Abstract

This study aims to identify economic potential in a particular region by determining the leading sectors and commodities that have high competitiveness. The analysis was conducted using quantitative methods through the Location Quotient (LQ) and Revealed Comparative Advantage (RCA) approaches that focus on measuring the relative advantages of economic sectors. Based on the results of the LQ analysis, the leading sector identified is the tobacco processing industry with an LQ value of 7.52, indicating a high concentration of activity compared to other regions. The next sector is the gas procurement and ice industry with an LQ value of 6.30, and the food crop subsector in the agricultural sector with an LQ value of 3.76. The RCA analysis revealed that rice is a leading commodity with the highest RCA value, namely 1.64, followed by sweet potatoes with an RCA value of 1.18. Furthermore, the RCACost analysis that takes into account the cost factor of economic activities strengthens the position of rice as a leading and sustainable commodity, with an RCACost value of 1.51.

Abstract

This study aims to analyze in depth the influence of entrepreneurial orientation, consisting of dimensions of innovation, risk taking, and proactive attitude, on decision making in financial management and its impact on financial performance in women-owned MSMEs from three ethnic groups, namely Javanese, Madurese, and Osing, spread across East Java. This study also aims to compare the differences in influence between the three ethnic groups. The research method used is a quantitative approach with the Structural Equation Modeling (SEM) analysis tool processed using AMOS software, on a sample of between 100 and 200 female MSME actors selected purposively, with a minimum provision of 30 respondents from each ethnic group. In this study, entrepreneurial orientation is set as the independent variable, financial management decision making as the mediator variable, and financial performance as the dependent variable. The results of the study indicate that innovation and risk taking have a significant positive effect on financial decisions, but have a negative impact on financial performance, while proactiveness is not significant. Financial management decisions are proven to significantly improve the financial performance of MSMEs.

Abstract

Negative workplace gossip drains employees’ resources, diverts energy from the task, and induces emotional exhaustion, which impairs performance. This study investigated the impact of negative workplace gossip on task performance and emotional exhaustion among employees at Soto Bang Amat, a traditional restaurant in Banjarmasin, Indonesia. The study also examined emotional exhaustion as a mediator and perceived organizational support (POS) as a moderator in this relationship. Data were collected from 50 employees using a 5-point Likert scale questionnaire, analyzed through Smart PLS 3.0. The study findings revealed that negative workplace gossip significantly reduced task performance and increased emotional exhaustion. Emotional exhaustion partially mediated the gossip-performance relationship, while POS attenuated the negative impact of gossip on performance. These results are in line with the Conservation of Resources theory, which highlights gossip as a stressor in the workplace. Practically, managers should foster a supportive environment through open communication and recognition programs to mitigate the impact of gossip. The small sample size and focus on a single site limit generalizability, thus future research with larger samples and multiple sites is recommended.

Abstract

This study aims to examine the impact of Supportive Leadership and Self-Awareness on Teacher Performance, with Organizational Citizenship Behavior (OCB) as a mediating factor. The main focus is to understand the contribution of leadership and self-awareness in improving teacher performance, as well as explore the role of Cultural Quotient as a moderation of supportive leadership towards organizational citizenship behavior and self-awareness of organizational citizenship behavior. This study uses the Partial Least Squares (PLS) method to analyze the relationship between Supportive Leadership, Self-Awareness, OCB, and Teacher Performance. Data was collected from 211 teachers through a structured questionnaire. PLS was selected to analyze complex relationships and assess the direct and indirect effects of these variables.  The results showed that Supportive Leadership and Self-Awareness had a positive influence on OCB, which in turn improved Teacher Performance. Although Supportive Leadership does not have a direct impact on Teacher Performance, its influence is seen through the increase in OCB. Self-awareness has a direct and indirect positive effect on teacher performance. Cultural Quotient strengthens the influence of Supportive Leadership on OCB. This study concludes that supportive leadership and increased self-awareness are important strategies to improve teacher performance.

Abstract

This study aims to explore the influence of organizational culture, work environment, and social support on employee loyalty, with employee engagement as a mediating variable. This study uses a quantitative approach with a causal design. Data were collected from 50 employees of PT. XYZ Kerinci through a structured questionnaire, carefully designed to measure employee perceptions of the work environment, organizational socio-cultural support, and engagement. The analysis used Structural Equation Modeling (SEM) based on Partial Least Squares (SmartPLS). The results of the study found that organizational culture and work environment significantly affect employee loyalty through employee engagement, while social support does not show a direct, weak and insignificant effect. Organizational culture with the highest significant value emphasizes the importance of a supportive and value-oriented culture in increasing loyalty, so that good organizational culture and work environment play an important role in increasing employee loyalty through employee engagement. This study provides recommendations for management in designing human resource management strategies that focus on increasing engagement as the key to employee loyalty.

Abstract

The rapid development of e-commerce in Indonesia requires an in-depth understanding of the factors that influence consumer purchasing interest in online shopping. This study aims to examine the effect of live streaming, digital advertising, and affiliate marketing on consumer purchasing interest on online store platforms. Using a quantitative method with a survey approach, this study involved 657 respondents who were selected purposively because they had experience shopping online and were exposed to digital marketing strategies. Primary data were obtained through a Google Forms-based questionnaire with a 5-point Likert scale, which had been tested for validity and reliability. Data analysis was carried out using Structural Equation Modeling Partial Least Squares (SEM-PLS) using SmartPLS 3 software. The results showed that live streaming, digital advertising, and affiliate marketing had a positive and significant effect on purchasing interest. Interactive live streaming increases consumer trust and purchase intention. Creative and relevant digital advertising attracts attention and builds emotional connections with consumers. Affiliate marketing by credible third parties supports purchasing decisions through honest and informative reviews. This study provides valuable insights for academics and digital marketing practitioners, emphasizing the important role of technology-based promotional strategies and social engagement in driving purchasing interest in the digital era.

Abstract

Local revenue is a primary source of funding for development at the local level, one of which is through the collection of Non-Metallic Mineral and Rock (Mineral Bukan Logam dan Batuan/MBLB) taxes. This study aims to analyze the effectiveness of the collection of Group C MBLB taxes in Palu City and to identify the supporting and inhibiting factors in the tax collection process. The research method used is a quantitative study with a descriptive-analytic approach, utilizing secondary data from the Regional Revenue Agency of Palu City and limited interviews with relevant staff. Data analysis focuses on calculating the effectiveness level of tax collection and evaluating the factors that influence target achievement. The results show that the effectiveness of Group C MBLB tax collection in Palu City during the period 2019 to 2022 was categorized as highly effective, but it declined to a less effective category in 2023. Key supporting factors include a strong legal basis, investment growth, adequate supporting facilities, and an integrated online payment system. On the other hand, limitations in human resources, lack of taxpayer understanding of online payment procedures, inaccurate taxpayer data, and complex bureaucracy are significant obstacles.
