Abstract

This community service aims to improve the efficiency and productivity of pepper cultivation by the Tani Sejahtera Small and Medium Enterprises (SMEs) in Balumbung Village by providing storage shelves in a greenhouse system and product packaging labels. Currently, supporting facilities such as storage shelves are still limited, where pots are arranged on the floor without any arrangement, making mobility and monitoring difficult, and increasing the risk of damage and contamination. Problems with packaging labels include limited understanding of label design, lack of knowledge regarding mandatory information, such as composition and production date. For this reason, the Bantaeng Manufacturing AK lecturer team will provide shelves made of rust-resistant metal and produce packaging labels, as well as become the basis for designing solutions or interventions, such as label design training, licensing assistance, or the provision of appropriate technology. Thus, this research is expected to contribute to improving the quality of MSME packaging. The activities carried out for five months, including needs identification, planning, procurement, installation, socialization, and monitoring and evaluation. This activity is expected to increase space efficiency and can be replicated by other farmer groups as an application of appropriate technology that supports food security. Abstract

Traditional arts are an important part of cultural heritage that needs to be preserved amid the tide of globalization. One such art form is Barongan, which developed in Karangsari Urban Village, Kendal, through the New Putro Budoyo community. However, this community faces obstacles in promotion, documentation and publication, threatening the sustainability of the art form. This community service programme was implemented using a Community Driven Development (CDD) approach that emphasises active community participation. The main activities included the creation of profile videos, social media management training, and poster design training using Canva. The results of the activities showed an increase in the community's capacity to utilise digital media, the creation of professional social media accounts, and the use of promotional products at the Karangsari Expo event. This programme not only produced tangible products but also built community independence in promoting traditional arts. Thus, CDD-based empowerment has proven effective in supporting sustainable cultural preservation while strengthening local identity in the digital era.

Abstract

SMK Negeri 6 Denpasar is a public vocational high school that still requires strengthening in school health and environmental management aspects. Initial observations and discussions with the school identified several major issues, including the suboptimal function of the School Health Unit (UKS), limited health literacy regarding rational drug use, the absence of routine health screening for teachers, and conventional organic waste management practices. This community service program aimed to improve teachers’ capacity in integrated and sustainable school health and environmental management. The implementation methods included socialization, GEMA CERMAT education, teacher health screening, composting training, and periodic monitoring and evaluation. The service team also provided supporting facilities, including basic health equipment, UKS supplies, an organic waste shredding machine, composting bags, compost microbial starter, waste bins and family medicinal plants (TOGA). The results showed that the program was implemented successfully and received positive responses from the participants. Pre-test and post-test results from 32 participants demonstrated an increase in the average score from 62 to 79 after the evaluation. Monitoring and evaluation further indicated that teachers were able to independently manage composting activities, optimize the use of UKS facilities, and improve the school environment through the development of TOGA and ornamental plant gardens. This program is expected to support the establishment of a healthy and environmentally sustainable school culture.

Abstract

Tobacco farmers in Gulang Village, Kudus Regency, face post-harvest challenges, particularly in the drying process, which is still conducted conventionally, resulting in prolonged drying time, high energy consumption, and inconsistent product quality. This community service program aimed to improve drying efficiency and tobacco quality through the implementation of a heat exchanger-based tobacco drying machine. The dryer was designed with dimensions of 1.2 m × 2.4 m × 1.2 m and equipped with 16 trays, utilizing an indirect heating system to ensure stable temperature control and prevent smoke contamination. The implementation stages included needs assessment, machine design and manufacturing, program socialization, operational and maintenance training, field implementation, and before–after performance evaluation. The results showed a reduction in drying time from 72.0 hours to 52.2 hours (27.5% efficiency improvement), energy savings from 100.0 to 75.6 kWh equivalent (24.4% reduction), and an increase in dried tobacco output from 84.6 kg to 93.6 kg per cycle (10.6% improvement). The final moisture content was more uniform at 13–14%. Statistical analysis indicated significant differences between conventional and machine-based drying methods (p < 0.05). The implementation of this appropriate technology effectively enhanced post-harvest efficiency, improved product quality, and supported the sustainability of smallholder tobacco farming in Gulang Village.

Abstract

Usaha kuliner skala kecil kerap menghadapi dua permasalahan utama, yaitu sistem pencatatan keuangan yang belum terstandarisasi dan pemanfaatan media sosial sebagai sarana promosi digital yang belum optimal. Kegiatan pengabdian kepada masyarakat ini bertujuan untuk membantu Rumah Makan Teun Uwa dalam memperbaiki sistem pencatatan keuangan berbasis spreadsheet serta meningkatkan promosi digital melalui media sosial. Kegiatan dilaksanakan di Rumah Makan Teun Uwa, Bandung, dari bulan Februari hingga Mei 2026, dengan melibatkan pemilik usaha dan kasir sebagai mitra pendampingan. Metode yang digunakan terdiri atas tiga tahapan, yaitu perencanaan melalui observasi dan wawancara, pelaksanaan pendampingan, serta pemantauan dan evaluasi. Pada aspek pencatatan keuangan, tim menyusun template rekap bulanan berformula otomatis dan memperbaiki format pencatatan harian kasir. Pemilik usaha dan kasir mampu menggunakan kedua instrumen tersebut secara mandiri. Pada aspek promosi digital, frekuensi unggahan konten meningkat dari satu hingga dua kali per bulan menjadi satu hingga dua kali per minggu. Jumlah pengikut Instagram meningkat sebesar 17,13%, pengikut TikTok meningkat sebesar 76,92%, dan rata-rata tayangan konten naik sebesar 14,34%. Pendampingan ini terbukti meningkatkan kapasitas mitra dalam pengelolaan keuangan sederhana dan pemasaran digital secara berkelanjutan.

