Abstract

The purpose of this study was to describe and analyze the indirect/direct role of the principal's leadership, subordinate maturity, work motivation, and discipline of teachers. This was a quantitative research with a correlational descriptive design. Data were obtained from 154 people through questionnaires. Furthermore, the data obtained were analyzed to test hypotheses using path analysis with multiple regression methods. The results showed that the Principal's indirect/direct Leadership Role, Subordinate Maturity, work motivation, and work discipline of teachers are in the moderate category. Efforts should be made to increase the level of maturity of subordinates, this can be done by involving low and middle-level teachers in various development programs, such as education and training, seminars, or if it is possible to provide learning tasks to teachers with low and moderate levels of maturity for raise the level of education to increase the maturity of their work

Abstract

Teacher performance is an activity in learning which is expected to be able to improve the quality and relevance of education. In the implementation of school, performance is influenced by many factors and interrelated for example work motivation, work discipline, and teacher professional attitude. This research aims to analyze the relationship between work motivation, teachers' professional attitude, discipline, and performance. Data were obtained from 173 elementary school teachers at the district of South Labuan Amas, through questionnaires and analyzed using the path analysis. The result of this research shows that there is a strong relationship between work motivation with teacher professional attitude, performance, and discipline. There is a strong relationship between work motivation with the teacher's performance, discipline, and professional attitude. Furthermore, there is a weak relation between work discipline and the teacher's professional attitude, discipline, and attitude. Advice this research to increase the factors that affect the teacher performance, the school should reward teachers for performance.

Abstract

The demand for knowledge plays a major role in the reading and writing ability of individuals towards an advanced generation. This study aims to describe the planning, organization, implementation, evaluation, and follow-up of literacy culture at SDN SN Sungai Miai 5 and 7 (National Standardized State Elementary Schools) in Banjarmasin. Data were collected through in-depth interviews, participatory observation, and documentation techniques, with its analysis carried out qualitatively. The results show that both schools have a good literacy culture and work together with residents to achieve the desired goals. It also shows a big influence on the achievements generated by the schools. It is hoped that the results of this study is used as material for consideration in implementing literacy culture development management in other schools.

Abstract

According to studies, strategic management has a significant influence on schools and is considered an essential method used to achieve quality education. The purpose of this research, therefore, is to provide in-depth knowledge of strategic planning, implementation, evaluation, and achievement. This research uses a qualitative multi-site study approach, with data obtained from interviews, observations, and documentation. Furthermore, the sample study was selected through purposive techniques and snowball sampling, with a single case and cross-site used for its analysis. This research shows that schools implemented strategic management to improve its quality following the procedures. Therefore, it is recommended for schools in Muhammadiyah to utilize it in its advancement

Abstract

The purpose of this research was to determine the relationship between chemistry Teacher Deliberation (MGMP) activities and academic supervision with performance assessment (PKG). It uses a quantitative approach with descriptive methods and correlation techniques. Data were obtained from a sample of 54 chemistry teachers from all Senior High School in Banjarmasin using a questionnaire that tested for validity and reliability. Data were analyzed to determine the relationship between variables using Pearson product-moment and multiple correlations. The results showed there was a positive relationship between MGMP chemistry activities and performance assessment. There was also a positive relationship between academic supervision and performance assessment, as well as between MGMP activities and academic supervision with performance assessment. There is a need for learning to shift from the teacher to the student center as an implication of adopting the 2013 curriculum.

Abstract

The purpose of this research is to describe and analyze the relationship between instructional leadership, progressive professional development, work motivation, and the results of elementary school teacher competency tests. The sample number of 120 was obtained by Proportional Random Sampling from 172 people in 22 schools at Binuang District. Data was collected using questionnaires that had passed validity and reliability tests. It was then analyzed by the product-moment correlation. The results obtained indicated a strong correlation between instructional leadership, continuing professional development, and work motivation about teacher competency test results. This research is expected to enhance teacher development and in further studies to improve education. Furthermore, it could be used by the teachers as an evaluation material, and as feedback for refinement and improvement of their ability and delivery. Also, information from this document could be used by the school principal to foster a good working environment for teachers. With good guidance, teachers would be competent enough to improve the learners? achievement. Additionally, this research provides the education stakeholders information which could be used in decision making to foster the teaching profession to achieve set goals and the quality of learning. And, it could be utilized as a reference document in future researches regarding the same subject matter.

Abstract

This study aims to describe the influence of the principal's leadership style, teacher's work commitment, teacher's work spirit, towards the teacher?s performance of junior high school teachers in Banjarbaru City. The sample is determined through the steps of determining the proportional random sampling technique of each member of the sub-population based on the number of schools studied so that a sample of teachers is obtained to study 225 people. The results showed: There was a significant direct effect on the principal's leadership style, the work commitment of teachers to the work spirit of junior high school teachers in Banjarbaru City. There is a significant direct effect of teacher morale, school principal leadership style, and teacher work commitment on the performance and there is a significant indirect effect of the principal's leadership style and teacher's work commitment through the teacher's work enthusiasm on the performance. The result it is expected that they can understand the types of good leadership, and then can be applied in the school environment to provide examples and support for teachers to have a high spirit or work and work commitment in achieving better performance.

Abstract

The achievement associated with educational goals is inseparable from a conducive school environment that helps to create a feeling of comfort in educational institutions. This study aimed to determine the role of principal leadership, religious habituation programs, character education, and work climate in Madrasah Tsanawiyah, Banjarbaru City. This was a quantitative study that utilized correlational techniques through path analysis with a total sample of 173 people. Data were collected by using questionnaires that have met the validity and reliability test requirements, with path analysis and multiple regression methods used to test the hypotheses. The results showed that the leadership role of school principals, the religious habituation program, character education, and work climate in madrassas were of high classification. This led to the creation of leadership that was able to advance schools with good characters.

Abstract

School is an institution where the educational process follows a complex and dynamic system. This study aimed to describe and analyze the effectiveness of the headmaster's leadership and organizational climate on achievement motivation and performance of teachers in the school setting. This research was correlational research using path analysis with 139 teachers as a sample and the data obtained was analyzed through the use of multiple regression methods. The results showed the effectiveness of the headmaster's leadership; organizational climate and teacher achievement motivation were included in the moderate category; while the teacher's performance was in a good category.

Abstract

Learning activities cannot be carried out with optimum results in case teachers have professional competence. Academic supervision by the school principals and professional learning community activities are two of the efforts which are conducted to improve teachers? professionalism competence in Indonesia, especially in kindergarten level. This study aims at finding out the effect of school principal supervision and participation of the kindergarten teachers in Teacher Working Group (TWG), a kind of professional learning community, towards the kindergarten teachers? professional competence. There were 57 kindergarten teachers involved in this study. Data of the study were collected through questionnaire. The collected data from the result of the questionnaire were analyzed using multiple regression statistical analysis. Statistically, the results of the study show that academic supervision of quality achievement conducted by the school principals and teachers? participation in TWG have a significant effect on teachers? professional competence. For this reason, the following suggestions are made: (1) It is necessary for teachers to develop a positive mindset about the benefits of academic supervision; (2) teachers also need to actively participate in TWG activities; and (3) school principals needs to be closer to teachers.
