Abstract

The tropical architectural design approach is one of the concepts that can be applied to buildings that are oriented toward low climate conditions. The tropical climate is characterized by temperature (heat), humidity, and high rainfall. The location of this research is in the western part of Lake Mawang, Jalan Poros Macanda Biring Balang, Mawang Village, Somba Opu District, Gowa Regency, South Sulawesi Province. The purpose of the research is to design a floating library building that can be a place for education, recreation, as well as tourism by taking into account the climate and site conditions using a tropical design. The research method used is direct observation and then analyzes the potential of the site, building, and space, as well as the utilities used. The design results obtained a floating library with an area of ​​5000 m2, building 4951 m2 which is divided into public, semi-public, and private zones. the characteristics of the building using the shape of the roof made sloping 300, the position of the building extends from east to west, the window opening has 2 x 1.8 m2 for, the use of aluminum material, ribbed glass on the facade of the building, porcelain ceramics on the floor of the building, the use of bright colors namely red, blue, green, green with palm vegetation, squirrel tails, cypress, lotus, teh-tehan, the amount of space required is 4951 m2, the site conditions are supported by educational and transportation facilities, the shape of the building is analogous to the philosophical approach of a ship, the site plan consists of the main building, RTH, and RTB. The conclusion of this study shows the characteristics of the floating library building design using a tropical design approach from the shape of the roof, building position, openings, materials, vegetation, space requirements, site analysis, building form, and site plan layout. The implication of this building is expected to be able to support the needs and expectations of users according to the local climate.

Abstract

In the current era of globalization, the development of the times is very fast and fast, making a big influence on the world of education, including in the aspect of human needs. Based on the analysis, Selayar Islands Regency is a regency located in South Sulawesi Province, which has an area of ​​10,503.69 km² between land and sea areas with a population of 135,809 people. Geographically, Selayar is located at the tip of Sulawesi Island from the north and south, and is one of the 24 regencies or cities in the South-Sulawesi Province. The method used in this design is an Islamic architectural approach with the intention of giving awareness to the public that the importance of applying Islamic concepts in building and planning must certainly be far from being wasteful because it is contrary to Islamic values. The results of this design cover an area of ​​± 2.5 Ha, Building Basic Coefficient (KDB) 40%, Green Open Space (RTH) 60%. The building area is 5,500 m² classrooms, 190 m² practice rooms, 660 m² leadership and administration rooms, 1,760 m² support rooms and 2,200 m² parking, which will be presented in the form of two-dimensional drawings, site analysis, analysis of shapes to three dimensions and animation through shape exploration. The building is the Kaaba with its basic shape is a cube. This study concludes that the Integrated Islamic School with an Islamic architectural approach is equipped with Islamic icon designs on each building as its own attraction.

Abstract

Pottery is a work of art made with clay as raw material and then dried and burned. Pottery works are thought to have existed since pre-historic times, precisely when humans began to live sedentary lives and cultivate crops. Archaeology in Indonesia has found many pottery works that functioned as home utensils or religious purposes used for ceremonies and burials. Over time, craftsmen began to develop new and more modern designs and creations. Community empowerment is part of a social welfare strategy developed through Micro, Small, and Medium Enterprises (MSMEs) that improve people's living standards. The market interest in pottery products is shown by the potential that is utilized and developed in Negara Ratu Village, Sidoharjo Hamlet, South Lampung. Where in the area there are various kinds of pottery workshops or industrial houses that produce pottery products and trade them. Through this research, which uses analytical methods and direct surveys of building samples, it will be seen the architectural behavior and spatial patterns applied to each production house. So that the results of this study are a direction and conclusion on facilities and good spatial patterns that can be used based on architectural behavior patterns formed in buildings according to each user

Abstract

The result of Baseline Health Research through The Ministry of Health of the Republic of Indonesia showed that the number of down syndrome patients increased by 0,13% or approximately 300.000 cases in Indonesia. The Percentage of down syndrome cases was the second highest after physical disability cases, which always kept increasing. Down syndrome patients need an environment that is qualified to encourage society. This case has been an issue for the government to build a rehabilitation center in particular for the down syndrome patient in Indonesia, considering until this time, there are still no integrated rehabilitation centers that are qualified to provide not only academic activities but also medical therapies for the down syndrome patients. This study aimed to identify the condition of the physical elements that support learning methods for people with Down syndrome and to formulate the design criteria needed in a Down syndrome rehabilitation center. By using the behavior setting architecture approach expectantly able to provide the solution or criteria of the design for The Down Syndrome Rehabilitation Centre which is proper with the needs of down syndrome patients during their daily activities.

