Abstract

This study aims to analyze the competitiveness of the Islamic Financial Management Study Program of IAIN Parepare using an in-depth SWOT (Strengths, Weaknesses, Opportunities, Threats) analysis. The main focus of the study is to identify internal and external factors that influence the competitiveness of the Study Program in the ever-growing Islamic financial education industry. This study uses the EFAS (External Factory Analysis Summary) and IFAS (Internal Factor Analysis Summary) methods to assess the strengths, weaknesses, opportunities, and threats faced by the study program in order to improve its competitiveness at the national and international levels. The results of the study show that the quality of teaching staff and the relevance of the curriculum are the main strengths of the study program, while limited resources are a significant challenge. The study program also has the opportunity to strengthen cooperation with the Islamic financial industry and local government, although there is a threat from competition with similar, more established study programs. This study concludes that strengthening cooperation with industrial institutions, verifying funding sources, and increasing operational efficiency through digital technology are key strategies that need to be implemented. The implications of this study provide guidance for study program managers in determining strategic policies to maintain the sustainability and relevance of study programs in the future.

Abstract

This study examines the multifaceted relationship between import tariffs, trade dynamics, and exchange rates and their collective impact on economic growth in Indonesia. As a developing country integrated into the global economy, Indonesia's growth is heavily influenced by international trade policies and macroeconomic factors. This study investigates how various import tariffs change trade dynamics, which in turn affect Indonesia's economic growth. At the same time, the exchange rate is analyzed as an important mediator that shapes the trade balance and examines the effect of changes in import tariffs on economic growth. The estimation method used is path analysis, using 9 years of historical quantitative data (2016-2024). Econometric modeling and statistical analysis are used to capture the direct and indirect relationships among the variables of interest. This study finds that import tariffs negatively impact Indonesia’s economic growth through various mediating variables, including the trade balance, exchange rate, and US imports and exports. Empirical analysis using Path Analysis reveals that higher tariffs reduce Indonesia’s export volume, restrict foreign market access, and distort exchange rate stability, leading to trade imbalances and depressing GDP growth. In addition, reduced US imports from Indonesia weaken Indonesia’s trade revenues, which affect investment and consumption capacity. The broader economic consequences highlight the need for a strategic trade policy that balances national interests with global competitiveness. These findings provide policymakers with a framework to optimize Indonesia's trade and monetary strategies to ensure sustainable long-term economic growth. Keywords: Import Tariffs, Exchange Rates, Trade Balance, Economic Growth.

Abstract

This study aims to analyze the influence of product quality, social media creative content, and consumer testimonials on the purchase decision. Consumers of the Pilotter brand identified as popular in the study include those who use social media and have previously purchased products, as well as those between the ages of 12 and 40 who frequently visit Sidoarjo and make purchases from P's online and offline stores. This study uses a quantitative approach with the Partial Least Square (PLS) method and involves 100 respondents who are Pilotter consumers. Evaluation of the Inner Model (structural model) is carried out by calculating the values of R-Square, Q-Square, and F-Square. R-Square measures how much the variation of the change of independent variables affects the dependent variable, while Q-Square is used to determine the predictive relevance of the research through the blindfolding procedure. The results of the analysis showed that product quality did not have a significant effect on purchasing decisions, while social media creative content and consumer testimonials had a positive and significant influence. This shows that digital marketing strategies through social media and customer reviews play a greater role in attracting consumer interest than the quality factor of the product itself. Therefore, companies are advised to strengthen their digital marketing strategies and manage customer testimonials optimally to increase competitiveness and sales.

Abstract

The service industry heavily relies on the quality of service provided by employees, with Emotional Quotient (EQ) playing a crucial role in enhancing individual performance and organizational effectiveness. While EI is widely recognized as a key factor in improving workplace interactions and customer satisfaction, many organizations still prioritize technical skills over emotional and interpersonal development. This study examines the role of EQ in the service industry, focusing on its impact on both individual and organizational performance. It explores EQ dimensions, challenges in its development, and strategies for enhancing human resource quality to foster a harmonious and productive work environment. A qualitative descriptive approach is employed, utilizing in-depth interviews with human resource managers, supervisors, customer service employees, academics, and industrial psychologists to analyze the relationship between EQ and employee performance. The findings reveal that EQ not only enhances employees' ability to manage stress and build interpersonal relationships but also plays a strategic role in improving leadership effectiveness and customer service quality. This study underscores the importance of integrating EQ into human resource management policies to cultivate a more adaptive, productive, and sustainable work environment in the service industry.

Abstract

The COVID-19 pandemic has fundamentally changed workplace dynamics, placing employee mental health and well-being at the forefront of Human Resource Management (HRM) priorities. As organizations navigate the post-pandemic era, ensuring continued employee performance requires a strategic emphasis on psychological resilience, work-life balance, and organizational support systems. This study uses a Systematic Literature Review (SLR) approach following the PRISMA framework to identify effective HRM strategies that promote workplace mental health and well-being. The study’s findings highlight key strategies, including flexible work arrangements, Employee Assistance Programs (EAPs), leadership-driven well-being initiatives, and the promotion of a supportive organizational culture. These strategies not only reduce mental health risks but also improve employee engagement, productivity, and retention. This study presents a comprehensive framework for HR practitioners to integrate well-being into organizational policies, ensuring long-term resilience and competitiveness in an increasingly volatile work environment.

Abstract

Solok Regency is the largest potato-producing area in West Sumatra. However, from 2015 until 2020, potato production in Solok Regency has experienced a decline. The decline in potato production in Solok Regency indicates production risks in potato farming. The decrease in potato production could be caused by several factors related to potato farming, such as rainfall, pests, diseases, and others. This study aims to identify and assess the sources of production risks in potato farming and analyze risk management in managing production risks in potato farming in Nagari Alahan Panjang, Solok Regency. Data were collected from 31 potato farmers in Nagari Alahan Panjang, the village with the highest potato production in Solok Regency. This study used a risk mapping matrix to analyze the data. The results of the study found nine sources of production risk in potato farming, namely: poor seeds, high rainfall, expensive fertilizers, unproperly weeding, caterpillar pests, thrips pests, pig pests, fusarium wilt disease, and phytophthora disease. This study formulates two types of risk management: preventive and mitigation strategies. A preventive approach is to prevent or reduce the frequency of risk by rotating crops properly and using organic fertilizers. A mitigation strategy is to minimize the impact of production risks by diversifying crops, utilizing biological agents of Trichoderma sp, applying proper Weeding, and partnering with certified potato seed breeders to get good quality seed.
