Abstract

The tea plantation industry in Indonesia faces ongoing challenges in sustaining employee productivity due to cost pressures, competitive demands, and difficulties in implementing effective human resource management practices, where the combined effects of compensation and work discipline, particularly mediated by job satisfaction, remain underexplored. This study aims to examine the direct and indirect influences of compensation and work discipline on work productivity, with job satisfaction serving as an intervening variable, among employees. The research adopted a quantitative approach using path analysis. Data were collected from 100 purposively selected employees through questionnaires measured on a five-point Likert scale. Analysis was conducted with statistical software to test direct effects, indirect effects via the Sobel test, and total effects. The results indicate that compensation and work discipline significantly and positively affect job satisfaction, with compensation showing a stronger influence. Both variables also directly enhance work productivity, again with compensation exerting a greater impact. Job satisfaction partially mediates these relationships, contributing meaningful indirect effects. Compensation demonstrates a substantially larger total effect on work productivity compared to work discipline, highlighting the need for management to prioritize competitive compensation and disciplined work practices to boost employee productivity.

Abstract

Increasingly complex environmental challenges require leadership approaches that integrate ethical, cultural, and community-based mechanisms. This study examines how traditional leadership among the Baduy community reflects environmental concern and the lessons it offers for contemporary sustainability governance. Using a qualitative systematic literature review and thematic analysis of over fifty indexed sources, the study explores customary norms, leadership roles (Puun and Jaro), ritual practices and community resource management to identify how local wisdom shapes ecological behavior. Findings show that Baduy leadership instills environmental care through everyday norms emphasizing simplicity, harmony, and moral responsibility, fostering social-ecological resilience and strong pro-environmental practices. These findings are situated within broader debates on environmental leadership, highlighting culturally rooted mechanisms rituals, social sanctions, and leader exemplary as informal governance tools that complement formal regulations, enhance legitimacy, compliance, and low-cost conservation. The study’s main contribution is empirical and conceptual evidence that customary leadership can catalyze sustainable behavior and strengthen policy effectiveness by integrating ethical management, intergenerational responsibility, and community-based enforcement into modern environmental leadership frameworks.

Abstract

Growing environmental degradation and sustainability challenges have increased the importance of promoting environmentally responsible entrepreneurship. This study examines and explains the influence of institutional intervention in the distribution of green entrepreneurial behavior by using the integration of social marketing and the theory of planned behavior. The novelty of this study is to use institutional intervention as a moderating variable on the relationship between green entrepreneurial intention and green entrepreneurial behavior. The study used quantitative methods. The population of this study is entrepreneurs. The size of the sample used was 120 people with a purposive sampling method. The analytical technique used is structural equation modelling using SEM-PLS. The test results showed that environmental value significantly moderated the influence of attitude toward behavior, subjective norm, and perceived behavioral control toward green entrepreneurial intention. Institutional intervention significantly moderates the influence of green entrepreneurial intention on green entrepreneurial behavior. Green entrepreneurial intention significantly mediates the effect of attitude, subjective norm, and perceived behavioral control on green entrepreneurial behavior among entrepreneurs. In order to increase the number of green entrepreneurships, it is necessary to pay attention to social marketing intervention factors and environmental values to form green entrepreneurial behavior.

Abstract

Traditional approaches to emergency department readiness in hospitals generally focus on technical factors and rapid response systems. However, non-technical factors such as physicians’ emotional and cognitive readiness in assessing a situation have not received sufficient attention. Therefore, further research is needed on this factor, which also known as situational awareness. This study aims to redefine emergency readiness by examining the role of resilience as a higher-order construct, with medical work engagement and work-life balance. This study deploys a quantitative survey and recruited emergency physicians from private hospitals through purposive sampling, resulting in 213 eligible respondents. Data analysis used a newly disjoint two-stage approach using SEM-PLS due to the measurement of the lower-order construct as the dimensions of resilience that were measured as HOC. The results showed that resilience significantly influenced situational awareness through purpose and direction, and collaborative culture, but not by feeling valued. The strongest influence on situational awareness was found in having a purpose. Work-life balance can significantly strengthen the positive influence of resilience in a collaborative culture. Conversely, work-life balance weakens the influence of situational awarenesson having purpose and direction as well as feeling valued. These findings may have implications for the development of management in emergency care.

Abstract

This study aims to analyze the influence of leadership, job demands, and job resources on work stress and turnover intention of hospital staff, with work stress as a mediating variable. The study was conducted on medical and non-medical staff at three hospitals in Indonesia using a quantitative approach. A sample of 200 respondents was selected through purposive sampling with the criteria of a minimum of six months of service and direct involvement in hospital operations. Data were collected through a structured questionnaire and analyzed using Partial Least Squares–Structural Equation Modeling (PLS-SEM). The results showed that leadership, job demands, and job resources significantly influenced work stress. Leadership and job demands also positively influenced turnover intention. In addition, work stress was shown to mediate the influence of leadership, job demands, and job resources on turnover intention. This study concluded that effective leadership management, job demand management, and job resource optimization play a significant role in reducing work stress and turnover intention of hospital staff. These findings provide practical implications for hospital management in improving workforce well-being and retention.

