Abstract

This study examines the role of the kuda pattu’duq tradition in the community of Campalagian District, Polewali Mandar Regency, from the perspective of maqashid al-shari’ah. The research focuses on how this tradition conveys social and religious meaning and its impact on community life. The objectives are to identify the significance of kuda pattu’duq, explore its relevance to maqashid al-shari’ah principles, and analyze its implications for social and religious life. A qualitative approach was employed, combining phenomenological, sociological, and sharia perspectives. Data were collected through observation, interviews, and documentation from cultural figures, community leaders, youth, religious leaders, and government officials, then analyzed thematically. Findings indicate that horses, riders, traditional attire, kalindaqdaq, and rebana hold symbolic social and religious meanings; maqashid al-shari’ah emphasizes the protection of religion (hifdz ad-din), life (hifdz an-nafs), and wealth (hifdz al-maal) as guiding principles for the tradition; while its social and religious implications include enhanced solidarity, cultural promotion, motivation for Qur’an recitation, and parental expressions of gratitude. This study demonstrates that the kuda pattu’duq tradition strengthens Mandar cultural identity while fostering religious understanding among the younger generation.

Abstract

Memorizing the Qur’an is a vital activity in Islamic education, fostering students’ spiritual values, discipline, and learning responsibility. However, the monitoring of memorization often lacks systematic instruments. This study aims to analyze the implementation of the student profile book in monitoring the Qur’an memorization of ninth-grade students at MTs Sains Algebra, Sorong City, and and its impact on monitoring students' memorization. The research employs a descriptive qualitative approach, collecting data through observation, interviews, and documentation involving teachers, students, and parents. Data were analyzed through reduction, presentation, and conclusion drawing. The results indicate that the student profile book was developed to meet the school’s need for a structured system to monitor memorization and to engage parents in continuing the learning process at home. The book is designed to be simple, clear, and easy to understand, involving all relevant parties. In practice, students submit their memorization to the class teacher according to a set schedule, and the book is periodically handed over to parents. Its implementation enhances structured monitoring, improves memorization quality, discipline, motivation, and strengthens collaboration between the school and parents. The study implies that the student profile book is an effective evaluative, collaborative, and strategic tool for supporting Qur’an learning in schools.

Abstract

Sharia cooperatives play a strategic role in promoting equitable economic growth, particularly in Central Tapanuli Regency. However, their development still faces various challenges, such as low-quality human resources, weak institutional governance, limited capital, as well as insufficient regulatory support and competitiveness compared to other financial institutions. This study aims to analyze models for the development of Islamic cooperatives and determine effective strategic priorities to improve their performance. The study employs a mixed-methods approach using the Analytic Network Process (ANP) method. Data were collected through in-depth interviews and paired-comparison questionnaires involving experts, regulators, and cooperative managers. The results indicate that internal factors are the primary constraints, with a dominant focus on human resources, particularly managerial capabilities and understanding of Sharia principles. Meanwhile, external factors such as competitors and regulatory support also influence the development of the cooperatives. The implications of this study underscore the importance of strengthening human resource capacity through continuous training and adaptive policy support to enhance the competitiveness and sustainability of Islamic cooperatives.