Abstract

This research is about the direction of the development pattern of the Sinjai Urban Area. The main problem is how to control development in the Sinjai Urban Area. This problem is seen by the conditions of development that occur in the Sinjai Urban Area. Thus, this study uses descriptive analysis by looking at the land use system that is currently developing and identifying the area development system in terms of development control, namely data analysis that aims to describe the state of the observation area or according to the data obtained in the form of decomposition and analysis is carried out. to consider the existing physical conditions at the research location in order to minimize development in the Sinjai Urban Area

Abstract

Indonesia is an archipelago with a remarkable potential for marine wealth. However, the magnitude of this potential is not well-balanced with the provision of good facilities and infratructure so as to improve the quality of fisheries in Indonesia, especially in Bandar Lampung. One way to improve the quality of fishery product is to provide the facilities and infrastructures of fisheries products in the form of a hygienic fish market (PIH) in accordance with the health requirements hygiene of food and environmental sanitation requirements which in Lampung, there is no hygienic fish market (PIH). The approach that can be used and applied is the activity scheme approach. The activity schemes studied in this research are the activities of main user, fisherman, traders and consumers. This approach of activity patters is considered to be able to provide an effective space layout in accordance with health requirements, hygiene of food and environmental sanitation requirements because it contains theories of relation between humans and the environment.

Abstract

Balai RW merupakan salah satu fasilitas umum yang perlu dimiliki warga dilingkup permukiman perkotaan. Fungsinya sebagai wadah sosial masyarakat untuk berkumpul dan melakukan kegiatan sosial budaya seperti berolahraga, pelatihan, layanan kesehatan seperti posyandu, kesenian dan juga kegiatan keagamaan. Tujuan dari artikel ini adalah untuk melakukan kajian analisis pendekatan aspek arsitektur berkelanjutan untuk diterapkan pada konsep desain Balai RW 7 Kelurahan Merjosari. Metode pembahasan yang digunakan adalah metode kualitatif analisis deskriptif yang dilengkapi dengan gambar-gambar proses analisis dan konsep rancangan. Pembahasan kajian ini merupakan tahapan general study pada proses desain yaitu proses identifikasi dan analisis untuk mencari sebuah usulan konsep rancangan. Hasilnya ditemukan bahwa pendekatan berkelanjutan yang dapat diterapkan pada perancangan arsitektur meliputi aspek sosial, ekonomi dan lingkungan. Ketiganya saling terkait satu sama lain untuk memberikan dampak peningkatan kualitas pada building performance, lingkungan tapak, dan juga manusianya. Masing-masing aspek memiliki variabel yang dijadikan sebagai bahan pertimbangan dalam menentukan konsep desain Balai RW 7 Kelurahan Merjosari Kota Malang.

Abstract

Infiltration is a very important component because the problem of soil conservation is the regulation of the relationship between rainfall intensity and infiltration capacity, as well as the regulation of surface runoff. Surface runoff can only be regulated by increasing the ability of the soil to store water, mainly by improving or increasing infiltration capacity. Infiltration capacity is the maximum rate of water that can enter the soil at one time. Infiltration is one of the phases of the hydrological cycle, it is important to know because it will affect runoff, flooding, erosion, availability of water for plants, groundwater, and availability of river flow in the dry season. So this study analyzed how infiltration affects the slope and compared using Horton's formula. In this study, data collection methods were carried out in the laboratory and then processed using the Horton method and the results were compared. From the research, it was found that a large infiltration rate with a small slope besides that, with direct observation the infiltration rate is greater than the Horton method.

Abstract

Transportation has a very important role in supporting community activities. One mode of transportation that plays a very important role in supporting community activities is public transportation which functions to transport people from one place to another. In terms of public transport services, it often becomes a problem in the transportation system. Public transport in this case has a service role and function so that it is necessary to conduct a study to see the performance of public transport. In order to complete the analysis of the performance of public transport, a survey of load factor, headway, arrival frequency of public transport, travel time, and availability of public transport fleets is carried out. Analysis was carried out on several variables such as load factor, headway, frequency of public transport arrivals, travel time, and availability of public transport fleets based on applicable standards. This study aims to determine the performance of public transportation in the city of Palu on service to the community as transportation users.
