Abstract

This study aims to describe the implementation of the Al-Jawarih method  in instilling the religious character of children aged 5–6 years in Madrasah Raudhatul Athfal Alam Ya Bunayya Bungo. The Al-Jawarih method  is a learning approach that emphasizes understanding the Qur'an not only as reading, but as a guide to life that is practiced through the involvement of all limbs (jawarih). This study uses a descriptive qualitative approach. Data collection techniques are carried out through observation, interviews, and field notes. The results of the study show that the implementation of the Al-Jawarih method  is carried out through four main components, namely habituation of routine activities, habituation of spontaneous activities, programmatic activities, and teacher examples. The process of instilling religious values takes place through the stages of knowing, feeling, understanding, and gratitude, which is then manifested in daily behavior. Learning activities are associated with children's direct experiences, such as outing activities (tadabur alam), MABIT (night of faith and piety) and green labs, so that children are able to connect verses of the Qur'an with the reality of life. The findings of the study show that there is a change in children's behavior that is more polite, honest, and caring, an increase in religious habits such as praying, saying greetings, and reading the Qur'an, as well as developing independence in carrying out simple worship. In addition, the role of teachers as role models and support for the school and family environment is an important factor in the success of cultivating religious character. Thus, the Al-Jawarih method  has proven effective in instilling the religious character of early childhood holistically through the integration of learning, habituation, and hands-on experience.

Abstract

Innovative learning in the 21st century requires teachers to be able to integrate critical thinking skills, creativity, collaboration, communication, and the use of technology into the learning process. This study aims to describe the application of 21st century innovative learning in SD Negeri 42 Pekanbaru, including the strategies used by teachers, obstacles faced, and learning optimization efforts. The research uses a descriptive qualitative method with data collection techniques through observation, interviews, and documentation, as well as validation using triangulation. The results show that teachers have understood the 4C principles and tried to apply them through active learning models such as Problem Based Learning (PBL) and simple projects. However, implementation is still limited by the constraints of technology facilities, teachers' ICT skills, and the limitations of operational indicators in the lesson plan and assessment rubric. Nevertheless, authentic assessments in the form of projects and portfolios began to be implemented and received a positive response from students. This research emphasizes the importance of teacher training support, strengthening ICT facilities, and consistency in the application of assessment rubrics so that innovative learning in the 21st century can run optimally in elementary schools.

Abstract

This study aims to analyze the role of Pancasila ethics in addressing political pragmatism within Indonesia’s party system and to formulate transformation strategies that can foster a party system characterized by integrity. In Indonesia’s political system, political pragmatism often leads to the neglect of Pancasila values, resulting in political practices lacking integrity, such as transactional politics and corruption. This study employs a qualitative approach with literature analysis to explore the relationship between Pancasila values and the pragmatic political practices occurring in Indonesia. The research findings indicate that to address political pragmatism, political parties in Indonesia need to implement transformation strategies that include character education for party leaders, the application of transparency and accountability in party management, the empowerment of internal democracy, and the strengthening of integrity in the electoral process. This study concludes that the consistent application of Pancasila values in the policies and practices of political parties can foster a party system that is more integrity-driven and accountable to the people.

Abstract

The low level of digital technology adoption by local governments to support public services and performance prompted this study. This study employs the Technology Acceptance Model (TAM) to evaluate how information literacy and digital literacy influence civil servants’ behavioral intentions regarding the use of digital technology in the workplace. A probability sample of 258 civil servants was surveyed for the quantitative investigation. PLS-SEM was used to analyze the data. The results indicate that information literacy and digital literacy have a significant positive effect on perceived ease of use, whereas only information literacy has a direct and significant effect on perceived usefulness. Furthermore, perceived ease of use strongly influences perceived usefulness and enhances civil servants’ behavioral intentions to adopt digital technology. This study concludes that civil servants’ information literacy and digital literacy play a crucial role in driving the adoption of digital technology within the government workplace. Strengthening information literacy and digital literacy integrated with user-friendly technology system design is essential to foster sustainable technology use and improve public service performance.

Abstract

This study aims to analyze the contribution of Pegadaian Ultra Micro (UMi) Financing to micro-enterprise development in Sedanau Village from the perspective of Islamic Economics. This research employs a qualitative approach with a field research design. Data were collected through observation, semi-structured interviews, and documentation involving one Pegadaian Unit Sedanau employee and four micro-enterprise customers, selected through purposive sampling. Data analysis followed the interactive model of condensation, display, and conclusion drawing, with validity ensured through source and technique triangulation. Findings show that UMi Financing contributed to micro-enterprise development across five dimensions: strengthening working capital, sustaining operational continuity, expanding product variety, maintaining business survival, and supporting household welfare. However, its contribution remains suboptimal due to the mixing of business and household finances, unstable income, and weak financial record-keeping. Assessed through Islamic Economics, the financing partially reflects the principles of justice, amanah, transparency, ta'awun, and maslahah, but requires institutional reinforcement through business mentoring and Islamic financial literacy development. Addressing these gaps will strengthen the financing program's alignment with SDG 1, SDG 8, and SDG 10 by reducing financial vulnerability, fostering productive economic activity, and narrowing structural inequality in access to finance among island-based micro-enterprise communities.

