Abstract

The group of fish cultivators who continue to strive to develop intensive freshwater fish farming activities in the Jedong Village, Malang Regency, is the Gemari Jaya fish cultivator group. This fish farming business is relatively new, which was formed in 2019 so it requires assistance from various parties including universities. In running their business, program partners face several problems, namely the lack of proper management of fish farming so that costs and production capacity are not measurable. The purpose of this program is to improve the skills and knowledge of partners regarding the implementation of good Tilapia aquaculture management, the application of water quality management, and the application of fish health management. The method used in this activity is a method of training and mentoring related to the importance of improving good management of tilapia aquaculture, water quality management, and fish health management. The results of the activities obtained are that partners are able to apply management of Tilapia fish farming intensively guided by good fish farming practices (CBIB), Application of water quality management techniques through periodic water quality monitoring, and application of herbal plant-based fish health management at partner locations so that production capacity previously 40% increased to 60%, the target production time from the previous 6 months can be achieved within 5 months. The conclusion of this activity is that the production capacity and time of tilapia cultivation can be measured properly, so that the partner's economy increases.

Abstract

As an agricultural country, agriculture is the mainstay in realizing development through increasing production, product quality, processing activities, and marketing. The results of research in the management of Non-Timber Forest Products (NTFPs) show the low awareness and attitude of the community in processing the products they produce. Farmers still tend to sell their products in unprocessed form. The ketak plant (Lygodium circinnatum) is not utilized, and is even considered a weed. This community service activity is intended to facilitate the learning process of farmers and rural communities about opportunities to use NTFPs such as candlenut, ginger and ketak for livelihood improvement. This activity was carried out with a study-action approach and was supported by PNBP funds from the University of Mataram, and the ACIAR Project - a collaboration between LPPM Unram, ICRAF, and the Kanoppi Team. The results of the activity show that farmers and target communities have increased their knowledge, attitudes and skills in processing NTFP products, especially candlenut, ginger, and ketak. Profitable NTFPs have grown, such as processing candlenut into peeled candlenut and candlenut oil, processing ginger into instant ginger drink, and processing crab cakes into craft products with high economic value. NTFP management groups have grown, and even these groups have been able to help increase the capacity of farmers and communities in other places such as Sabedo Village – Utan District in managing NTFPs. Community empowerment efforts must be carried out together through ongoing assistance. It is hoped that there will be more activities with a review-action approach in the future.

Abstract

Desa Selong Belanak merupakan bagian dari 9 desa penyangga Sirkuit Mandalika. Kondisi desa yang diketahui sebagai desa yang sering terkena bencana banjir, tanah longsor dan gempa bumi disetiap tahunnya, maka membutuhkan adanya Program Desa Tanggap Bencana (DESTANA). Pelaksanaan program tertuju pada memiliki kemampuan mandiri untuk memiliki kemampuan untuk mengenali ancaman diwilayahnya dan mampu mengorganisasikan sumber daya masyarakatnya untuk mengurangi kerentanan sekaligus meningkatkan kapasitas demi mengurangi resiko bencana, mencengah dan mengantisipasi terjadinya bencana akibat perbuatan manusia, tanggap bencana terhadap gejala alam, beradaptasi dan menghadapi potensi bencana alam, kalau sesudah bencana agar mampu meminimalis dampak akibat bencana. Cara yang dilakukan dengan dilaksanakan kegiatan berikut : sosialisasi tentang potensi kebencanaan, kegiatan penanaman kembali pohon (reboisasi), bersih pantai dan rumah ibadah, serta pemasangan plang kebencanaan. Usaha Pengadian Kepada Masyarakat perlu adanya pelatihan yang keberlanjutan untuk meningkatkan kemampuan relawan DESTANA untuk meningkatkan skill dan kemampuan tentang DESTANA ketika dalam menghadapi bencana alam. Kesiapsiagaan dari DESTANA menyadarkan harus terus waspada terhadap bencana.

