Abstract

This community service aims to empower the Jogoyasan Village Tourism Awareness Group (POKDARWIS) based on local wisdom in order to support the development of tourism areas and improve community welfare. POKDARWIS partners are faced with several main problems, namely: (1) limited knowledge and skills in processing potential local products such as cassava, sweet potatoes, potatoes, and breadfruit into value-added products; (2) weak organizational management and governance of POKDARWIS; (3) minimal use of digital technology for marketing tourism products and local processing; and (4) low partnership networks with stakeholders and local governments. To answer these problems, community service activities are carried out through several stages with an implementation schedule, namely: (1) socialization of the PKM program on August 26, 2025, (2) training on diversification of local processed products on September 3, 2025, (3) POKDARWIS organizational management training on September 19, 2025, (4) online marketing training on September 26, 2025, (5) forum group discussion (FGD) followed by the signing of a memorandum of understanding (MoU) with stakeholders and local governments on September 26, 2025, and (6) evaluation of activities on September 28, 2025. Partners play an active role in preparing implementation needs so that the program runs according to plan. The results of the activity show real achievements, namely: (1) in the production aspect, there was diversification and an increase in product quality with a 30% increase in production compared to before the activity, (2) in the management aspect, there was a change in the governance of POKDARWIS to be more professional, (3) in the marketing aspect, an online store was formed through the marketplace, and (4) in the partnership aspect, strategic collaboration was established with stakeholders and the government. The outputs of the activity were: (a) a scientific article entitled "Jogoyasan Village POKDARWIS Empowerment Model Based on Local Wisdom Supports Tourism Areas in Efforts to Improve Community Welfare", (b) news publications on the mass media I News TV, (c) audio-visual works uploaded through the FPIPSKR UPGRIS YouTube channel, (d) community service posters with the same title, and (e) an increase in the production aspect by 30%. Thus, this program provides a positive contribution in strengthening the capacity of POKDARWIS based on local wisdom and encourages an increase in the welfare of the Jogoyasan Village community

Abstract

The Education Report serves as a key indicator of the quality and performance of an educational institution. SMP Sandika, a junior high school located in Talang Kelapa, Banyuasin, is currently facing challenges in meeting the targets set by the Computer-Based National Assessment (ANBK), resulting in a predominantly low performance as indicated by the red status in the report. In response, this community service program was designed to enhance teachers' pedagogical capacity through creative teaching training, utilizing e-comics and music as instructional tools to support the strengthening of students’ literacy and numeracy skills. Based on a needs assessment conducted at the partner school, it was found that most teachers still applied conventional teaching methods and faced difficulties in developing contextual, engaging, and adaptive teaching media. The training was carried out using a participatory approach involving interactive lectures, group discussions, and hands-on practice. A total of 22 teachers from various academic backgrounds participated in the training sessions held at SMP Sandika. Evaluation results revealed a significant improvement in teachers' understanding. Prior to the training, only 53.40% of participants demonstrated comprehension of literacy concepts, and 67.04% understood numeracy. Post-training, these figures increased to 85.22% and 89.77% respectively. Open-ended responses also showed a shift in perspective regarding instructional strategies; initially, no participants mentioned e-comics or music as possible tools, but post-training, many included them as viable strategies. These findings demonstrate that the training effectively improved teacher competence, particularly in designing creative, digitally-based learning experiences. This initiative is expected to contribute significantly to the improvement of education quality, especially in enhancing SMP Sandika’s performance report and the broader educational outcomes in Banyuasin Regency.

Abstract

Limited knowledge in proper feed management can hinder the productivity of tilapia farming. Feed plays a crucial role as the main source of nutrients and energy needed to support the survival and growth of fish. One innovative approach to address this challenge is by utilizing probiotics and baker’s yeast as feed supplements. The primary challenge encountered by the partners is the low productivity of tilapia farming, which results from inefficient feed management and a lack of adequate knowledge about probiotic technology. Furthermore, this community service conducted to enhance the knowledge and skills of members of the Fish Farmers Group (Pokdakan) Rampelos in implementing probiotic-based tilapia cultivation. The methods used in this program consist of several stages: conducting surveys and interviews, preparing activities, delivering materials, carrying out practical sessions and mentoring, as well as evaluation. Previously, the partners had limited knowledge regarding the use of probiotics and baker’s yeast in tilapia farming. However, during the implementation, the members of Pokdakan Rampelos showed great enthusiasm and motivation, both in material delivery sessions and practical activities. The attendance rate during the activities averaged 90%, and members actively participated in discussions. Through mentoring and evaluation conducted by the service team, group members were able to properly implement the dosage of probiotics and baker’s yeast in feed. These results indicate that the technology introduced by the team was well-received and considered easy to apply, demonstrating its potential to improve feed efficiency and productivity in tilapia farming.

