Abstract

In this COVID-19 pandemic season, there are still many people who tend to lack awareness in complying with health protocols, especially in terms of crowding and maintaining hand hygiene. Many innovations for hand washing facilities have been made in tourist places, restaurant toilets, malls, and even places of worship. However, during the current Covid-19 pandemic season, have these placements and tools been able to break the ropes of spreading the virus? The answer is that it is still not enough, because the hand washing place is still touched by many hands. Even though some have used automatic or touchless hand washing stations, the purchase of these tools is quite expensive among the surrounding community. Therefore, in this project we intend to break the rope of the spread of the coronavirus, by designing an economical touchless hand washing sink. Then, after the tool was completed, the grant process to the party in need, namely SMK Global Prima in Tambun Utara, Bekasi Regency, was carried out. Although on a small scale, we hope that this effort can be useful for the students involved, the partners of SMK Global Prima, and the community in general.

Abstract

Jelantik Village has several community groups of tofu tempe producers, with each group's production capacity reaches 650 kg/day. As small-medium scale enterprises, the tofu tempe industry can employ the community, but the waste causes environmental problems. On the other hand, there are still many residents around the industry who are classified as economically weak. Along with the development of science and technology, pulp, a by-product of tofu and tempeh factories, has been extensively researched and modified for various nutritious processed foods. The training activity aims to empower the community around the factory, especially mothers, to use tofu waste in processed foods of high value, such as crackers, nuggets and sticks. Besides being abundantly available and cheap, tofu dregs still have good nutritional content. The training was carried out by transferring technical information on the manufacture of products to mothers in the environment around the tofu and tempeh factories. In addition to the manufacturing engineering process, the training also provides knowledge about packaging and marketing. The results obtained from this activity are that the community can use tofu dregs in crackers, nuggets and sticks. The community was enthusiastic about welcoming the team and eager to participate in the training process. The training can also answer some technical problems community in producing similar products. Currently, the assisted community groups have been able to produce crackers, nuggets and sticks made from tofu dregs and are preparing to form an entrepreneurial group together.

Abstract

The rise of growing plants by the hydroponic method is currently popular because it does not require large areas of land and land. Hydroponic planting using the NFT (Nutrient Film Technique) method requires airflow to be maintained; its function is to distribute nutrient water to plant roots. In practice, PLN is used to turn on the water pump, but if the energy supply from PLN dies due to interference or negligence, the supply of plant nutrients will also stop, so a solution is needed. The purpose of community service activities (PKM) aims to increase knowledge and skills in applying a solar power generation system for hydroponic plants, especially for activity partners, namely the Nuri Holti Hidro Business. The activity was held on 29 - 30 June 2022 and attended by 20 participants. PKM stages: (1) the preparation stage - team meeting, coordination with partners, and preparation of facilities and equipment; and (2) the implementation stage of training and technical guidance. The training was carried out using the demonstration method. The pre-test evaluation results revealed that the training participants' knowledge and skills regarding applying solar power generation systems for hydroponic plants was only 40 per cent. Meanwhile, the results of the post-test evaluation after the training activities for implementing solar power generation systems for hydroponic plants. There was an increase of 85 per cent in the training participants. Applying a solar power generation system for hydroponic plants is more flexible for hydroponic plant locations that are open / in the sun.

Abstract

The abundance of trash fish in certain seasons and palm kernel cake is a wealth in Bangka Island which can be used by Pokdakan to manufacture fish feed. Technical skills are needed by Pokdakan so the transfer of knowledge from fisheries experts at the University of Bangka Belitung is important. The aim of this activity is to disseminate the manufacture of probiotic fish pellets with Probio_FmUBB, transfer knowledge of making fish pellets, and find out the proximate content. The activity was carried out in Pagarawan Village, Merawang District, Bangka Regency, as well as the pellet proximate test at the UPTD LPPMHP Bangka Belitung. The activity method is by giving lectures to convey theory to discussions and playing YouTube videos for the practice of making pellets. In preparing artificial feed, it is necessary to consider, among other things, knowing the size and type of cultivated fish, production targets of artificial feed, inventorying the availability of raw materials, preparing feed formulations and calculating them, printing feed, as well as packaging and storage. Artificial feed that has good quality must comply with the requirements needed. The nutritional composition of fish pellets must contain balanced elements of protein, carbohydrates, fats, vitamins and minerals. The procedure for making artificial fish pellets was understandable to the participants and could be practiced in their respective Pokdakan. The types and formulas of ingredients for the manufacture of fish pellets are 0.5 kg of fish meal, 0.2 kg of shrimp meal, 0.25 kg of palm kernel cake, 0.12 kg of bran, 10 bottle caps of probiotics. The proximate content is known by the value of Moisture Content 20.79%, Ash Content 20.63%, Protein 31.36%, and Total Fat 4.33%. The pellets made by Pokdakan are suitable for use as feed for cultivated fish biota, especially for tilapia and catfish.

Abstract

The decline in COVID-19 cases in Indonesia indicates that the pandemic status is starting to transition towards endemic. Endemic to COVID-19 does not mean that the COVID-19 virus has completely disappeared, so people still need to maintain a healthy lifestyle, one of which is maintaining sanitation. The use of soap is considered impractical so it is necessary to innovate sanitary products in the form of traveling paper soap in the form of paper soap which is easy to carry anywhere. The purpose of this service is to provide assistance in making mobile paper soap to improve sanitation endemic to COVID-19 and to help improve the skills and economy of the community in Tanjung Pering Village, South Sumatra. The community service method used in this activity is in the form of practice, counseling, technical guidance and assistance. The service was carried out in approximately 2 months for PKK mothers in Tanjung Pering Village, South Sumatra. Prior to the assistance, an introduction was given regarding the importance of washing hands with soap during this endemic period of COVID-19. Many PKK mothers do not understand the importance of using soap and prefer to use hand sanitizers which they feel are practical to carry anywhere. The manufacturing process is simple so that in the future PKK mothers can apply it themselves at home and it can become a platform for new businesses to develop. In addition, the traveling paper soap product that has been made can be used to tackle the problem of COVID-19 transmission during this endemic period. PKK mothers' understanding of the importance of using soap has increased after this service and PKK mothers have gained skills in making Traveling Paper Soap products.
