Abstract

The use of distance learning technology (e-learning) needs to be addressed so that learning objectives can be achieved effectively even though the activities are not carried out face-to-face in the classroom. One way to increase the focus and interest of students in learning activities is the use of elements in games in e-learning learning media or also known as gamification. Most of the gamification platforms are licensed or paid, so Teachers have to pay extra. The solution to this problem is to provide teachers with training and mentoring on the use of the online gamification platform where the application is free and simple to use. The purpose of this community service activity is to introduce and improve the digital competence of teachers and educators in using online gamification platforms (on the network) as a learning medium. The method used in service activities is the method of training and mentoring. The results of this community service activity are in the form of stages of making learning media using the wordwall.net gamification platform, namely opening the wordwall.net page, selecting Sign Up, setting up myActivities display, making Maze Chase, and evaluating/viewing student work. The conclusion of this activity is the increase in the digital skills of the activity participants, game and quiz-based learning media products, as well as practical guidebooks for using the gamification platform. The material presented is useful for teachers and educators in preparing digital teaching materials based on games and quizzes.

Abstract

Although the government has accommodated English to be included in the realm of local content, a number of obstacles including the limited number of teachers and funds have resulted in the implementation of the introduction of English being not optimal. Similar problems occur in the Kambera language which has not yet become a part of education in East Sumba, especially in urban areas. Seeing the importance of using English and local languages ​​in schools both as the language of instruction and as part of subjects, the solution that must be taken is to include elements of regional languages ​​in learning in elementary schools. This Community Service activity aims to introduce English and Kambera, as the local languages ​​of East Sumba, to elementary school students in Waingapu through the names of vegetables presented through posters. The method of implementing this activity begins with qualitative data collection and analysis. There are 50 kinds of vegetables which are divided into 3 major groups of vegetables, namely root and tuber vegetables, seed and fruit vegetables, and leaf and stem vegetables, which are then presented in 5 posters. The results of this activity indicate that not all students in every school have good English skills because it has not been implemented in the curriculum, then students do not have knowledge of the Kambera language which is a local language in East Sumba due to lack of early introduction. The conclusion that can be drawn is that the introduction and improvement of English and Kambera language skills in the community needs to be carried out on an ongoing basis. The poster media used in this activity can also support the sustainability of this activity because it can still be used as a learning medium in other schools.

Abstract

Distance Learning (PJJ) which was carried out during the COVID pandemic was one of the factors causing academic decline (learning loss). To overcome the problem of academic decline, teachers need to optimize learning through the application of enjoyful learning. Joyful learning is a learning strategy that seeks to generate interest, full involvement, and the creation of meaning, understanding of values that make students happy. This activity aims to: (1) carry out workshops for teachers to prepare a Learning Planning Plan (RPP) for enjoyful learning, and (2) produce learning tools in the form of lesson plans that apply the joyful learning model. Service activities are carried out in three stages of activity, namely preparation, implementation, and evaluation. Preparation is carried out by conducting a preliminary survey to see conditions in the field regarding the development of the teaching profession. The implementation is carried out by training (workshops), using the lecture method, namely presentation techniques, followed by question-answer discussions and exercises as a form of workshop activities for the preparation of learning tools. Evaluation of activities is carried out for each stage by collecting and concluding data from each stage of activity. The service activities carried out were in the form of assistance in the preparation of RPP joyful learning by 25 teachers of ITMA (Islam Terpadu Misykat Al-Anwar) SMA and one principal on November 23, 2021. Thus, the result of this activity is the RPP's enjoyful learning that has been prepared by the teachers as an outcome of the service activities that have been carried out. This service activity is carried out in several stages to obtain maximum results in the preparation of RPP enjoyful learning. RPP enjoyful learning that has been prepared, then actualized in learning activities at SMA ITMA. The actualization activity aims to determine the effectiveness of the workshops that have been carried out and to maximize the results of developing lesson plans that have been prepared by the teachers

