Abstract

Cardiac catheterization is an invasive diagnostic procedure. Cardiac catheterization is an action that can cause anxiety, including worrying about pain related to the procedure, being separated from family and friends and worrying about the results of the catheterization procedure which might be bad. The unclear feeling of Anxiety is fear accompanied by a feeling of uncertainty. The purpose of this study was to determine the factors associated with anxiety in patients undergoing cardiac catheterization. This type of research is descriptive analytic, with total sampling technique and the number of respondents is 40 people. Data analysis used the chi-square test and the Manova test. The results of the study used chi-square found that there was a relationship between anxiety and past experience, education, knowledge, age, and gender, with a p-value <0.005. The Manova test explains that there is a relationship between anxiety and past experience, age and gender with a p-value <0.005. Conversely, there is no relationship between anxiety and education and knowledge with a p-value > 0.005. It is recommended for future researchers to include more samples and add the independent variable family support, because this also affects patient anxiety in undergoing cardiac catheterization.

The objective is to identify the factors determinant associated with the incidence of malaria in young children (aged 0-5 years) in the working area of Twano of Jayapura. This study used a quantitative research with cross-sectional study. It was held in January 2021 with a sample size of 55 participated out of 61 people total samples. The inclusion criteria were mothers who had children aged 0-5 years. We used non-probability sampling technique. Data were obtained through questionnaires arranged according to the Likert Scale. Data were analyzed using SPSS version 25 with Chi-Square statistical test. The results showed three determinant factors associated with the incidence of malaria in children aged 0-5 years in Twano, Jayapura namely mothers' knowledge (p-value of 0.003), attitude (p-value of 0.005), and environment (p-value of 0.000). While the factors that were not associated with the incidence of malaria in children aged 0-5 years were education mothers (p-value of 0.318) and socioeconomic (p-value of 0.369). We found three important issues that influence the occurrence of malaria cases as determining factor in young children in Twano, Jayapura, namely knowledge, attitudes, and the environment. public health field practices based on the 2019 National Guidelines for HIV/AIDS Management.

Abstract

Stunting is a condition in which children have a height below the standard according to age. This is caused by chronic malnutrition during the first 1,000 days of life, from pregnancy to 23 months of age. This research uses a type of qualitative research with a phenomenological approach, which is an approach that examines an object of research naturally or as it is. The results showed that early initiation of breastfeeding and exclusive breastfeeding was not applied to all toddlers. Some stunted toddlers are also not given exclusive breastfeeding, and the experience of informants in feeding children shows that children's appetite is reduced so that portions and frequency of eating are not as recommended. All informants provide complete basic immunization to their children, but only a few routinely weigh toddlers to the Posyandu every month. Regarding parenting, hygiene, and environmental hygiene, only one informant washed his hands using soap and running water before feeding the child.

Abstract

The prevalence of women with menstrual cycle disorders is around 45% based on a statement from the World Health Organization (WHO) in 2012. Several factors affect the menstrual cycle including nutritional consumption, hormonal drugs, smoking, stress, endocrine disorders, and nutritional status. This study aims to determine the relationship between nutritional status and menstrual cycle in medical students of Tarumanagara University. This study was conducted on 161 respondents using a cross-sectional research design. Data was collected by distributing questionnaires through Google Forms and then tested using the chi-square test method. The results showed no significant relationship between undernutrition status and menstrual cycle with a p-value of 0.219. The results of this study found a non-meaningful relationship between over-nutrition status and menstrual cycle with a p-value of 0.427. In this study, it was found that there was no significant relationship between nutritional status either less or more with the menstrual cycle in female students of the Faculty of Medicine, Tarumanagara University.

Foods that are often consumed by students are industrial snacks which contain more carbohydrates so that they can cause other nutritional deficiencies. Wrong eating habits in adolescence will have an impact on nutritional status. Malnutrition can reduce the body's resistance to disease, increase the incidence of disease (morbidity), reduce the level of intelligence and productivity. Meanwhile, nutrition is more associated with degenerative diseases at a younger age and the tendency for adolescents to experience obesity (Emilia et al., 2021). The purpose of this research is to know the effect of knowledge and attitudes on consumption of industrial snacks on the nutritional status of students of the University Of Muhammadiyah Bima Nutrition Study Program. This research was conducted at University Of Muhammadiyah Bima from November 12 to November 30, 2022. This type of research is a cross-sectional study. The population in this study were all students of the first semester of the nutrition study program with the sample selection using the accidental sampling method, namely 71 people. Data on nutritional status were taken by measuring student height and weight, and knowledge and attitudes towards snack consumption were measured using a questionnaire. Then the data were analyzed using the SPSS application using the Chi-Square test. The research results showed that there was a relationship between knowledge (P = 0.016) and attitude (0.006) consumption of industrial snacks on the nutritional status of University Of Muhammadiyah Bima nutrition study program students. This researcher hope that this study can increase the readers’ awarness and knowledge about the consumption of industrial snacks in order to avoid various diseases related to snack consumption, such as obesity.

Abstract

Choking is an emergency condition that can occur at any age, especially in children and infants. This condition can make a person experience a blockage in the respiratory tract so that immediate help is needed because it can make the body experience hypoxia which can lead to death. One of the basic life support measures in first aid for choking patients in children and infants is the backblow method. The sooner victims are found and help is carried out, the survival will increase so that they avoid disability or death. The purpose of this study was to determine the effect of giving backblow education using the demonstration method on mothers' knowledge in first aid for choking children. The research method uses a quantitative method with a quasi-experimental research design - nonequivalent without control group design involving 34 respondents with consecutive sampling. Data were analyzed using SPSS with paired t test or t dependent. The results showed that the average knowledge score before the intervention was 12.68 with a standard deviation of 2.212 while the knowledge score after the intervention was 17.00 with a standard deviation of 1.891. The conclusion is that there is an effect of backblow education with the demonstration method on mother's knowledge in first aid for choking children.

Abstract

Packaged juice are usually made using only one type of fruit or can be made using two types of fruits or other additional ingredients. Antioxidants are chemical compounds that can be used to protect biological components such as lipids, proteins, vitamins, and DNA. This study aims to determine the level of antioxidant activity in packaged juice drink variants of guava fruit using the FRAP (Ferric Reducing Antioxidant Power) method. The method used in this study is the FRAP method to test antioxidant activity. The results of testing the antioxidant activity with the FRAP (Ferric Reducing Antioxidant Power) method on the packaged juice drink samples, the level of antioxidant activity in juice drink sample A was 88,359 mgAAE/g sample, sample B was 88,202 mgAAE/g sample, sample C was 83,098 mgAAE/g sample, and sample D was 77,317 mgAAE/g sample. This shows that sample A demonstrated the highest antioxidant activity, followed closely by sample B, while samples C and D exhibited lower levels of antioxidant activity.

Cross-sectional research methods were used for the study. The research sample was 98 women of reproductive age with a purposive sampling technique. The research tool was a questionnaire. The Chi-square test was used to analyze the research data. The results showed an association between knowledge and the examination IVA test (ρ-value= 0,001), husband support and the examination IVA test (ρ-value=0,000), health worker support and the examination IVA test (ρ-value=0,000), and distance to health services with the examination IVA test (ρ-value=0,000). Knowledge, husband support, health worker support, and the distance to health services and the examination IVA test are all elements that associated the in fertile women.
