Abstract

This study delves into the intricate relationship between teacher professionalism, adherence to the code of conduct, commitment, and their overall performance in both classroom settings and extracurricular activities. The findings reveal a clear and significant correlation between high levels of professionalism and strict adherence to the code of conduct with exceptional performance in various teaching duties. This suggests that teachers who uphold these standards are more likely to excel in their roles. Interestingly, the study uncovers an unexpected result: there is no significant relationship between teacher commitment and their performance outcomes. This discrepancy challenges conventional expectations, indicating that commitment alone may not directly influence performance levels. Despite this, the research underscores the profound impact that teachers' attitudes—whether positive or negative—have on their overall effectiveness and performance. A noteworthy observation from the study is the positive attitude of a substantial number of participants towards the teacher code of conduct. This positive disposition towards the code is likely to contribute to enhancing performance and upholding professional standards. Overall, the study highlights the crucial role of professionalism and adherence to conduct in achieving high performance, while also recognizing the need for a broader understanding of how commitment and attitude interplay in educational settings.

Abstract

Analysis of International Expert Migration: A Case Study of Brain Drain in the Philippines in 2015-2023 Abstract: The Philippines has actively sent workers around the world since the 1970s, particularly highly skilled workers. The Philippines' high level of skilled migration has been driven by a culture in which people assume that working abroad will improve their standard of living. However, this trend ended up resulting in internal difficulties, including the rise of the brain drain phenomenon. Brain drain is caused by both pull and push causes. These elements can be examined further in relation to the place of origin, destination region, intervening obstacles, and personal factors. The purpose of this study is to examine the phenomenon of international highly skilled migration and the impact of brain drain in the Philippines between 2015 and 2023 utilizing push-pull factors. The author employs a qualitative descriptive approach to describe the phenomena that occur. Interviews and literature reviews were employed as data-gathering strategies. The findings of this study demonstrate the significant correlation between international migration in the Philippines and the brain drain issue, which has consequences for key areas such as the Philippine economy, politics, and sociocultural. Keywords: Brain Drain, International Highly Skilled Migration, Migration.

Abstract

In the digital age, cultural identities are transforming due to the growing influence of globalization. This study explores how local communities in the United Kingdom navigate their cultural identities amidst the pervasive reach of digital platforms and global cultural narratives. The objective is to analyze the adaptive strategies employed to balance the preservation of local traditions with the adoption of global influences. Using a qualitative approach, data were collected through semi-structured interviews and thematic analysis conducted with representatives from diverse cultural communities in the UK. The findings reveal that digital platforms serve as both a challenge and an opportunity. On the one hand, they expose local cultures to homogenizing global trends, particularly affecting younger generations. On the other hand, these platforms act as powerful tools for sharing and preserving local traditions, enabling communities to reassert their cultural distinctiveness on a global stage. Discussions emphasize the critical role of digital literacy and proactive cultural policies in fostering a balanced coexistence between local and global influences. Future research could examine the intersection of cultural identity and economic factors, focusing on how creative industries in the UK leverage cultural heritage for innovation. Additionally, longitudinal studies could explore generational shifts in cultural values and practices in the digital age.

Abstract

Hikikomori is a term used to describe individuals who experience severe social withdrawal, has become an increasingly prominent social issue in Japan. This phenomenon, once considered an isolated occurrence, now affects a growing number of individuals, particularly among young people, with profound social, psychological, and economic consequences. This study aims to investigate the underlying causes of hikikomori, its psychological and societal impacts, and the effectiveness of current interventions. A mixed-methods approach was employed, combining qualitative case studies and quantitative surveys to examine the factors contributing to social isolation, including societal pressures, family dynamics, and the role of technology. The findings reveal that academic stress, unemployment, and changing family structures are significant contributors to hikikomori. Furthermore, the study highlights the psychological toll on affected individuals, including depression, anxiety, and low self-esteem, as well as the strain on family members and social systems. While current interventions, such as counseling services and government programs, show some promise, they are often insufficient in addressing the root causes of the issue. This study concludes that hikikomori is not only a personal issue but a societal challenge that requires comprehensive, multi-faceted interventions. Future research should focus on exploring more effective support systems, the role of technology in exacerbating isolation, and the long-term impact of hikikomori on Japan's workforce and economy.

Abstract

Integrating Artificial Intelligence (AI) in talent management is reshaping the workforce landscape, especially for global companies in the United States. This study investigates how AI is transforming talent management processes, including recruitment, employee development, and performance management while exploring its implications for organizational efficiency, decision-making, and employee engagement. The research aims to understand the benefits and challenges of adopting AI tools in these processes, particularly in the context of U.S.-based multinational companies. A mixed-methods approach was used to gather data through surveys and interviews with HR professionals, business leaders, and employees in global companies. The study found that AI technologies have enhanced recruitment efficiency, improved employee skill alignment, and contributed to a more personalized employee experience. However, challenges such as resistance to change, ethical concerns regarding data privacy, and the need for employee training were noted. These findings suggest that while AI integration offers significant advantages, it requires careful implementation and ongoing adaptation. Future research should focus on long-term impacts, such as AI's influence on workforce diversity, job displacement, and its role in organizational culture. Further studies could explore the scalability of AI in talent management across different industries and its potential for enhancing global workforce collaboration.

Abstract

Education is a cornerstone of Uganda's national development, with science education prioritized in Vision 2040 to foster technological innovation, industrialization, and global competitiveness. However, disparities in resource allocation, inadequate teacher training, and weak administrative practices have hindered science education, particularly in rural schools. This study examines the role of school administration in shaping the academic achievement of science students in Uganda. Using a mixed-methods approach, data were collected from 15 schools, including urban areas like Kampala and rural districts such as Gulu and Mbale. The study involved 200 school administrators, 300 teachers, and 500 students, combining surveys and in-depth interviews to explore administrative practices, resource distribution, and teacher support. Findings reveal that effective school leadership significantly enhances science education outcomes, with urban schools outperforming rural ones due to better infrastructure, qualified teachers, and proactive administration. In contrast, rural schools face challenges including resource shortages, overcrowded classrooms, and weak leadership. The study underscores the need for targeted interventions to strengthen administrative capacities, reduce urban-rural disparities, and improve science education outcomes. It recommends equitable resource allocation, professional development for teachers, and evidence-based leadership practices. Future research should explore the long-term impact of administrative reforms through longitudinal studies and investigate the role of community and stakeholder involvement in supporting school administration.

The research targeted 2 head teachers, 10 teachers, 36 students, and 7 parents, totaling 55 participants. The sample size of 80 respondents was determined using the solvens formula, comprising 4 head teachers, 24 teachers, 30 students, and 22 parents. Descriptive statistics were employed to analyze the data, with results presented through frequency counts and percentages. According to the study's findings, respondents noted that students received educational materials for home use, signifying that learning persisted through the home packages disseminated by schools during the COVID-19 period. The study ultimately concluded that delegating classroom operations and curriculum decisions to the community is a strategy to enhance the education system, improve teacher standards, and promote a school community for all students. Based on the findings, it was advised that adjustments be made at all education levels to adopt new strategies ensuring a continuous education process that is accessible, affordable, and flexible. Steps should be taken to prevent and address any disruptions in the education system, guaranteeing an uninterrupted flow of education