Abstract

Abstract

This Community Service Program was motivated by the science learning practices in primary and secondary schools in Sungai Kakap District, which remain largely theoretical, rote-oriented, and insufficiently connected to local cultural contexts. Science teachers have not optimally utilized digital technology as a learning resource and an assessment tool. These conditions reduce the meaningfulness of science learning for students. Therefore, training focused on developing local culture-based learning resources and assessment was considered necessary. This program aimed to enhance the competencies of primary and secondary science teachers by developing culture-based learning resources and authentic assessment methods. The program was implemented through three stages: preparation, implementation, and monitoring and evaluation, using participatory methods such as discussion, demonstration, and hands-on practice. The activity was conducted on 31 August 2025, in Sungai Kakap District and involved 20 primary and secondary science teachers. Evaluation instruments included participant activity observation sheets, product assessment rubrics, and participant response questionnaires. Success indicators encompassed active participant engagement, the development of Sungai Kakap local culture-based learning resources and assessment, and positive participant responses to the program. The results indicated an improvement in teachers’ ability to integrate local culture into science learning. Approximately 80% of participants identified relevant local cultural potential and designed context-based performance tasks, while 60% successfully developed prototype e-supplements and simple video learning storyboards. Observations showed high levels of active participation and collaboration during the training. Questionnaire results indicated that participants perceived the program as relevant and applicable. Overall, this community service program effectively strengthened teachers’ pedagogical competence and digital literacy while promoting more contextually and meaningfully grounded science learning.

Abstract

Intellectual property, particularly trademarks, is legally protected under national law. Collective trademarks serve as an important instrument for empowering Micro, Small, and Medium Enterprises (MSMEs). They offer benefits such as cost efficiency and enhanced regional reputation, making them an effective tool for local development. Rote Ndao Regency has various high-potential local products, including seaweed-based processed goods. Protecting these products through a Collective Trademark is essential to preserve their authenticity and increase their competitiveness in the market. This activity was conducted with the Seaweed Business Group “Setia Usaha” in Oelolot Village, West Rote District, Rote Ndao Regency, on 28 August 2025, with 25 participants in attendance. The program aimed to provide legal counseling on the protection and registration procedures of Collective Trademarks for the community of Rote Ndao, in order to safeguard and enhance the competitiveness of local products. The method used in this program was legal dissemination delivered through lectures and interactive discussions. This approach was chosen to ensure effective knowledge transfer and to allow participants to raise specific questions related to the potential of their local products. The activity successfully increased participants’ understanding of the urgency and benefits of Collective Trademarks, including cost efficiency and their role in preserving the identity and quality of local products. Participants also gained a clearer understanding of the requirements and procedures for registering a Collective Trademark. This improved awareness is expected to encourage MSME actors and community groups to proceed with Collective Trademark registration, thereby obtaining legal protection and strengthening the competitive value of Rote Ndao’s leading products. Overall, the legal counseling effectively enhanced the community’s understanding of Collective Trademarks, marking an important first step toward protecting and advancing their local products.

Abstract

Social media has strong potential as a means of community health education due to its rapid, easy, and interactive distribution. As the frontline provider of maternal and child health services, Posyandu (Integrated Health Posts), (Posyandu), needs to utilize digital media to improve public health literacy. However, limited skills among cadres pose a major challenge, resulting in less engaging content and inability to optimize public participation. Therefore, it is necessary to strengthen the cadres' capacity to create effective, creative content based on social media and websites. This community service activity aims to improve the skills of 10 Posyandu Cemara Jatiranggon cadres in managing digital media through training in creating engaging and relevant educational content for the surrounding community to optimally support sustainable health services. The activity methods included outreach, technical training, hands-on practice, gradual mentoring, and evaluation using pre- and post-tests with a Likert scale. The assessment instruments focused on cadres' understanding of design principles, use of the Canva application, and ability to compose health messages and materials communicatively. Based on the evaluation results, the average cadre knowledge score increased from 2.17 (less understanding category) in the pre-test to 3.93 (understanding category) in the post-test. There was an 81.11% increase in competency, with the highest increase in the ability to use the website for reporting at 137.50%. Cadres are now able to produce visual content and manage the integrated health post website independently. This indicates an increase in cadre knowledge of creative and informative content. The training enhanced cadres' understanding of the importance of educational content to attract residents to Posyandu. The content uploaded was also more varied and interactive, consistently delivered each week. In conclusion, the creative content training proved effective in increasing cadres' capacity while significantly expanding the reach of general social media-based health education.
