test and post-test techniques. The results obtained show that bio input technology has been implemented by farmer groups and housewives in Longalo Village, as seen from the increase in knowledge and skills in: making eco-enzymes, which initially only 60.50 people knew, to 81.25 people who knew and could make them, making compost, which initially only 67 people knew, to 88.25 people who knew and could make them, and making biopesticides, which initially only 63 people knew, to 85.50 people who knew and could make them.

Abstract

The “Indri Sejahtera” Fisheries Group is a beginner group that produces fishery products, but it has encountered several problems in both production and marketing. The variety of processed fish products is still quite limited, so contemporary innovations are needed to compete in the market. One such innovative product is rambutan fish. Rambutan fish is a processed fish product made by grinding fish meat, shaping it into balls, coating it with dumpling skin strips, and deep-frying it until crispy. When fried, the outer layer stands up, resembling the hair-like strands of a rambutan fruit. This community service activity was carried out using a mentoring approach. This mentoring method was implemented through several stages: the delivery of educational materials, the training on how to make rambutan fish, and the monitoring and evaluation of the activity. The training on processing mackerel into a value-added product—rambutan fish—was successfully conducted at the Indri Sejahtera Poklahsar Tarakan. The material was presented by the speaker in a clear and logical accompanied by a hands-on demonstration of how to prepare “ikan bulan-bulan” as “ikan rambutan,” covering everything from ingredient preparation and dough-making to shaping and frying. Based on the questionnaire results, 93% of participants expressed satisfaction with the training activity, with knowledge increasing from 20% to 100% and participants’ skills improving from 10% before the training to 100%. The training was able to enhance partners’ understanding regarding the utilization of moonfish into diversified processed products. This activity provided insights into scientific knowledge and the application of appropriate technology in producing competitive products.

Abstract

Hypertension is a non-communicable disease (NCD) that often occurs in the elderly. This disease can lead to serious complications if not properly managed. Increasing public knowledge, especially among the elderly, is a strategic step in promotive and preventive efforts to control hypertension. This community service activity aims to increase the elderly's knowledge regarding hypertension management through education using leaflets based on the behavior of "OBEYING and BEING CERMAT." Method: A pretest was conducted on 20 respondents at the Temindung Community Health Center in Samarinda. The leaflets provided information on hypertension, covering risk factors, causes, symptoms, consequences, and lifestyle modifications through the behavior of "OBEYING and BEING CERMAT." A posttest was then conducted to assess the effectiveness of the education provided. Results: A significant increase in respondents' knowledge level, from 10% to 75%, was observed in the good category. Education through leaflets has proven effective in delivering easily understood health information and can increase elderly awareness of independent and sustainable hypertension management. This information is concise and easily understood by the elderly to encourage change.

Abstract

The community service program titled Socialization of Building Awareness of Blue Ecosystem Conservation was carried out on Maitara Island, Tidore Islands City, with the aim of enhancing local fishers’ understanding of blue ecosystems as part of climate change mitigation and adaptation efforts. A participatory approach was applied through lectures, interactive discussions, and field practices involving 30 coastal community participants. Resource persons were drawn from the Provincial Marine and Fisheries Office, the Environmental Agency, Khairun University academics, and the Indonesian Forum for the Environment (WALHI) of North Maluku. The materials presented covered climate change concepts, the strategic role of blue ecosystems—such as mangroves, seagrass beds, and coral reefs—in carbon sequestration, and the importance of community participation in coastal ecosystem conservation. The results indicated an improvement in participants’ awareness and knowledge regarding the ecological and economic functions of blue ecosystems as natural coastal protection and fishery resource support systems. The activity also produced a Memorandum of Understanding (MoU) between the Maitara community, local government, academia, and environmental organizations as a joint commitment to preserve and manage blue ecosystems sustainably. Follow-up activities are recommended through continued mentoring and technology-based training for local fishers and community surveillance groups.

Abstract

The development of digital technology has transformed the way organizations operate, interact, and adapt to an increasingly dynamic environment. Digital transformation is no longer merely an option but a strategic necessity for organizations to remain relevant and competitive. However, many organizations in Indonesia—particularly educational institutions, MSMEs, and community organizations—still face challenges such as limited digital literacy, the absence of well-defined strategies, and a lack of understanding regarding digital risks. These conditions underlie the implementation of a Community Service (PkM) program with the theme “Digital Transformation in Organizations: Strategy, Risk, and Innovation.” The purpose of this program is to provide comprehensive insights to target partners—namely educators, MSME actors, and non-profit managers—on digitalization strategies, risk management, and innovations applicable to their organizational context. The implementation method was carried out through a national webinar that enabled broad participation from across Indonesia, with activities designed to include material presentations, interactive discussions, and evaluations using questionnaires, pre-tests, and post-tests. The results of the program indicated a significant increase in participants’ understanding of the importance of digital roadmaps, awareness of technological risks, and opportunities for digital-based innovation. Participants also demonstrated strong enthusiasm in adopting simple yet relevant technologies, such as digital marketing and cloud-based management. The implication of these results is that digital transformation can be understood and gradually adopted by various types of organizations when provided with appropriate guidance, even with limited resources. Therefore, this PkM initiative is crucial as it not only enhances digital literacy but also encourages organizations in Indonesia to become more adaptive, innovative, and resilient in facing the era of technological disruption.

