Abstract

This research aims to describe the errors made by students based on their Adversity Quotient (AQ) while solving story problems in statistics. This study is qualitative in nature with a descriptive approach. The subjects of this research are 25 students from class VIII A at SMP Negeri 1 Kediri. The instruments used include an AQ questionnaire, a written test on statistics, and an interview guideline. Based on the research findings, students categorized as AQ quitters and campers mostly made similar errors, including transformation errors, process skill errors, and encoding errors, however, quitters exhibited a higher error rate. Meanwhile, students with AQ climber types primarily made encoding errors. Transformation errors occurred because students did not understand the problems, were unsure how to convert the information from the questions into mathematical forms, and lacked knowledge of the formulas needed to solve the problems. Process skill errors were attributed to students' lack of understanding of the problems, insufficient grasp of the material concepts, and unawareness of the steps required to solve the questions. Encoding errors were caused by mistakes made in previous stages, students' lack of attention to detail, and rushing to write the final answers on the answer sheets.

Abstract

The purpose of this study is to determine how the Game Based Learning model using the Quizizz application influences the interests and learning outcomes of grade VIII students of SMPN 3 Jonggat in the 2024/2025 academic year. The results of the Manova analysis obtained a significance value of 0.002 < 0.05, which means that H1 is accepted or there is a difference in the average interest and mathematics learning outcomes of students in the experimental class who use the game based learning model with the Quizizz application and the control class who use the conventional model. The results of the t test show a significance value of 0.006 < 0.05, which means that H1 is accepted or there is a difference in the average learning interest of the experimental class and the control class with the average value of the experimental class being 72.25, which is higher than the control class, namely 70.65. Likewise, there is a difference in the average mathematics learning outcomes of experimental class students, which is higher than that of the control class, with the average score of the experimental class being 85.01, which is higher than the control class, namely 71.35. Because there is a difference between the average of the experimental class and the control class and the average score of the experimental class is superior to the control class, there is an influence of the use of the game based learning model using the Quizizz application on the interest and learning outcomes in mathematics for class VIII students at SMPN 3 JONGGAT for the 2024/2025 academic year.

Abstract

This study aims to determine whether or not there is an effect of using Canva learning media on student learning outcomes in class XI circle material at SMK Negeri 3 Selong. This research is an experimental research with quasi experimental design. The study population was the XI grade students of SMK Negeri 3 Selong as many as 4 classes. The research sample was two classes, namely the experimental class using Canva-based learning media and the control class using conventional media taken using cluster random sampling. Data collection techniques using observation and tests. As for the instrument validity test, it was carried out with the content validity test which was calculated using the Aiken's V index. Data analysis carried out is normality test, homogeneity test, hypothesis test, and effect size test to see whether there is an effect of Canva-based learning media on student learning outcomes on circle material. The results showed t_hitung (2.661) > t_table (2.01), the effect size test results were 0.757 and the average value of the posttest results of the class using Canva-based learning media was higher than the class using conventional media. So it can be concluded that learning by using Canva-based learning media has an effect on student learning outcomes in circle material class XI SMK Negeri 3 Selong academic year 2024/2025.

Abstract

Limited access to printed materials, lack of interaction, and lack of multimedia-based learning media are significant problems, especially in remote areas such as NTB. In addition, the situation is further complicated by the limitations of infrastructure, internet connections, and teachers' technological capabilities. The purpose of this study is to create a web-based Learning Resource Center (PSB) that utilizes technology to support learning and offer interactive teaching materials. Needs analysis, PSB structure development, guideline preparation, and validation and usability test are all methods used to conduct this study. The inability of technology, the limitations of infrastructure, and the effects of print media on the environment are the main problems identified. Interactive teaching materials, teacher training, wider access to learning materials, and web-based multimedia are some of the solutions that come to mind. The results show that the web-based PSB can function as a learning resource center and support the development of technology-based teaching materials, learning systems, and multimedia. This PSB also provides facilities such as multimedia labs, digital libraries, and access to interactive teaching materials, which improve the quality of learning. So, web-based PSBs help support technology learning, overcome limited access to teaching materials, and improve the quality and efficiency of education, especially in areas with limited infrastructure.

Abstract

Life expectancy (LE) is an essential indicator reflecting public health status and the success of health systems. In Nusa Tenggara Barat (NTB) Province, LE remains below the national average, with significant regional disparities. This study seeks to examine the connections between access to sanitation and clean water, child health, and maternal health in relation to LE in NTB. The research employs the Structural Equation Modeling-Partial Least Squares (SEM-PLS) method, which facilitates the analysis of complex interrelationships among variables. The results indicate that sanitation and clean water access significantly influence LE, followed by child health. However, women's and maternal health does not have a significant influence on the improvement of life expectancy in NTB.

Abstract

Higher-order thinking skills are essential competencies in 21st-century mathematics education, particularly for higher education students. One crucial aspect of this skill is the understanding of interconnected mathematical concepts. However, students often experience misconceptions that hinder their comprehension. This study aims to analyze the types and causes of students' misconceptions in the concepts of combinatorics and number theory. The research adopts a quantitative approach to measure the percentage of each type of misconception and a descriptive qualitative approach to explain how these misconceptions occur. The subjects of this study were 113 preservice mathematics teachers. The shows that a Three-Tier Diagnostic Test, was developed to identify misconceptions in detail. The findings revealed that pure misconceptions are the most dominant type, occurring in both combinatorics (34.80%) and number theory (27.80%). Students often fail to connect new concepts with their prior knowledge, a problem exacerbated by fragmented understanding from early education. These misconceptions have the potential to impact their future mathematics teaching, especially if they become educators

Abstract

The metric dimension is a fundamental concept in graph theory that utilizes the vector representation of distances between vertices and a subset of vertices in a graph. This concept has broad applications in various fields, such as navigation, network localization, and network design. Let G(V,E) be a connected graph with order n . A subset L={v1,v2,v3} subset of V(G) is called a resolving set, and the representation of a vertex v with respect to L is a vector (d(v,v1), d(v,v2)..d(v,vk)) , where d(v,vi) is the distance between v and vi . The metric dimension of G, denoted as dim(G), is the smallest cardinality of L such that every vertex in G has a unique representation. The windmill graph K1+nK3 is a graph obtained by connecting a vertex x in the complete graph K1 to every vertex in n copies of the complete graph K3. This paper employs a structural analysis method focused on the single vertex in K1 and determines the vector representations of all vertices in the windmill graph by analyzing inter-vertex distances. The final result shows that the metric dimension, dim (K1+nK3)= 2n, where n is an integer grether than 2 .
