Abstract

Stroke in the elderly should get attention, especially the family in the form of providing support to the elderly after stroke. Family support for the elderly after stroke is expected to increase the independence of the elderly in daily living (ADL) activities. The purpose of this study was to determine the relationship between family support and the level of independence in activity daily living (ADL) in the elderly after stroke at the Neurology Polyclinic of Sufina Aziz General Hospital Medan. This study uses descriptive correlation with a cross sectional approach. This study was carried out on March 21, 2022 to April 2, 2022. The sampling technique used was accidental sampling with a total of 30 patients. Then the data is processed starting from editing, coding, tabulating, entry and processing. The results showed that the support given by the family to the elderly after stroke who sought treatment at the Neurology Polyclinic of Sufina Aziz General Hospital Medan was quite good and the level of independence in Activity Daily Living (ADL) in the Post-Stroke Elderly at the Neurology Polyclinic of Sufina Aziz General Hospital Medan was mild dependence. Based on the results of the chi-square test, it can be concluded that the relationship between family support and the level of independence in daily living (ADL) in the elderly after stroke at the Neurology Polyclinic of Sufina Aziz General Hospital Medan with p value = 0.012 a<0.05.

Abstract

Dental plaque is a soft deposit firmly attached to the surface of teeth, formed from a mixture of saliva; such as mucin, remnants of oral tissue cells, leukocytes, lymphocytes with food debris, and bacteria resulting in the initial occurrence of tooth decay due to reduced pH. Unfortunately, currently available antiseptics-based mouthwash, used to prevent dental plaque formation, is thought to have a carcinogenic effect. Therefore, an alternative plaque was proposed using herbal antibacterial agents. Cocoa beans have anti-bacterial properties and are known to have active anti-bacterial agents, these substances are flavonoids, phenolics, alkaloids, terpenoids, saponins, and tannins. Herein, we aimed to determine the phytochemical content of methanol extract from cocoa bean (Theobroma cacao L.) and its antibacterial activities against Streptococcus mutans and subsequently studied its potential as a mouthwash active ingredient. Macerated methanolic extract of cocoa bean was investigated against clinical isolates of S. mutans. Qualitative phytochemical tests were further performed to observe the presence of flavonoids, phenolics, alkaloids, terpenoids, saponins, and tannins. The results showed that the growth of S. mutans colonies at a concentration of 1, 2, and 3% were 431×104, 142×104, and 59.5×104 CFU/mL, respectively. Addition of the extract at all concentrations (1—3%) did not affect the color, aroma, taste, and clarity of the mouthwash. An acute toxicity test on mice model confirmed that the cocoa bean-based mouthwash was safe.

The population in the study was the entire community in Kandang Village, Darul Imarah District, and Aceh Besar District. Sampling in this study amounted to 68 people using the Slovin formula. Data analysis used univariate and bivariate analysis. The results showed a relationship between public knowledge about fluoride and the prevention of dental caries in the people of Kandang Village, Darul Imarah District, Aceh Besar District, as evidenced by the results of statistical tests with a P value of 0.002 < 0.05. Public knowledge about fluoride was mainly in the low category. This study aimed to determine the relationship between the use of jatropha sap in reducing tooth pain in the community in Cot Gapu Village, Juang City District, Bireuen Regency. This research is analytic with the cross-sectional approach. The population in this study were all people in Cot Gapu Village, Kota Juang District, Bireuen Regency, who suffered from toothache, totaling 82 people with a sample of 46 people. The Random Sampling technique did sampling. The study's results found a relationship between the use of Jatropha gum in reducing tooth pain in the community. Jatropha gum is used to cure dental caries by dripping one or two drops of sap into the tooth cavity. Jatropha sap contains flavonoids that can function as antifungal, antiseptic, and anti-inflammatory, also contains saponins that can stimulate collagen growth in the healing process and also have the effect of relieving pain and stimulating the formation of new cells.

Inspection is the best way to find problems and assess risks before accidents occur. This study aims to determine the implementation of Occupational Safety And Health (K3) Inspection as an Effort to Prevent Work Accidents in Palm Oil Mills in Kampar-Riau Regency in 2021. The study was from August-September, with the subjects being two workers, two factory supervisors, and 1 HES/Safety. Officer of Palm Oil Mill in Kampar-Riau Regency. This research is descriptive with a qualitative case study method by conducting field observations with the help of checklist sheets and in-depth interviews with document searches. The study results found that the company had carried out occupational safety and health (K3) inspections, which were the manager's responsibility. The company has provided facilities and infrastructure such as providing a budget for carrying out occupational safety and health (K3) program activities such as providing complete protective equipment, fire extinguishers, and first aid kits. The company already has a policy regarding Occupational Safety And Health (K3) and company policy towards workers. The OHS management system at the oil palm factory in Kampar Regency has been implemented and refers to government regulation no 50 of 2012. Abstract

Adolescent dental health is an important thing that is often neglected in the family. Family dental nursing care can help resolve family health problems in adolescents. This study aims to determine the effect of e-monitoring tools on changes in the degree of dental and oral health of families in the community in Meunasah Manyet village, Aceh Besar. This research method is quasi-experimental l. The subjects in this study were 60 teenagers, then divided into two groups, the intervention group (monitoring with e-monitoring tools and providing home visit services) consisted of 30 people, and the control group consisted of 30 people who were not given intervention ( only sheet monitoring manual and dental health education). Analysis of the data results (quantitative) in this study used paired sample t-test and independent t-test. The results showed that there was an effect of e-monitoring tools on changes in the degree of family dental and oral health ( Knowledge, Attitudes, and Actions) in the community in Meunasah Manyet Aceh Besar village (p<0.05). The use of e-monitoring tools as a tool/media to change adolescent behavior in a positive direction, of course, still prioritizes persuasive parenting patterns to children.

Abstract

Dengue hemorrhagic fever (DHF) or dengue hemorrhagic fever (DHF) is currently one of the public health problems in Pekanbaru, Riau. The research design is an Unmatched Case Control Study. The case population is all DHF sufferers from 2019-2021, totaling 194 people and the control population is all non-DHF cases in the same period when DHF occurred in 2019-2-2021, totaling 7,624 people. The number of samples is 180 cases and 180 controls. Data were analyzed by univariate, bivariate and multivariate. The results of multivariate analysis, the most influential variables were the habit of hanging clothes (95% CI = 2,970-8,557), the use of repellents during the day (95% CI = 2,272-6,307), knowledge about dengue transmission (95% CI = 2,108-5,892), presence of larvae (CI 95% = 1.716-4.760), sleep during the day (95% CI = 1.699-4.699). The determinant factors related to the incidence of Dengue Hemorrhagic Fever (DHF ) in the Working Area of the Payung Sekaki Health Center are the presence of larvae, daytime sleep habits, hanging clothes habits, daytime use of repellants and knowledge of dengue transmission. While mosquito repellent plants, education, age and gender. It is recommended that the Health Center conduct health education so that people do not hang clothes that have been used, use repellents during the day, do 3M (closing water reservoirs, draining bathtubs, burying), not sleeping during the day and if sleeping during the day need to use tools or mosquito repellent.
