As-Sabiqun Journal is an interdisciplinary publication of original research and articles on Islamic Studies and Educational Sciences. This journal was published by Pendidikan Islam Anak Usia Dini (PIAUD) STIT Palapa Nusantara Lombok - NTB which was published twice in a year (biannualy), March and October with a minimum of 5 articles. The journal aims to provide a forum for scholarly understanding of the field of education and plays an important role in promoting the process that accumulated knowledge, values, and skills. Scientific manuscript dealing with Islamic Studies and Educational Sciences topics are particularly welcome to be submitted. The journal encompasses research articles, original research report, and scientific reviews in education in any fields including: 1. Early Childhood Education Theory; 2. Early Childhood Education Learning Practice; 3. Early Childhood Development includes Religious and Moral, Cognitive, Language, Social-Emotional, Physical-Motoric, and Art Values; 4. PAUD Policy; 5. Parenting; 6. Teacher Education and Training; 7. Learning Strategy. Editorial Team invites academics, lecturers and researchers to contribute according to the scope above. Articles can be submitted online, by registering as a author (Online Submissions). Every article that goes to the editorial staff will be selected through Peer Review Processes. This journal is an open access journal which means that all freely available content is used. Character education from an early age is an important foundation in shaping children's attitudes and Character education from an early age is an important foundation in shaping children's attitudes and behaviors, which will affect their future development. Through extracurricular activities, children can hone their potential, talents and interests while building an independent and happy attitude that has a positive impact on themselves, their families and society. One extracurricular activity that is effective in character education is Hizbul Wathan Scouting. The purpose of this study was to investigate how Hizbul Wathan Scouting activities affect the character development of five- to six-year-old children attending 'Aisyiyah Bustanul Athfal I Kindergarten in Probolinggo City. Thirty children were divided into two groups for this study, namely the experimental group and the control group, using an experimental approach using a pre-test post-test design on the control group. For eight weeks, from September to October 2024, the experimental group participated in Hizbul Wathan activities. The character assessment used a rubric that included aspects of independence, discipline, honesty, cooperation, and respect. A significant value (2-tailed) of 0.00 < 0.05 was found in the results of data analysis using the t-test and Kolmogorov-Smirnov test, indicating that Hizbul Wathan activities have a beneficial impact on early childhood character education.

The purpose of this study was to investigate how digital literacy influences students' motivation and Fiqh academic achievement at MA Badrul Islam Gulung. A quantitative descriptive correlational approach was employed, with a sample of 23 purposively selected twelfth-grade students. Data were collected using questionnaires to assess digital literacy and motivation, semester exam scores for academic achievement, and observations on the use of technology in learning. The data were analyzed using descriptive statistics, Pearson correlation, and simple linear regression. The results revealed a significant positive correlation between digital literacy and both learning motivation (r = 0.652, p < 0.05) and academic achievement in Fiqh (r = 0.718, p < 0.05). Digital literacy accounted for 42.5% of the variance in learning motivation and 51.5% of the variance in academic achievement. These findings suggest that students with higher levels of digital literacy are more motivated and perform better academically, particularly in Fiqh. The study concludes that digital literacy plays a critical role in enhancing students' motivation and academic success. It emphasizes the need for integrating digital literacy into the educational curriculum, particularly in Islamic education, to foster better learning outcomes and equip students with the necessary skills for success in a technology-driven world. This highlights the importance of digital literacy as an essential component of modern educational practices.

Mathematical literacy is very important in the industrial era 4.0, but international surveys such as PISA show that Indonesian students have poor mathematical abilities. Therefore, new teaching materials are needed. Developing a TPACK-based e-module to promote mathematical literacy is the goal of this study. A 4D development model—define, design, develop, and disseminate—is used in the study. Analyzing learning demands is part of stage define, and designing technology-based e-modules is part of stage design. Following validation by specialists in language, media, and materials, the develop stage produces an e-module that is prepared for testing through adjustments based on validator suggestions. The disseminate stage involves limited testing and distribution to students. Researchers used descriptive analysis techniques in processing the data obtained. The validation results show that the e-module is very valid with a score of 95% for language, 92% for media, and 100% for material. Teacher responses were in the " Highly good" category (95%), while student responses were in the "good" category (73%). This research proves that TPACK-based e-modules are effective in supporting learning, providing solutions to improve students' mathematical literacy, and are relevant for application in technology-based learning.

