Abstract

This research was motivated by the low initial reading skills of students in class B at Tiara Pertiwi Loa Janan Kindergarten, a problem was found, namely that more than half of the students in the class did not know the letters of the alphabet, factors that caused students' low initial reading skills, including inadequate learning models and media. effective. The aim of this research is to determine the influence of the contextual learning model on the beginning reading abilities of children aged 5-6 years at Tiara Pertiwi Loa Janan Kindergarten. This type of research is quantitative, namely using experimental research methods with the research type Quasi Experimental Design and the research design is Nonequivalent Control Group Design. The population in this study were all class B students at Tiara Pertiwi Loa Janan Kindergarten. The samples in this research were class B2 as the experimental class and class B4 as the control class. The initial reading ability data obtained were analyzed using descriptive statistics and inferential statistics in the SPSS 28.0 For Windows program. The results show that the posttest completeness percentage values ​​for the experimental class and control class are 100% and 20% respectively. The results of hypothesis testing using the Independent Sample T-test in the SPSS 28.0 For Windows program showed that Two-Sided p was 0.003, smaller than 0.05, thus H0 was rejected and H1 was accepted. The conclusion from the research results after treatment is that the contextual learning model has a significant effect on the beginning reading abilities of children aged 5-6 years at Tiara Pertiwi Loa Janan Kindergarten.  Using a contextual learning model with picture media and letter cards makes learning fun and more enthusiastic about recognizing letters.

Abstract

The aim of this research is to determine the level of parental satisfaction with services at the Dharma Yoga Santi Yogyakarta Daycare. This research is descriptive quantitative research using a questionnaire as a research instrument. The research respondents were 25 parents. The data was then analyzed quantitatively. The research results showed that: 1) 75% of parents expressed satisfaction and 18.8% stated they were very satisfied with the development achieved by their children, 2) 68.8% of parents stated they were satisfied, and 18.8% stated they were very satisfied with the implementation of the curriculum in the learning process, 3) 62.5% of parents said they were satisfied and 25% said they were very satisfied with the assessment of children's development, 4) 56.3% said they were satisfied and 31.3% said they were very satisfied with the ability of educators to guide children, 5) 56.3% said they were satisfied and 25% said they were very satisfied with communication carried out by educators, 6) 43.8% said they were satisfied and 43.8% said they were very satisfied with the ability of educators to act and behave towards children, 7) 43.8% said they were satisfied and 25% said they were very satisfied with the availability of school infrastructure, 8) 68.8% said they were satisfied, and 25% said they were quite satisfied with the availability of facilities that support children's play activities, and 9) 68.8% said they were satisfied and 25% said they were quite satisfied with the management of daycare facilities and infrastructure. Satisfaction with infrastructure and its management can be further improved to support the stimulation of children's growth and development and increase parents' trust in the institution.

Abstract

Motor skills are the ability to move parts of the body. Crawling, walking, running, and jumping are examples of motor skills. These skills are categorized into gross motor skills and fine motor skills. Good motor skills are not necessarily acquired by chance alone, but these skills must be acquired through sensory stimulation, teaching, and repeated practice. The focus of this research is only on the development of fine motor skills in children aged 5-6 years, where this skill is more difficult because it requires the ability to coordinate the body with small muscles, as well as training concentration and focus, self-control, and the need for more attention. Various activities can be carried out as an effort by parents and educators to develop fine motor skills, including collage activities. A collage is an activity of pasting and arranging materials systematically on the image surface. The materials used for collage activities in this research are natural in the form of seashells. This research uses quantitative research methods. The research object was Kober Harapan Kita Kalianda, South Lampung with a sample of 30 children aged 5-6 years. The independent variable in this research is collage activities using natural materials as media, while the dependent variable is the fine motor skills of children aged 5-6 years. The results of the t-test calculations in the experimental class are known to be sig, (2-tailed) of 0.00. This sig (2-tailed) value is smaller than 0.05 (5%) which means that Ha is accepted and Ho is rejected. So it can be concluded that collage activities using natural materials as media affect the fine motor skills of children aged 5-6 years in Kober Harapan Kita Kalianda, South Lampung Regency.

Abstract

The significant transformation of the 5.0 era presents challenges and opportunities, especially in the world of education. On the other hand, innovation in the development of information and technology requires adaptation, one of which is through emotional intelligence from an early age. The environment around children has an important role in developing children's emotional intelligence, both in the school environment and at home around children. The purpose of this study is to examine the application of developing children's emotional intelligence through prophetic parenting with an epistemological perspective at the Muslimat NU 001 Ponorogo Kindergarten. This research uses a type of qualitative method through a field study approach, with data collection techniques including three stages, namely observation, interviews, and documentation. The research sources consist of two subjects, namely primary sources including the results of field data and theories from books, as well as secondary sources from articles supporting this research. The analysis technique of the results of this study shows that the application of emotional intelligence in children includes seven characteristics of prophetic parenting, namely showing role models, finding the right time to give direction, being fair and equalizing gifts, fulfilling children's rights, buying children toys or rewards, helping children do obedience and filial piety, and not being angry and reproaching children. These activities are carried out through habituation and direction of children during learning hours and outside of learning, as well as monthly parenting activities with student guardians. This is in line with the point of view of epistemological philosophy which explains the origin, process, results and direction of knowledge as well as the concepts of “existence” and “existence” in education. The development of emotional intelligence through prophetic parenting at TK Muslimat NU 001 Ponorogo is very effective, systematic and recommended by the author as a reference for educators or parents in introducing and teaching emotional intelligence based on the Qur'an and Hadith.

