Abstract

The disassembly phase in remanufacturing currently takes an average of 8 days, surpassing the standard of 7 days due to non-value-added activities, as known as waste. Although efforts to handle this issue have been made, they have introduced new challenges, particularly time waste in system adjustments. This study addresses the problem by employing TRIZ and Root Conflict Analysis (RCA+) methods to identify contradictions and propose innovative solutions to minimize waste. Findings reveal a 25% waste activity, with waiting activities contributing to 19% of the total. The research identifies 5 contradictions, each having both negative and positive impacts on the disassembly process. Proposed solutions involve implementing Magnetic Particle Testing or Ultrasonic Testing, organizing tiered boxes, offering understanding and inspection supervision to mechanics, utilizing a variety of wrench sizes, and developing a checklist for disassembly stages based on the sequence of main components.

Abstract

Orchid plant propagation through conventional means is considered less effective and fairly long, so the propagation method used is tissue culture. This study aims to determine the effect of shallot extract concentration and coconut water on the growth of moon orchid (Phalaenopsis amabilis) planlets. The experimental design used was CRD two factors. The first factor is the concentration of shallot extract with 4 levels, namely 0 g/l, 20 g/l, 30 g/l, 40 g/l. The second factor is the addition of coconut water with 4 levels. The second factor is the addition of coconut water with 4 levels, namely 0 ml/l, 50 ml/l, 100 ml/l, 150 ml/l. Data analysis using ANOVA, followed by 5% BNJ test. The parameters used in this study include the addition of planlet height, root length and planlet fresh weight. The results showed that there was an interaction in the combination of 20 g/l shallot extract and 50 ml/l coconut water on all parameters studied.

Abstract

UD Dirgahayu is a tranding business located in Maumere, Sikka Regency, East Nusa Tenggara, Indonesia which sells fertilizer and plant seeds to the public. Business processes at UD Dirgahayu still use manual systems such as sales transaction processes, making reports, checking stock, requesting product stock from suppliers, and product marketing reach is still narrow, namely only in Maumere City. This research tries to create an enterprise architecture plan to help align UD Dirgahayu’s business goals with information technology solutions to make them more effective and efficient. The method used in this research is TOGAF ADM, using five stages starting from vision architecture to opportunities and solutions. The results of this research are from a blueprint for vision architecture, business architecture, application architecture, data architecture, technology architecture, and opportunities and solutions that are expected to increase the efficiency of UD Dirgahayu’s activities.

Abstract

The relatively new and innovative welding technique known as friction stir welding (FSW) has found widespread application in the automotive, railway, and aircraft industries. Due to engineering and financial considerations, welding of dissimilar metals is frequently carried out in these industries. During the friction stir welding process, three tool rotational speeds—910, 1500, and 2280 rpm—were utilized, while the welding speed remained constant at 30 mm/min. Several experimental works, including fractography, tensile tests, and observations of the microstructure, were carried out following welding. Results showed that ultimate tensile strength (UTS) and yield strength (YS) expanded as the tool rotational speed was expanded and the best UTS and YS, typically 228 MPa and 156 MPa at the speed of 2280 rpm. The precipitation of AA6061-T6 in the stir zone (SZ) and the increased degree of mixing were linked to the improved weld strengths.

Abstract

The abundance of agricultural waste in Indonesia, in which the utilization is less than optimal, has encouraged a lot of research to develop technology for utilizing agricultural waste. One of the utilizations of lignocellulosic agricultural waste is as a potential raw material source for producing bioactive compounds that can be applied in functional food or nutraceutical preparations products. Xylo-oligosaccharides (XOS) are one of the oligosaccharide compounds that can be produced from the bioconversion process of lignocellulosic biomass. XOS is known to have potential as a promising prebiotic. Increasing global demand for XOS has driven various innovations in the search for efficient and environmentally friendly production methods. Therefore, developing a production strategy is very important to stimulate more sustainable XOS production. Until now, many researchers have developed different methods to obtain optimal XOS results, both in quantity and quality. This review will summarize some XOS production methodologies and strategies.

Abstract

Plastic waste is the most widely disposed of by humans, be it individuals, shops, and large companies. For this reason, data collection is needed in regions throughout Indonesia. From the data, it can be grouped what areas have a high, average, and low percentage of plastic waste. This can be done with data mining methods with one of the functions as clustering. The suitable algorithm to apply is K.means. In 2019, out of 242 districts/cities, there are 82 districts/cities cluster 0, 17 districts/cities cluster 1, and 143 districts/cities cluster 2. In 2020, out of 248 districts/cities, there are 73 districts/cities cluster 0, 25 districts/cities cluster 1, and 150 districts/cities cluster 2. In 2021, out of 236 districts/cities, there are 65 districts/cities cluster 0, 24 districts/cities cluster 1, and 147 districts/cities cluster 2. In 2022, there are 86 districts/cities cluster 0, 34 districts/cities cluster 1, and 191 districts/cities cluster 2.

Abstract

The well-being of society, involving the fulfilment of basic needs and opportunities for education and employment, can be measured through the happiness index. This research aims to assist the Indonesian government in achieving Sustainable Development Goal 3 related to Health and Well-being. It is hoped that by comprehending these factors, the government can improve the health and well-being of the Indonesian population. The happiness index varies across different geographical regions due to factors such as culture, social dynamics, and the environment, which can have different impacts from one region to another. Given the randomness in data patterns stemming from the diverse provinces in Indonesia, this study employs the Mixed Geographically Weighted Regression (MGWR) method. Results reveal that the MGWR model, utilizing a fixed Gaussian kernel weight, yields the lowest Akaike’s Information Criterion Corrected and the highest at 87.2%, underscoring its precision in modeling the happiness index in Indonesia.

Abstract

Tofu production businesses are found in various regions, including Kolaka Regency. Tofu production businesses, which are generally on a household scale, usually depend heavily on achieving daily sales targets because tofu has a limited storage time. To avoid losses, tofu production must be carried out optimally. This research aims to optimize daily tofu production through implementing a Fuzzy inference system using the Mamdani method. This research depends on the availability of a dataset whose analysis process is experimental and numerical. The research results show that the fuzzy model can optimize daily tofu production from January to March. This claim is supported by the level of accuracy in the sufficient category, namely 77.7% when using RMSE, and the very good category when using MPE, namely 91.01%. Therefore, the fuzzy inference system model produced in this research can be used as an alternative for tofu industry businesses in determining daily tofu production.

Abstract

Politeknik Negeri Balikpapan berupaya mendukung penurunan emisi gas rumah kaca melalui pengembangan sumber energi terbarukan.