Speaking ability is a key element of language skills in elementary school education that contributes to students' academic and social development. However, this skill often receives less attention in the learning process. This study aims to examine the effect of the retelling method on improving the speaking skills of Phase C elementary school students. The research employed a quantitative approach with a pre-experimental one-group pretest-posttest design. The sample consisted of 10 randomly selected fifth-grade students. The research instrument was a speaking skills rubric measuring five main aspects: fluency, diction, sentence structure, comprehension, and communicative aspects. Data were analyzed using a paired t-test to evaluate significant differences between the pretest and posttest results. The findings showed that the retelling method had a significant impact on improving students' speaking skills. The average pretest score of 57.50 increased to 76.50 in the posttest, with a significant difference (p < 0.001). This method not only enhanced students' speaking abilities but also reduced their anxiety in public speaking. The study concluded that the retelling method effectively improved the speaking skills of Phase C elementary school students and is therefore recommended for integration into learning. Additionally, this research opens opportunities to develop the implementation of the retelling method by utilizing digital technology for more optimal results.

Writing poetry is often considered challenging for elementary school students due to a lack of imagination, mastery of diction, and limited use of relevant teaching media. This study aims to examine the effectiveness of using visual media in improving the poetry writing skills of elementary school students. The study employed a quantitative approach with a pre-experimental "one group pretest-posttest" design involving a sample of 9 fifth-grade students from SDN Baros Mandiri 5, selected randomly. Data were collected through pretests and posttests using a poetry writing assessment rubric that included five aspects: diction, figurative language, rhyme, theme coherence, and typography. Data analysis was conducted using a paired t-test. The results showed an increase in the average posttest score (61.7) compared to the pretest score (50.9), with a difference of 10.8 points. The paired t-test yielded a value of t=−5.21 and p<0.001, indicating that the use of visual media was effective in enhancing poetry writing skills. Visual media proved to motivate students, stimulate their imagination, and assist them in creatively expressing their ideas in poetry. However, this study was limited by the small sample size and the absence of a control group, suggesting the need for further research with a more comprehensive design to strengthen the findings.

This study examined the effect of podcast-based learning media on students’ speaking skills in Islamic Cultural History (SKI) at MTs Raudhatul Jannah NW Bengkang, Indonesia. It aimed to evaluate the impact on speaking performance, analyze students' perceptions of podcasts as a learning tool, and assess their influence on engagement and motivation. A pre-experimental one-group pre-test and post-test design was used, involving 28 Class VII students as the sample. Data were collected through pre-tests, post-tests, and a Likert-scale questionnaire. Speaking skills were assessed based on pronunciation, fluency, vocabulary usage, and content relevance, while questionnaire responses measured engagement, ease of use, and perceived effectiveness. The findings revealed a significant improvement in students’ speaking skills, with the mean score increasing from 60.5 (SD = 8.4) in the pre-test to 79.3 (SD = 7.2) in the post-test (p = 0.002). Questionnaire feedback indicated high levels of engagement (85%), ease of use (78%), and perceived effectiveness (82%). The results demonstrated that podcast-based learning media served as an innovative and effective tool to enhance speaking skills and engagement in Islamic education. This study concluded that podcasts improved measurable outcomes and fostered positive perceptions and motivation among students. The findings suggested that podcast-based learning media could be broadly applied in similar educational contexts to support student-centered and interactive learning approaches.