Abstract

Epilepsy is a neurological disorder characterized by a tendency for recurrent seizures, which can lead to neurobiological, cognitive, psychological, and social consequences. Globally, epilepsy is one of the most common neurological disorders and can result in significant morbidity and mortality. Education about epilepsy plays a crucial role in improving public understanding of the condition, including recognizing seizure triggers and knowing the appropriate initial steps to take during a seizure. This activity aimed to evaluate the effectiveness of epilepsy education among visitors to the neurology clinic at the University of Mataram Hospital. The educational session was conducted through a presentation using visual aids and a question-and-answer segment. The effectiveness was assessed by comparing participants’ pre-test and post-test scores, which measured their level of understanding. The results showed that the average post-test score increased to 95.29, compared to a pre-test average of 82.35. This demonstrates that the educational activity successfully improved participants’ knowledge about epilepsy. The counseling method proved effective in enhancing the understanding of neurology clinic visitors regarding epilepsy. To broaden the impact of this educational effort, wider dissemination of information across various hospitals is needed to raise public awareness and understanding of epilepsy.

Abstract

The development of Trigona sp. bee breeding is a strategic effort to enhance the quality and quantity of honey production in North Lombok Regency, West Nusa Tenggara. Trigona sp. honey, known for its high antioxidant, antibacterial, and nutritional content, has great potential as a regional superior product that can provide health benefits. However, the utilization of Trigona sp. bees in this area remains limited, especially regarding effective breeding techniques and optimal colony management. This community service program aims to provide training and mentoring to local beekeepers on proper and effective Trigona sp. bee breeding techniques. The results of this activity show that 100% of beekeepers participated in the socialization with high enthusiasm, leading to an increased understanding of the potential of Trigona sp. bees in a short period. Furthermore, 90% of participants successfully carried out independent breeding with an 80% success rate, and 75% of beekeepers overcame colony disease issues, contributing to a 25% increase in honey productivity. This program also increased the number of successfully bred colonies by 30%. In addition to improving technical skills, the development of Trigona sp. honey products opens up wider market opportunities and can increase the beekeepers' income. With a practical and participatory approach, this training is expected to improve community welfare and strengthen food security and regional economy in the long term, having a positive impact on the sustainability of natural resource management and the development of local products, while also creating new business opportunities.

Abstract

Micro, Small, and Medium Enterprises (MSMEs) play a strategic role in economic development. This Community Partnership Program (CPP) aims to enhance the digital marketing capacity and brand strengthening of Lezate Jamur, an MSME located in Gunungpati, Semarang, through training, mentoring, and the application of appropriate technology. The program methods include partner needs identification, instructional material design, digital marketing training (branding, product photography, copywriting, and marketplace management), packaging and label redesign, implementation of a vacuum sealer to improve product quality, as well as operational assistance and evaluation. The evaluation was conducted using achievement checklists, pre–post understanding assessments, production logs, and digital account analytics. The results indicate that the partner was able to activate and manage digital marketing channels (Instagram, TikTok, and marketplaces), develop a more consistent brand identity (logo, color scheme, and value proposition), and improve packaging from plain plastic to informative labeled packaging. The implementation of a vacuum sealer helped maintain product cleanliness and neatness, making the products more suitable for online marketing. In terms of production, daily capacity increased from approximately 5–7 kg to 10 kg per day (an increase of about 30–40%) in line with improved workflow and rising demand. Overall, this program strengthened the MSME’s readiness to adapt to online shopping patterns and expand market reach. Future efforts should include periodic monitoring of digital channel performance and structured measurement of packaging costs, shelf life, and consumer perceptions.

Abstract

Black soybeans contain bioactive compounds such as anthocyanins and isoflavones that provide health benefits, making them a potential source of functional food. However, their utilization in local communities remains limited due to the lack of product innovation and processing strategies. This condition highlights the need for community empowerment initiatives that involve PKK women’s groups to enhance creativity in local food processing. Through collaboration between students and the community, the innovation of black soybean tempeh can serve as an alternative productive activity. This program aims to strengthen the capacity of PKK women in Kemumu Village to process and market black soybean tempeh through product innovation and branding strategies. The implementation applied a participatory approach through training, demonstrations, and mentoring in production, packaging, and product promotion. Students were actively involved as facilitators to transfer knowledge and skills to the community. The program showed significant improvements in participants’ understanding and skills in producing hygienic and nutritious black soybean tempeh. Participants were also able to create more attractive product variations that could be developed as local food alternatives. Improved packaging strategies and the use of digital media as promotional tools enhanced the product’s image and market appeal. This participatory approach strengthened the entrepreneurial spirit of PKK women and encouraged household-level food diversification. Collaboration between students and the community proved effective in fostering creativity and expanding community-based marketing networks. The innovation of black soybean tempeh contributes to the empowerment of PKK women and supports food security as well as sustainable family welfare.
