Abstract

Academic burnout is when students experience emotional exhaustion, cynicism, and reduced academic efficacy due to burnout and stress experienced for a long period. One of the factors that cause academic burnout is the monotonous learning method, so students are getting bored and not eager to take part in learning. Thus, an effort that can be made to overcome academic burnout is to provide classical guidance with interactive and fun methods such as involving the scavenger hunt game. This study aimed to apply the scavenger hunt game technique in classical guidance to overcome academic burnout. The subjects of this study were students of class 8th at SMP Kolese Kanisius, totaling 162 students. This study is a pre-experimental study with a one-group pretest-posttest design. This study's data collection techniques were MBI-SS, observation, interviews, and questionnaires. Based on the Wilcoxon test analysis results using SPSS, the Asymp. (2-tailed) value is 0.000. The Asymp value. (0.000) is smaller than the α value (0.05). These results indicate a significant difference between before and after being given classical guidance with the scavenger hunt game technique. So, it can be concluded that the scavenger hunt game technique through classical guidance can overcome academic burnout.

The instrument is Problematic Smartphone Use Scale (PSUS) (Kwon et al., 2013). Self management Counseling is conducted in 7 sessions for each counselee in the form of individual counseling. The results showed the average T1 value of 56,17 (SD = 3,37) which then arrived at the T4 measurement obtained with an average of 42,50 (SD = 32,27). As in general, the self management counseling is effective in reducing students' problematic smartphone use. Abstract

Counterterrorism approach in Indonesia emphasizes on prevention rather than prosecution. Radicalism could lead to the acts of terrorism; hence, in terms of terrorism prevention, the role of civil society is significant in avoiding radicalization of people. Here lies the urgency of community empowerment. As an instrument to examine people’s readiness in preventing terrorism is unclear, this study was held. The study intends to formulate an instrument for measuring counterradicalism readiness (called ‘CoRS’). It aimed to evaluate people’s readiness to be involved in counterradicalism and CVE (Counter Violent Extremism) programs. The development of CoRS was organized into detailed steps: 1) defining counterradicalism readiness and its aspects, 2) identifying behaviour indicators of counterradicalism readiness, 3) making items for scale, 4) performing items’ readability test, 5) conducting pilot study, and 6) holding statistical analysis. Quantitative method was applied in this study by involving 19 security practitioners to assess CoRS’ content-related validity and 227 participants for the instrument’s reliability (with Alpha Cronbach and Omega McDonnald). The findings demonstrate the efficacy of CoRS’ items in measuring counterradicalism readiness. Furtmermore, CoRS reaches satisfactory reliability α=0.92 and ω=0.93. The study may assist practitioners in identifying people’s readiness and willingness to participate in counterradicalism programs.