Abstract

Lojejer Village, Wuluhan, Jember, is an area with home-based charcoal industries that operate daily. The charcoal production generates waste such as charcoal ash, which is unutilized and released into the environment. This problem presents an opportunity to increase the economic value of charcoal ash waste by processing it into eco-friendly briquettes with higher heat and economic value. Promahadesa Libera from the University of Jember has developed an Appropriate Technology (AT) briquette-pressing machine to enhance briquette production efficiency. Promahadesa Libera also conducted socialization activities through discussion sessions, machine donation, and direct mentoring for the community by forming a briquette production team in collaboration with local residents. These activities received highly enthusiastic responses from the local community and increased public understanding of AT and its potential to transform charcoal industry waste into valuable products that can support the economic development of the local community.

Abstract

Improving human resource competencies in the health and economic sectors is essential for supporting high-quality vocational education that can adapt to evolving societal and workforce demands. Teachers and students in vocational health schools are expected not only to master pharmaceutical knowledge and technical skills but also to develop practical competencies and adequate financial literacy. Preliminary discussions revealed that the partners faced challenges related to limited skills in formulating simple and applicable pharmaceutical products, as well as insufficient financial literacy, particularly in financial planning and digital investment. This community service program aimed to enhance the competencies of teachers and students of the Pharmacy Department at SMK Kesehatan PGRI Denpasar in both health and economic aspects. The program was conducted on January 23, 2026, at the Pharmacy Laboratory of SMK Kesehatan PGRI Denpasar and involved 17 participants consisting of pharmacy teachers and twelfth-grade students. The methods employed included a focus group discussion to identify the partners’ priority issues, interactive educational sessions, hands-on formulation training, and evaluation through pretest and posttest assessments. The health-related training focused on the formulation of liquid soap products, including dishwashing liquid and floor cleaner, covering raw materials, formulation procedures, hygiene principles, and product quality considerations. In the economic component, participants received training on digital investment-based financial literacy. Evaluation results demonstrated a substantial improvement in participants’ understanding, as indicated by an increase in the average score from 52.94 to 85.88. Post-program monitoring further showed that the partners had utilized the provided resources and independently replicated the liquid soap formulation process. Therefore, this community service program was effective in improving the knowledge and skills of teachers and students in simple pharmaceutical product formulation and digital investment-based financial literacy.

Abstract

The global agenda for sustainable development requires the participation of the entire community, including local communities. The low entrepreneurial capacity of the community to build productive, innovative, and sustainable businesses is one of the main challenges faced by Indonesia. Micro-entrepreneurs are still very unfamiliar with business management, product innovation, marketing, and the Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs). Additionally, there is no international collaboration in community service programs, resulting in minimal exchange of knowledge and sustainable entrepreneurship practices. Through sustainable entrepreneurship training aligned with SDG values and international collaboration with MSU Malaysia, the aim of this activity is to enhance knowledge, skills, and motivation for entrepreneurship. Problem analysis, program design and architecture, field activity implementation, and evaluation and follow-up are the four stages that form the activity method. Between December 17 and 18, 2025, 200 people from the Baduy community attended the event in Ciboleger Village, Leuwidamar District, Lebak Regency, Banten Province. The results of the activity showed a significant increase in participants' understanding of entrepreneurship, product innovation, SDG concepts, and their desire to engage in business. Compared to the previous test, the average score of the participants increased significantly. They are also more open to business ideas that align with traditional values and environmental sustainability. A participatory approach can reduce challenges such as time constraints and variations in participants' education levels. Improving the entrepreneurial skills of the community has been shown to be a positive outcome of this initiative. This can also serve as a model for sustainable cooperation to support the achievement of SDGs at the local level. Abstract

The Panggung Ceria Program: An Introduction to Simple Drama to Cultivate Character and Imagination in Early Childhood is motivated by the importance of providing creative, fun learning media that are in accordance with the developmental characteristics of early childhood. At this stage of development, children have a high curiosity and imagination, so they need stimulation through visual experiences, stories, and meaningful interactive activities. However, learning in some early childhood education institutions is still dominated by basic academic activities so that the space for developing imagination, empathy, and understanding of character values ​​is not optimal. This community service activity aims to introduce simple drama as an educational medium to foster children's imagination and strengthen character values ​​through the stories and characters presented. The implementation method is carried out through a participatory approach with the stages of needs observation, preparation of materials and drama staging, implementation of simple drama performances, and interactive activities in the form of light discussions and reflections with children. The drama presented raises the theme of honesty, courtesy, caring, and compassion with language and storylines that are easily understood by early childhood. The results of the activity show that children show high enthusiasm while watching the performance, are able to understand the moral messages conveyed, and demonstrate the development of imagination through responses, questions, and retellings that they tell after the activity. This program also provides a fun and meaningful learning experience in supporting the strengthening of early childhood character education.