Abstract

Penduduk Desa Dakung Kecamatan Praya Tengah Kabupaten Lombok Tengah, sebagian besar adalah bertani. Potensi sumber daya alam yang ada di desa Dakung ini cukup beragam, salah satunya adalahbuah pepaya. Ketersediaan pepaya di desa Dakung ini cukup melimpah, akan tetapi sedikit dimanfaatkan oleh masyarakat. Maka perlu dilakukannya inovasi terkait pemanfaatan pepaya, yaitu mengolah pepaya menjadi makanan yang lebih tahan lama, penampilan menarik, aroma dan rasa lebih enak, pemasaran yang lebih luas, yaitu dengan mengolah pepaya menjadi abon. Tujuan dari pengolahan pepaya menjadi abon yaitu untuk mengoptimalkan pemanfaatan potensi desa khususnya pepaya, dan untuk memberdayakan perekonomian masyarakat di desa Dakung. Melalui sosialisasi dan pelatihan pembuatan abon papaya dengan rasa original dan rasa pedas di kantor kepala desa, dan di tempat serta waktu yang berbeda pada masing-masing dusun. Sosialisasi melibatkan ibu-ibu PKK, ibu-ibu rumah tangga, dan pemuda-pemudi desa Dakung. Hasil dari kegiatan ini, pemuda-pemudi dan ibu-ibu desa Dakung dapat memanfaatkan potensi desa, dapat membuat olahan papaya dengan lebih inovatif, tahan lama dan lebih menarik. Kegiatan sosialisasi dan pelatihan pembuatan abon pepaya dapat meningkatkan keterampilan masyarakat desa Dakung. Kesimpulannya adalah : masyarakat desa Dakung mulai belajar memanfaatkan potensi desa dengan lebih inovatif, yang berpeluang membuka lapangan kerja baru, dengan pembinaan dan dukungan lebih lanjut dari pihak aparat desa.

Abstract

Indonesia has many varieties of plants that are blessed as medicine. Availability of these medicinal plants is utilized by the people for traditional medicine to meet their treatment. Family Medicinal Plant (TOGA) is a medicinal plant grown in the yard of a family-run house as an independent effort in medicine. Lajut Village in utilizing TOGA as medicine is still lacking, so it is important to socialize about TOGA. Socialization will improve people's ability to manage TOGA into products that are ready for consumption. The method used is by talking about the types of TOGA and their benefits, how to harvest TOGA, post-harvest treatment of TOGA, procedures for making TOGA symplisia, and discussions on how to process TOGA that is ready for consumption. The results of observations made with the head of Kandong and Tempas hamlet obtained as many as 24 types of TOGA, 8 types of which were presented in counseling in the hall of the Lajut village office. The evaluation of the socialization of people in Lajut village shows an increase in public knowledge about how to use TOGA for family medicine alternatives. Knowledge of participants increased from 54.8% to 72% obtained from the results of pre-test and post-test scores. The education level of the participants was dominated by high school (48%), bachelor (36%), junior high school (8%), and elementary school (8%). The implementation of this socialization can increase the knowledge of the people of Lajut village regarding the use of TOGA for preventive efforts, promotive efforts, and curative efforts.

Abstract

Raudathul Husna Islamic Vocational School located in Mertak Tombok village, Praya, Central Lombok was established in 2020, with a total of 57 students. Has one major, namely Visual Communication Design (DKV). Core subjects according to the curriculum include Creative Products and Entrepreneurship (PKWU), publication design and computer graphics. For this reason, students need to be given additional knowledge, namely the introduction of AutoCAD software which is not included in the curriculum. The aim is to support and complete students' knowledge and skills in a broader and more general design. Students are expected to be able to make a site plan for a yard and design a simple house plan. The method used is to give an introduction to the basics of Autocad software from module one to module 4. Each module discusses skills in operating and applying in the form of a design step by step. Simultaneously given lectures, students practice in groups from each stage of the module. Of the thirty-five students who were divided into 7 groups, four groups were able to practice up to module 3. Three groups were only able to practice up to module 2. None of the students had been able to practice up to module 4 proficiently. However, with intensive assistance from the PKM team, 2 groups can make site plans and simple house plans. The introduction of AutoCad software at SMKi was welcomed by the school. Students feel great benefits from the implementation of this activity, it is useful to open insight, experience and increase student skills by 80.28%

Abstract

Iloponu Village has the potential for agrobiopharmaceutical development, but has not been developed optimally. The development of agrobiopharmaceuticals is not only beneficial for health but has economic value that can increase people's income. Biopharmaceutical plants such as eucalyptus have the potential to become land conservation plants. This service activity aims to conduct field observations of problems and alternative solutions by implementing participatory technology development and community development, as well as making persuasive and educational efforts to the community in the development of agrobiopharmaceuticals based on land conservation in Iloponu Village. This community service activity uses the following methods: (1) field observation, (2) participatory technology development, (3) community development through training and mentoring, (4) persuasively by jointly building bioprime holes, and (5) educative through the planting of eucalyptus plants together. The development of agrobiopharmaceuticals in the form of making local community medicinal gardens is carried out in locations with priorities for Dusun II, III and IV (priority 1) and Hamlet I (priority 2). Community knowledge and skills increased by more than 80%. Efforts to conserve land based on agrobiopharmaceuticals are carried out together with the community by making biopore holes and planting eucalyptus plants. Field observations help identify problems and set priorities for land conservation-based agrobiopharmaceutical development activities, while participatory technology development has resulted in local community medicine gardens and community development has increased the knowledge and skills of residents in agrobiopharmaceutical development. Persuasive efforts have been carried out by making biopore holes in the yard and agricultural land, while public education has been carried out by planting eucalyptus plants in Iloponu Village.

