Abstract

This study investigates the effect of globe teaching aids on elementary students' Social Science literacy, particularly in understanding map materials. The need for this Research arises from Indonesia's low literacy performance in PISA 2022, which underscores the urgency of implementing more effective and engaging learning strategies. A quasi-experimental design was used, involving two groups and 30 students in total. The experimental group received instruction using globe teaching aids, while the control group was taught through conventional methods. The findings show a significant improvement in students' Social Science literacy among those who were taught using globes, as indicated by posttest differences between the two groups (p < 0.05). The normalized gain score further demonstrates the intervention's effectiveness, with the experimental group achieving a gain of 0.734 compared to 0.337 in the control group. These results indicate that using globes not only enhances students' comprehension of spatial relationships but also strengthens their overall map literacy. The study highlights the importance of integrating concrete and interactive learning tools in Social Science instruction. The findings provide practical implications for educators, suggesting that globe teaching aids can serve as an effective alternative to improve students’ literacy and engagement in learning map concepts.

Abstract

This study examines the effects of locally wisdom-based interactive e-comics on fifth-grade students' learning outcomes and motivation in fable learning, addressing low achievement and motivation stemming from the dominance of less engaging conventional media. A quasi-experimental method with a non-equivalent control group design was employed. The sample consisted of 37 fifth-grade students from SDN 18 Kampung Dalam (experimental class) and SDN 30 Kampung Dalam (control class). Research instruments included learning outcome tests (pretest and posttest) and a learning motivation questionnaire. Data were analyzed using normality and homogeneity tests and an ANOVA. The findings revealed that the use of interactive e-comics based on local wisdom had a significant effect (p < 0.05) on both learning outcomes and motivation. The experimental class achieved an average posttest score of 93, compared with 83.79 for the control group. The findings revealed a significant difference between the groups (p < 0.05). The experimental class achieved higher posttest scores (93) than the control class (83.79) and showed greater motivation gains (32.78 and 16.06). These results indicate that locally wisdom-based interactive e-comics effectively enhance learning outcomes and motivation, highlighting their potential as an engaging, culturally relevant learning medium in elementary fable instruction.

Abstract

This study aims to analyze the levels of students' learning discipline, teachers' pedagogical competency strategies, and their effectiveness in improving students' learning discipline in the Ki Hajar Dewantara Cluster in Pekuncen District. This study employed a descriptive qualitative method, with data collection techniques including observation, in-depth interviews, and documentation. Subjects included elementary school teachers and students selected purposively. Data were analyzed through the stages of reduction, presentation, and conclusion drawing using a source triangulation approach. The results indicate that students' learning discipline is considered good, characterized by punctuality, responsibility, and adherence to learning rules. The pedagogical strategies implemented by teachers include habituation, role modelling, and character-oriented motivation. Teachers' pedagogical competency has proven effective in improving students' learning discipline through a reflective approach and a conducive learning environment. The implications of this study emphasize the importance of strengthening pedagogical competency as a primary factor in developing learning discipline in elementary schools. The results also contribute to the development of character education theory and serve as a reference for future policies aimed at improving teacher professionalism.

Abstract

Digital transformation, workforce globalization, and Industry 4.0 require rapid adaptation in vocational education to prepare competitive graduates for the global labour market. This study identifies strategies to enhance vocational graduates' employability and maps thematic clusters and Research trends. We conducted a systematic literature review with a PRISMA bibliometric analysis. A search in Scopus and Google Scholar retrieved 400 records; after removing duplicates, screening, applying inclusion/exclusion criteria (peer-reviewed journals indexed in Scopus or SINTA 1–2, full text, relevance), and quality assessment, 44 articles (2020–2025) were analyzed. Bibliometric and thematic synthesis revealed five clusters: (1) digital transformation and Industry 4.0–oriented learning, (2) work-based learning and dual systems, (3) skills development and employability, (4) policy and governance, and (5) entrepreneurship and career development. Findings show that employability is strengthened by integrating technical and soft skills, fostering industry partnerships, improving digital literacy, enhancing teacher competence, and adopting adaptive governance. The study proposes an integrated framework linking digital transformation, learning, and governance, and offers evidence-based guidance for policymakers, institutions, and stakeholders to design responsive vocational strategies aligned with Industry 4.0.

Abstract

This study aims to gain an in-depth understanding of how Indonesian English Education students describe their teaching experiences during the 2024 International Service Learning Program in Malaysia. Employing a qualitative narrative inquiry design, data were collected through in-depth interviews and reflective narratives, then analyzed using Braun and Clarke's thematic analysis to identify recurring patterns within the participants' stories. The findings reveal three central themes: (1) cultural adjustment, reflected in students' efforts to navigate different classroom norms and communication styles; (2) pedagogical shift, demonstrated through their Adaptation of teaching strategies to meet Malaysian learners' expectations; and (3) professional identity formation, emerging through ongoing reflection on their roles as novice teachers in a cross-cultural context. These results contribute to the theoretical understanding of intercultural teacher education by highlighting the value of narrative Inquiry in capturing identity development within transnational teaching spaces. Practically, this study underscores the importance of structured intercultural preparation for pre-service teachers. At the same time, at the policy level, it emphasizes the need to expand international exposure programs to strengthen global teaching competencies.