Abstract

Abstrak Konsep bermain bermakna yang terdapat pada kurikulum merdeka untuk fase pondasi menjadi konsep yang berupaya mewujudkan bermain yang bermakna bagi anak. Dalam implementasinya tercatat 42,8% satuan PAUD di Indonesia telah menerapkan merdeka bermain. Akan tetapi konsep merdeka bermain nyatanya belum sepenuhnya dimaknai dalam implementasinya. Penelitian ini berupaya mengkaji lebih dalam terkait implementasi makna ‘merdeka’ pada konsep merdeka bermain dalam pembelajaran di satuan pendidikan. Pada penelitian ini, konsep merdeka bermain ditelaah menggunakan teori bermain kontemporer. Metode yang digunakan pada penelitian ini yaitu kualitatif eksploratif dengan teknik pengambilan data observasi partisipatif yang dilakukan peneliti pada kegiatan workshop implementasi kurikulum merdeka Kab. Bandung, teknik wawancara tidak terstruktur pada 8 guru PAUD, dan teknik liblary research. Dari penelitian yang telah dilaksanakan peneliti berargumen bahwa makna ‘merdeka’ dalam merdeka bermain belum sepenuhnya terwujud dikarenakan berbagai masalah dilapangan yang berimbas pada kurang optimalnya implementasi konsep merdeka bermain. Padahal seharusnya merdeka bermain bisa memberikan pengalaman bermain bermakna bagi anak yang bertujuan untuk memberikan suasana belajar yang menyenangkan serta meningkatkan kualitas pembelajaran, yang akan berdampak pada proses stimulasi perkembangan anak. Abstract

This research discusses the Early Childhood Care Practices in Madura Family at the Polagan Village, Galis District, Pamekasan Regency. This study aims to investigate the practice of early childhood care in the migrant family in Polagan Village, Galis District, Pamekasan Regency, focusing on the impact of the whereabouts of parents who migrates in the childcare process. This research uses qualitative methods with a case study approach. Data were obtained through interviews, observations, and documentation carried out against Madura migrant families, especially parents and child caregivers. Data analysis is carried out inductiveally by emphasizing the meaning behind the observed data. The results show that breakup with parents can stretch an emotional relationship between children and parents, hampering the formation of basic beliefs, and causing problems in their next child personal development. Parenting strategies implemented by the migrant family in dealing with these challenges included using alternative caregivers such as grandparents or close relatives, as well as utilizing communication technology to maintain interaction with children.

Abstract

This study focuses on the impact of YouTube content on early childhood language development in the digital era, highlighting the roles of parenting and social change. The research background is the increasing dominance of YouTube as an educational platform for children, potentially influencing their cognitive and linguistic development. The aim of this study is to explore how exposure to YouTube content affects children's language development, and to analyze the roles of parenting and social change dynamics in this process. The research method employed is a descriptive qualitative approach, with data collected through participatory observation, in-depth interviews with parents and teachers, and analysis of digital content frequently accessed by children. The results indicate that educational content on YouTube can enrich vocabulary, enhance grammar comprehension, and support children's speaking abilities, provided the content is of high quality and consumed in a controlled manner. However, excessive exposure to YouTube content can lead to negative effects, such as the introduction of inappropriate words and a decrease in social interaction. This study also found that the role of parenting, including content selection, screen time management, and involvement in discussions, is crucial in maximizing benefits and minimizing negative impacts of digital media. The conclusion of this research emphasizes the need for balance in the use of digital technology and the importance of parenting in ensuring that digital experiences support children's overall language development and social skills.

Abstract

Disaster events always bring sadness and suffering that result in damaging and destroying everything. When a disaster occurs, of course the victims who suffer the most are children, so equipping children with knowledge and skills in dealing with disaster situations is important to consider. Liquefaction disaster mitigation education really needs to be attempted and prepared so that children become more responsive and responsive in facing disasters in the future. The purpose of this paper is related to the description and definition of disaster mitigation education, a brief description of liquefaction, then describing the circuit play model, and the recommended psychomotor development for PAUD children. The method used is qualitative research in the form of library research, using several books, related to disaster mitigation education and early childhood education studies; relevant articles, such as knowledge about liquefaction and its impacts, the results of circuit play model research, and other literature as the main objects. The research data is in the form of library data that has been selected, searched, presented and analyzed. The conclusion of this paper is a choice of activities in developing children's psychomotor skills through the circuit play model of liquefaction disaster mitigation. Psychomotor development that appears in children's playing activities with this model is the movement of walking, jumping, hopping, walking on tiptoes, running straight, running zigzag, spinning, crawling in a drum tunnel, and walking on a bottle bridge. The more often children practice with this model, the more alert, flexible, agile their movements become, and make children's fighting power and endurance strong and tough.

Abstract

This study aims to evaluate the effectiveness of the Projek Penguatan Profil Pelajar Pancasila (P5) in instilling character values at PKK Kindergarten Batu City, focusing on the theme “I Love Indonesia” and the corn sub-topic. The research method used was a qualitative approach with a case study design, involving 30 learners, two teachers, and the principal as research subjects. Data were collected through observation, interviews, and documentation, which were then analyzed using the Miles and Huberman interactive analysis model. The results showed that this project succeeded in creating an interactive, meaningful and fun learning atmosphere, where children were actively involved in corn food processing activities. P5 results showed an increase in the ability of students in terms of academics and the development of character values of cultural respect, mutual cooperation, critical reasoning. Interviews with teachers and principals revealed that this project serves as an effective means to instill character values in learners, with improved collaboration and communication skills among learners. In addition, documentation shows that children are able to process and produce work that reflects understanding in accordance with the project theme. This study concludes that the Pancasila Learner Profile Strengthening Project at PKK Kindergarten Batu City can be used as a good model for early childhood character development in the context of education in Indonesia.