Abstract

Scientific literacy is a fundamental skill that must be developed from elementary school level so that students are able to understand and solve problems based on scientific evidence. This study aims to describe the profile of scientific literacy, identify factors causing low achievement, and formulate recommendations. Using a qualitative case study approach at Kalibawang Public Elementary School, data were collected through questionnaires, observations, and interviews with 30 fifth-grade students and one teacher selected by purposive sampling, and analyzed using the interactive model of Miles, Huberman, and Saldaña. The results show that the profile of students' scientific literacy is in the sufficient category (average 3.16) with gaps between aspects: scientific responsibility competency is the highest (3.29), while science career information (2.85) and environmental responsibility (2.86) are the lowest. Low scientific literacy is caused by three interlocking factors: teachers' limitations in developing textbook-based assessment instruments, the lack of interactive media, and the scarcity of project-based learning due to the dominance of the transmissive pattern. The implication is that teacher training is needed to develop contextual digital instruments and media, allocate time for integrated STEM projects, school policies that support innovative models, and the development of mission-based educational games to improve scientific literacy sustainably.

Abstract

This research is motivated by the importance of developing effective and efficient learning models in shaping students’ character based on Islamic values. The education of akhlakul karimah (noble character) is a fundamental aspect of the educational process; therefore, learning strategies that actively and meaningfully engage students are highly needed. The purpose of this study is to analyze the strategy of teaching akhlakul karimah through the implementation of the Discovery Learning method at MTsN 5 Bantul. This study employs a qualitative approach with data collection techniques including interviews, observations, and documentation to obtain comprehensive and in-depth data. The findings reveal that the implementation of the Discovery Learning method in teaching akhlakul karimah is effective in improving students’ understanding of noble moral values. Through learning stages such as exploration, observation, discussion, and reflection, students are encouraged to think critically, actively, and independently in discovering and understanding moral concepts. In addition, this method creates an interactive and conducive learning environment and strengthens positive relationships between teachers and students. Therefore, the learning of akhlakul karimah becomes more meaningful and contributes optimally to students’ character development.

Abstract

Indonesia ranks as the world's second-largest capture fisheries producer, yet approximately 90% of its fishers remain classified as small-scale operators with average incomes below the regional minimum wage across most coastal areas. This study aims to analyze capture fisheries distribution management limitations at the fisher level and examine their impact on small-scale fisher income welfare, evaluated through an Islamic economic perspective. A qualitative descriptive-analytical approach was employed, with data collected through in-depth interviews, participatory observation, and document analysis, validated through source triangulation. Findings reveal that distribution management is structurally constrained by intermediary dependency, cold chain infrastructure deficits, informational asymmetry, and debt-binding capital arrangements that collectively suppress fisher income at the point of first sale. Evaluated against Islamic economic principles of adl, tawazun, ta'awun, and kifayah, the existing distribution architecture constitutes a normatively unjust system in which productive value is disproportionately captured by downstream chain actors. These structural failures directly obstruct the achievement of SDG 1, SDG 8, SDG 10, and SDG 14. Institutional reform through cooperative strengthening, infrastructure investment, transparent price mechanisms, and sharia-compliant microfinance is prescribed as the foundational corrective toward a just and sustainable fisheries distribution system.

Abstract

This study aims to analyze student participation in karawitan extracurricular activities as an effort to develop the citizenship dimension in elementary schools. The study uses a descriptive qualitative approach with a single case study design at SD Negeri Singodutan, Wonogiri, involving 20 fifth-grade students participating in the 'Singo Laras' karawitan extracurricular program. Data were collected through participatory observation, in-depth interviews, and documentation, and then analyzed using Miles and Huberman's interactive model with triangulation techniques to ensure data validity. The results of the study indicate that student participation is formed through active involvement in the structured stages of activities (preparation, implementation, and closing), repeated practice, as well as collaborative interaction among students and guidance from instructors. This participation contributes to the development of citizenship dimensions, which include the values of mutual cooperation, responsibility, discipline, tolerance, and social roles. These findings confirm that extracurricular activities based on local culture, particularly karawitan, function as an effective contextual learning medium for internalizing civic values through authentic social experiences. This study implies that the integration of experiential and local culture-based learning can strengthen the implementation of civic education and support the reinforcement of the Pancasila Student Profile.
