Writing skills have an important role as a communication system rather than as an object of study which has taken place in both second and foreign language settings. In this research, the focus is on students’ writing descriptive text to using Google Classroom on students’ writing descriptive text. The researcher conducted this research at Mts. Ma’arif Sidomukti Kebomas. The sample in this research was 34 students of 7.3 at Mts. Ma’arif Sidomukti. The researcher used the quantitative method by a pre-experimental design with given pre-test before treatment and post-test after treatment. Then data analysis using IBM SPSS v28.0 with the formula paired sample t-test. This showed that the average obtained by the post-test was higher than the pre-test. This indicated that the treatment was successful. It has paired T-test calculation researcher. T-test was calculated to determine the comparison of the two means between pre-test and post-test. From the table above, the value of Asymp. Sig. (2-tailed) is 0.001 at the critical value for the 5% level. This means that the significance value is less than 5% or (0.001<0.05). So, the null hypothesis can be rejected. It can be concluded that the study's google classroom media is effective.

Abstract

Research shows that mobile computing like iPads and tablets has gained popularity in classrooms. While prior research has explored technology in education broadly, this study specifically focuses on the impact of tablets on English language teaching within the intermediate phase. The study was underpinned by the Technological Pedagogical Content Knowledge model. A qualitative approach was employed in this study for contextual inquiry, enabling a deeper understanding of the impact of tablet integration on English teaching and learning. The sample for this research consisted of five teachers selected through convenience sampling. These participants taught English within the intermediate phase at schools in Mpumalanga province, South Africa. Semi-structured interviews with open-ended questions were used to inquire educators about their teaching methods, challenges, and how tablets have affected student learning. Data were analyzed by developing themes. The findings revealed that tablet integration led to improvements in pedagogical practices, and increased student engagement. However, challenges such as limited technological infrastructure, the need for teacher training, and the potential for tablets to introduce distractions and hinder critical thinking among students were established. We argue that to be effective, tablet integration requires equitable access, curricular knowledge, teaching methodologies, technological skills, and individualized learning for every student.

Abstract

This study focuses on using an online SRL strategy to improve the writing skills of pesantren students. SRL strategy is used for learners to set a goal, plan, and integrate their learning independently. Data are collected from 131 university students of pesantren for 16 (sixteen) weeks. Two groups: experimental and control are the same duration, but only the experimental group receives the intervention. All groups get pre-and posttest writing as well as the SRL questionnaire. The findings demonstrate that when learners use SRL in writing skills on metacognitive, social behavior, and motivational control tactics, they are more engaged and driven. Furthermore, the SRL method can raise the level of linguistics.

The data was gathered from 15 February 2024 til 18 February 2024 in the academic year 2023/2024. Based on the research results presented, it can be concluded that the use of Instagram Reels media is effective in improving students' speaking skills. This is supported by the increase in scores between the pre-test and post-test, which shows that the post-test scores are significantly higher than the pre-test scores. Data analysis using SPSS also shows that there is a significant difference between the pre-test and post-test scores. Therefore, the null hypothesis (H0) is rejected, and the alternative hypothesis (Ha) is accepted, which indicates that the use of Instagram Reels has a positive impact on students' speaking abilities. Abstract

This study investigates the effectiveness of incorporating memory strategies to enhance students' vocabulary acquisition in an English course. The study followed a pre-experimental design and applied quantitative methods, which included three stages: pre-test assessment, memory strategy application, and post-test evaluation. The researcher used paired sample t-test analysis to assess the influence of memory methods on vocabulary acquisition, with a specific emphasis on the speaking phase. The research findings indicated a substantial enhancement in vocabulary learning, as shown by a considerable rise in the average score from 60.55 to 68.88. The reduction in standard deviation and standard error of mean further underscored the enhanced consistency and precision of the observed improvements. This research advises the ongoing incorporation of memory methods into language teaching. It offers educators and researchers invaluable information for developing dynamic and successful language learning settings. Therefore, it is essential to consider the constraints of this research. In addition, the findings of this research may serve as a foundation for the future development of more effective approaches to English language acquisition. The subsequent study is anticipated to examine the use of memory methods in a broader context of language acquisition.