This study aimed to: 1) analyze the correlation between learning media variation and students' understanding of Fiqh material in Grade VI at SDIT Abuhurairah Mataram; 2) examine the correlation between students' reading interest and their understanding of Fiqh material; and 3) determine the joint influence of learning media variation and reading interest on students' understanding of Fiqh material. A quantitative correlational approach was employed, with data collected from 30 students using questionnaires to assess learning media variation and reading interest and tests to measure understanding of Fiqh material. Data were analyzed using Pearson’s correlation coefficient and multiple regression analysis. The results revealed three key findings: 1) a strong positive correlation (r=0.72) between learning media variation and students' understanding of Fiqh material, indicating that diverse teaching tools significantly enhance comprehension; 2) a positive and significant correlation (r=0.65) between reading interest and understanding of Fiqh material, demonstrating that higher reading interest fosters better engagement and comprehension; and 3) a significant joint influence of learning media variation and reading interest, accounting for 68% of the variability in students' understanding (R²=0.68). Regression analysis indicated that learning media variation (b₁=0.45) had a slightly greater impact than reading interest (b₂=0.38). These findings highlight the importance of integrating diverse teaching media, such as visual aids, technology, and interactive activities, alongside fostering reading interest through engaging materials and activities to optimize student comprehension. Practical implications include adopting innovative teaching methods to enhance engagement and learning outcomes.

This study investigates the pivotal role of school principals in advancing educational institutions through the implementation of the Kurikulum Merdeka (Independent Curriculum). It focuses on how principals lead, manage resources, and foster innovation to enhance teaching and learning processes. A qualitative approach was adopted, utilizing in-depth interviews, observations, and document analysis in schools that have implemented the Kurikulum Merdeka. The findings highlight that principals serve as transformational leaders, effectively shaping institutional vision, inspiring teacher collaboration, and engaging stakeholders. They play a critical role in managing changes associated with curriculum implementation, ensuring a smooth transition by providing continuous training and professional development for teachers. Through strategic leadership, principals motivate teachers to embrace innovative teaching strategies, fostering a dynamic and engaging learning environment. The implementation of the Kurikulum Merdeka under principal leadership has demonstrated significant improvements in learning quality. It has cultivated a creative and flexible learning atmosphere, promoting student independence and critical thinking. By prioritizing collaboration and leveraging resources efficiently, principals have successfully aligned institutional goals with the curriculum's objectives. This study underscores the importance of strategic and adaptive leadership in addressing the challenges of curriculum reform. Principals’ ability to lead change and optimize institutional potential is critical in achieving educational excellence. The findings suggest that with effective leadership, schools can maximize the benefits of the Kurikulum Merdeka, creating environments that empower students and support holistic development.

This study aims to determine learning outcomes, whether there is an influence, and how much influence of the use of YouTube video media to the learning outcomes of class V college students of the country 06 Pontianak south. The method of this research is the experimental method with the type of quasi experimental research. The data analysis technique used in this research is measurement / test-shaped technique of multiple choice. The instrument of this research is about pre test and posttest. The results showed the result of student learning students of v. Primary School of the country 06 Pontianak south searched the difference between experimental and control classes showing some advantages affecting learning outcomes by applying video media and not video client media, Microwuate video media affect the learning outcomes of class V college students Primary School 06 Pontianak South is with significance value of 0.013, and great from the effect of YouTube video media to student learning outcomes of class V college of the country 06 Pontianak South is 1 of which is included in the category high.

This investigation was prompted by pupils' inability to comprehend the diameter of two-dimensional figures. Students often experience boredom in studying due to the teacher's exclusive reliance on lecture methods, which adversely impacts their comprehension of the circumference of planar shapes. This research aims to create an Android-based application named AREA to enhance fifth-grade students' comprehension of flat figures at SD Negeri Setiajaya 01 and to evaluate its practicality. The employed research methodology is Research and Development (R&D) utilizing the ADDIE model for the development phase. The research instruments employed included validation sheets for material experts, media experts, pretest-posttest questionnaires, and response surveys for teachers and students. Data analysis methodologies for expert and educator validation are assessed via a Likert scale; thereafter, pretest and posttest evaluations employ N-Gain formula analysis, while media appropriateness is gauged by questionnaires directed at instructors and students. The research findings indicate that the Android-based AREA media is highly valid for usage, as evidenced by validation results from material and media specialists, which yielded an average percentage of 98% in the highly viable category. The media's suitability can be assessed through the teacher questionnaire results, which yielded a score of 92%, and the student response questionnaire, which indicated a score of 99%. According to these findings, AREA media can be classified as highly appropriate for educational purposes. Apart from that, the N-gain persent or N-gain percentage results were also abtained at 66,93% so that based on these result it can be said that AREA media is “effective enough” to be used in the learning process.