Abstract

The Covid-19 pandemic is a phenomenon that causes social disruption, especially in the scope of work, social and organization, regulation that has been imposed by government such as work from home currently become a new culture, especially in Indonesia. This has a significant impact on various stakeholders involved in education field, such as lecturer. Theory that could explain this event, namely work life balance (WLB) is a process to create and maintain a healthy and supportive work environment, which support employees to have a balance between work and personal life. The aim of this study is to explore the personal experience of Work Life Balance on women lecturers during the Covid-19. The method in this study is qualitative phenomenology, was carried out by collecting data through interview with two subjects, namely female lecturers who were married, researchers chose the subject of women lecturers because the subject had to be responsible for domestic and academic responsibilities. This study shows that each subject has similarities in interpreting the present, where they are feel grateful for the conditions that require them to work from home so that they can help children and are grateful that families want to understand and provide awareness to women that their personal and work lives can run smoothly. hand in hand, besides the importance of support for female lecturers. The conclusion of this research.

Abstract

The business continuity of MSME entrepreneurs is affected by the COVID-19 pandemic, especially those engaged in batik fashion, where fashion shows or exhibitions are cancelled. To support batik entrepreneurs, product and technology innovations that adapt to market conditions are needed. In order to increase sales of batik fashion in the pandemic era through digitalization, an appropriate marketing strategy is needed to increase technological literacy that has a positive impact on increasing market share.This community service activity aims to analyze and implement strategies to increase the market share of batik MSMEs through optimizing web-based digital marketing. This type of community service is field research with a qualitative descriptive approach. The method of data collection was carried out by survey and observation methods. The implementation of the training uses tutorial and lecture techniques. The implementation of community service is carried out in 4 stages, namely the identification of batik UMKM partner problems, formulation of partner problem solutions, providing e-commerce training in the form of e-commerce web design training and content creation, and evaluation and assistance in the form of partner understanding and satisfaction surveys. SMEs in Kampung Batik Lemahputro, Sidoarjo have implemented several forms of web-based marketing applications into their businesses, but their level of use is limited to basic marketing applications such as e-mail and static websites. However, MSMEs already have a moderate understanding of the benefits of web-based marketing and more than 50 percent of SMEs indicated that they are aware that web-based marketing can improve overall performance and profitability.

Abstract

Counseling and socialization of the use of Personal Protective Equipment (PPE) is one of the efforts to support Occupational Health and Safety. Welding workshop "Jaya Mandiri" is an activity partner that requires this. The purpose of the activity is to increase awareness and skills on the importance of using PPE when working. For this reason, making SOPs for the use of PPE is a mandatory procedure to start a job. The method used is counseling and demonstration of the use of PPE then followed by the use of PPE while working. The results of the activities were analyzed using a Likert scale. After that, the SOP and supervision methods were determined by the workshop owner in the use of PPE so that it became a habit to become a culture. The results obtained after counseling and demonstration of PPE are an increase in understanding and skills in the use of PPE from employees. From the results of the Likert scale analysis, the highest was the use of welding safety helmets after counseling 74.29% from the previous average of 31.43%. The lowest result is the use of apron (Apron) 57.14% before 22.86%. It was also found that one of the employees who had the highest understanding and skills in the use of all PPE, namely Munahar, reached 84% after counseling from only 40% previously. The skills and discipline of employees in the use of PPE still need to be improved by means of supervision by SME owners. The service implementation team together with the workshop owners and employees agreed to make an SOP in supervising the use of PPE to support K3 so that it becomes a good and entrenched habit.

Abstract

The limitations of irrigation facilities force farmers to cultivate the land in a hurry to get enough water, as a result, the soil puddling process is not perfect, the potential of the soil as a seed bank is high, resulting in weed problems that are difficult to control. Farmers plant seeds available in the market without tracing the origin of the seeds, varieties and quality of seeds. As a result, the productivity of rice farming in the target area is decreasing. The goal to be achieved is the transfer of appropriate technology so that the knowledge and skills of farmers about agribusiness and integrated pest management (IPM) in the cultivation of brown rice plants increase. The activity was carried out in Kateng Village, Kec. West Praya Kab. Central Lombok from January to July 2020. The method of activity carried out is the Participatory Action Program. The approach is bottom-up and top-down approach with an emphasis on the level of knowledge, skills and local wisdom of partner farmers (Hutwan et al., 2016). The implementation mechanism goes through several stages, namely counseling, determining target farmers as partners, mentoring and monitoring and evaluating programs. The results of the activity showed that the knowledge and skills of farmers about agribusiness and IPM in the cultivation of brown rice plants increased. This can be seen from the enthusiasm of the target farmers in participating in counseling and mentoring activities, as well as the application of appropriate technology, including soil processing, the use of superior seeds, organic fertilizers and IPM in rice cultivation. Appropriate technology introduced led to better growth and yield of brown rice, the intensity of planthopper attacks decreased, thus providing higher yields and benefits compared to manual cultivation.