Abstract

The ability to communicate in English is very important in today's era. For this reason, abilities in this matter need to be honed from an early age, both from the kindergarten (TK) and elementary school (SD) levels. The Islamic Elementary School (SDI) Nurul Huda, East Jakarta, is one of the schools that is aware of this. In this case, SDI Nurul Huda is a partner who collaborates with the community service activity implementation team (PKM) to carry out an English language extracurricular activity for students. This community service activity aims to overcome the limitations of students in understanding the pronunciation or pronunciation of English vocabulary in speaking. The method of this PKM activity is in the form of English pronunciation training in the form of lectures, direct conversation practices, questions and answers, and discussions. After the PkM implementation was completed, the authors assessed two main things, namely the accuracy of the material for the participants and the success of the training implementation. From the survey results, it can be concluded that the training materials on English pronunciation and vocabulary can improve their ability to communicate in English. In terms of mastery and attitude of the trainer, the PkM participants gave a positive response stating that the trainer's attitude was friendly and polite during the training. The trainers are also very well versed in the material when providing training to the students. The author hopes that PkM training with materials like this can continue to be given to elementary school students in the future.

Abstract

Online learning is widely applied in schools in Indonesia during the Covid-19 pandemic. Teachers and students are expected to adapt to the use of technology in learning. However, there are many obstacles in the implementation of online learning. Obstacles that often occur during the online learning process are the lack of digital literacy, unstable internet connections, availability of devices, and limited quotas. It has caused a negative impact on students’ motivation and understanding, especially at the elementary level. The Teaching Campus program aims to assist the learning process in schools affected by Covid-19, especially in literacy and numeracy. In addition, this program is expected to foster university student leadership. The Campus Teaching Batch 2 Program was carried out by five university students under the supervision of a lecturer. This program has been conducted for twenty weeks at SD Dynata Denpasar. School observation was carried out at the beginning of the program as a reference in preparing work programs. The university students collaborated with the teachers in literacy and numeracy learning during the program, both online and offline. In August and September 2021, all learning activities at SD Dynata Denpasar were conducted online through Google Meet. Literacy and numeracy activities were adjusted to the sub-themes in the thematic books. In addition to teaching assistance, the university students also helped the teachers in technology adaptation and administration. The university students also helped the school in limited face-to-face learning, which was held in October 2021. The university students assisted the teachers and ensured the implementation of health protocols in the school. Through this program, the school was assisted in the implementation of online and offline learning. The ability of the university students to communicate and collaborate has also increased.

Abstract

Teori hemat energi sudah menjadi kurikulum di sekolah dasar, namun praktik dan pengetahuan perangkat kerasnya masih sangat jarang. Mereka hanya diberikan penjelasan mengenai energi alternatif terbarukan tanpa praktek atau bahkan mengetahui perangkat kerasnya secara langsung. Dengan demikian, siswa sekolah dasar harus dikenalkan dengan perangkat keras yang dapat digunakan untuk menghemat energi atau energi alternatif yang dapat diubah menjadi listrik. Kegiatan pengabdian masyarakat ini bertujuan untuk memberikan wawasan para guru untuk dapat disampaikan kepada siswa tentang pentingnya hemat energi di era sekarang ini dan sebagai media pengenalan perangkat keras dasar energi terbarukan. Dengan pengenalan ini, diharapkan siswa sekolah dasar lebih kreatif dan inovatif dalam pengembangan dan penerapan energi terbarukan. Metode pelaksanaan kegiatan ini adalah pelatihan. Pelatihan dilakukan dengan memberikan penjelasan tentang cara kerja dan penggunaan renewable energy tools serta praktik langsung. salah satu dosen akan mempresentasikan dan mendemonstrasikan alat, sedangkan dosen yang lain akan mendampingi guru jika ada pertanyaan. Peserta pengabdian masyarakat merasa terbantu dengan kegiatan ini. Peserta pengabdian mengetahui hal baru terkait modul pembelajaran berupa alat untuk praktikum energi terbatukan yang akan disampaiakan kepada siswa/siswi MI Roudlotul Ulum Jabalsari Kabupaten Tulungagung.