Abstract

Hospital competition in Indonesia is increasing, requiring every institution to maintain sustainability through increased operational efficiency. Operational efficiency plays a crucial role in service quality, resource utilization, and hospital financial stability. This study aims to analyze the influence of leadership and communication on operational efficiency with staff attitudes as a mediating variable at ABC Hospital, East Jakarta. This study used a causal quantitative approach with Partial Least Squares-Structural Equation Modeling (PLS-SEM) analysis. The sample consisted of 204 healthcare workers at ABC Hospital. Data was collected using a 7-point Likert-scale questionnaire that had been tested for validity and reliability. The analysis included evaluation of the outer model, inner model, hypothesis testing, and Importance-Performance Map Analysis (IPMA). Leadership and communication significantly influenced staff attitudes. Staff attitudes significantly influenced operational efficiency and partially mediated the influence of leadership on operational efficiency. In addition, leadership also had a direct and significant influence on hospital operational efficiency. Therefore, improving leadership quality and strengthening staff professional attitudes are key strategies in sustainably improving the operational efficiency of ABC Hospital.

Abstract

This study examines the influence of corporate social responsibility, leverage, earnings per share, and profitability (net profit margin and return on equity) on cumulative abnormal return. Using a quantitative approach, this study employs secondary data from 77 consumer cyclical companies listed on the Indonesia Stock Exchange during the 2019–2022 period, resulting in 308 firm-year observations selected through purposive sampling. Panel data regression analysis is conducted using EViews. The empirical results indicate that CSR and net profit margin have a positive and significant effect on cumulative abnormal return, suggesting that social responsibility disclosure and operational profitability enhance investor confidence and market reactions. In contrast, leverage and ROE show a significant negative effect on cumulative abnormal return, implying that higher financial risk and extreme equity Return may be perceived unfavorably by investors. Meanwhile, EPS does not exhibit a significant influence on cumulative abnormal return. These findings imply that both financial performance and non-financial information, particularly CSR, play an important role in shaping investor behavior, and thus should be carefully managed and transparently disclosed to strengthen market responses.

Abstract

The electricity industry faces increasing demands for continuous innovation amid rapid technological advancement and rising customer expectations. Innovative capability is assumed to be influenced not only by leadership and organizational communication but also by the effectiveness of knowledge sharing in facilitating the flow and utilization of organizational knowledge. This study examines the effects of leadership and organizational communication on innovation by incorporating knowledge sharing as a mediating variable. Using a quantitative approach with employee survey data and Partial Least Squares–Structural Equation Modeling (PLS-SEM), the study evaluates the structural relationships and both direct and indirect effects. The findings indicate that leadership has a significant positive effect on knowledge sharing, and organizational communication also positively influences knowledge sharing. Knowledge sharing significantly enhances innovation, while the direct effects of leadership and communication on innovation are not significant. Mediation analysis confirms that knowledge sharing significantly mediates both the leadership–innovation and communication–innovation relationships. These findings highlight that innovation increases primarily when leadership and communication practices are reinforced through structured knowledge-sharing mechanisms.

Abstract

In the digital era, parasocial interactions and fan engagement have become important phenomena in marketing because they have the potential to increase consumer participation and business value. This study aims to answer two main questions: how parasocial relationships encourage customer participation in value co-creation, and what marketing mechanisms transform fan engagement into sustainable brand communities. The research was conducted through a systematic literature review in the fields of marketing and consumer behavior, synthesizing findings from various studies related to parasocial interactions and fan engagement. The analysis results show that emotional connectivity is a catalyst for consumer-led marketing activities, including user-generated content, brand advocacy, and community-based innovation. Digitally mediated parasocial relationships can reduce marketing costs while increasing customer lifetime value through organic engagement. This study provides a strategic framework for brand community management, emphasizing the importance of cultivating parasocial relationships to increase loyalty, word-of-mouth promotion, and premium pricing appeal, thereby creating an emotionally connected consumer ecosystem and generating measurable business value.

Abstract

The evolution of the corporate legal function has shifted its role from traditional compliance toward a strategic enabler of governance and value creation in banking, amid complex regulatory and digital landscapes. This study aims to analyze how the evolution of corporate legal functions influences banking sector financial performance through a systematic literature review. This systematic literature review analyzes 26 peer-reviewed studies from 2015 to 2025 using thematic synthesis aligned with PRISMA guidelines. Four dimensions emerge: expansion from compliance to value creation; legal environments’ influence on bank profitability and efficiency; integration of corporate legal governance with strategic financial management; and legal risk management’s role in fostering compliance culture and sustainable finance. Findings indicate Legal Officers act as crucial mediators balancing regulatory adherence, risk mitigation, and strategic financial objectives, enhancing operational resilience, investor confidence, and sustainable outcomes. The study underscores legal harmonization and ethical governance’s rising importance in digital banking, contributing a Legal-Performance Integration Framework (LPIF) to advance theory and practice in banking legal governance.