Abstract

The topic of service was chosen based on the consideration that the goat population is relatively high but the goat species that is kept is a Kacangt goat with low productivity, so it needs to be crossed with a Boer goat. The purpose of the services were firstly, to explain the advantages and disadvantages of several types of goats and how to choose superior goat breeds. Secondly, to explain the advantages of Boer goats, characteristics of aestrus goats, methods of crossbreeding and how to evaluate pregnant and non-pregnant goats. The implementation method is the Innovative Approach which emphasizes the participatory approach of the training participants. The results of the evaluation found that the material presented was in accordance with the needs of the breeders at the service location, because so far most of the farmers kept Kacang goats. All the training participants considered that this training material was very useful for them so that the participants were very enthusiastic and interested in cross-breeding their goats with Boer goats. It was concluded that this training had succeeded in increasing the knowledge of farmers on how to select superior goats and how to cross Kacang goats with Boer goats. For follow-up, it is recommended that farmers could contact the inseminator at the nearest Puskeswan to get insemination services using frozen Boer goat semen.

Abstract

Timponan Waterfall Tourism in Batu Mekar Village, Lingsar, West Lombok is one of the natural resources in the form of a waterfall that has the potential to be developed as a tourist attraction. The existence of tourism objects and attractions is the most important link in a tourism activity. This service activity aims to promote tourism, especially Timponan Waterfall, which is the object of tourist attraction in Batu Mekar Village in the form of making signposts, making tourist order boards, making banners and designing promotional videos. This activity uses the Participatory Rural Appreciation (PRA) method in the field from preparation to the end of the activity and to determine priority programs, discussions are held with tourism administrators. The agreed forms of activity are the manufacture of signposts, the manufacture of tourist order boards, the manufacture of banners and the design of promotional videos. The results of this service activity are shown by a very positive response and appreciation from the partner community for participating in this activity from the beginning to the end of the event. The form of activity that has been carried out is the socialization of the importance of developing village tourism destinations, especially natural panorama-based tourism which is the mainstay of Batu Mekar Village, namely the Timponan Waterfall. The physical activities that have been completed according to the mutual agreement are the manufacture and installation of signposts to the Timponan waterfall tourist location, the manufacture and installation of travel rules and regulations, and the manufacture of banners for safe travel in the new normal era. All programs have been implemented well, but further activities are needed, namely making videos to promote tourist attractions.

Abstract

Diabetes mellitus is a degenerative disease characterized by insulin deficiency. The number of people with diabetes in Indonesia has increased and spreads throughout all Indonesia regions. Dependence on modern drugs (synthetic drugs) often causes side effects. Indonesia has various types of plants that are possible to prevent and treat diabetes mellitus. One of the plants that can reduce sugar levels while preventing and increasing body stamina is karamunting leaf (Rhodomyrtus tomentosa (Ait.) Hassk). Therefore, this community service activity aims to provide counseling about degenerative diseases, how to treat and prevent them. The activity also also provides training on how to make herbal medicine from karamunting leaves. The activity was carried out in Burai village, Tanjung Batu sub-district, Ogan Ilir district. The target audience is 36 people, some of them are diabetics. The activities support with health workers to check blood sugar levels. There are 3 types of training on making herbal medicine from karamunting leaves, namely: (i) karamunting leaf powder, (ii) karamunting leaf powder, with the addition of turmeric powder, ginger and (iii) spices consisting of karamunting leaves, ginger, turmeric, secang, lemongrass, lime leaves and rock sugar. The results of the level of preference test, the type of herbal medicine 3 were the most preferred. The evaluation results showed that as many as 83.3% of the target audience could explain the manufacture of herbal medicine from karamunting correctly, as many as 86.1% had consumed herbal medicine from karamunting leaves, and 90.3% of the audience wished to continue consuming herbal medicine from karamunting either to lower blood sugar levels or reduce blood sugar levels, for prevention and increase stamina. Making herbal medicine from karamunting increases public knowledge about diabetes mellitus, prevention efforts and increases body stamina.
