Abstract

The teaching profession is a specialized field that requires specific expertise and legal recognition. This non-empirical article aims to examine the definition and requirements of the teaching profession based on a conceptual literature review of sources published in the last five years. The method used is a conceptual literature review involving systematic searching, selection, and synthesis of relevant sources. The findings indicate that the teaching profession is not merely a job but a vocation that demands pedagogical, personal, social, and professional competencies, supported by official certification and adherence to a code of ethics. This article emphasizes that meeting these requirements is essential to ensure the quality of national education. Keywords: teaching profession, teacher requirements, education, professionalism.

Abstract

The development of information technology has driven the need for innovation in elementary school learning so that the learning process remains relevant to the demands of the 21st century. One effort that can be made is to integrate technology-based learning with a scientific approach. This study aims to describe and analyze the integration of technology-based learning through a scientific approach in elementary school learning at SDN 26 Lubuk Alung. This study uses a qualitative approach with a descriptive research type. The research subjects include classroom teachers, students, and the principal. Data collection techniques were carried out through observation, interviews, and documentation. Data analysis was conducted qualitatively through data reduction, data presentation, and conclusion drawing. The results showed that the integration of technology-based learning through a scientific approach was able to create more active, interactive, and meaningful learning. The use of technology at each stage of the scientific approach can increase student engagement, encourage critical thinking skills, and strengthen the role of teachers as learning facilitators. Although there were several obstacles in its implementation, such as differences in students' abilities to utilize technology, teachers were able to make adjustments so that learning remained effective. This study concluded that the integration of technology-based learning through a scientific approach is a relevant and effective strategy for improving the quality of learning in elementary schools

Abstract

ABSTRACT This study discusses the implementation of Dance and Speech Extracurricular Activities to Enhance Student Creativity at SMP IT Ar Rasyid Limau Manis. The main topics discussed are: How Dance and Speech Extracurricular Activities Work at SMP IT Ar Rasyid Limau Manis, How Dance and Speech Extracurricular Activities Implementation Improves Student Creativity at SMP IT Ar Rasyid Limau Manis, and What are the supporting and inhibiting factors for the implementation of Dance and Speech Extracurricular Activities in Enhancing Student Creativity at SMP IT Ar Rasyid Limau Manis.This study uses qualitative research with descriptive methods and field research. The data for this research was collected from SMP IT Ar Rasyid Limau Manis. The field research findings show the implementation of dance and speech extracurricular activities at SMP IT Ar Rasyid Limau Manis. Dance and speech extracurricular activities are part of the non-academic activities routinely held at SMP IT Ar Rasyid Limau Manis. These activities are supported by the school and are implemented in a structured manner with a schedule, dedicated mentors, and targeted student development. These activities focus not only on technical skills but also serve as a means of character development and self-expression for students. Implementation of Extracurricular Activities in Enhancing Student Creativity. The implementation of dance and speech extracurricular activities has been proven to provide a space for students to express their ideas, talents, and creative thinking skills. In dance activities, creativity is evident through students' ability to explore movement and artistic expression. Meanwhile, in speech activities, students' creativity is evident in their ability to compose scripts, convey ideas, and develop courage in public speaking. Teachers use a varied approach and encourage active participation, making the learning process more lively and supporting the growth of creativity. Factors Supporting and Inhibiting the Implementation of Extracurricular Activities The main supporting factors in implementing this extracurricular activity include school support, the competence of the supervising teacher, student enthusiasm, and the availability of performance venues such as competitions and school events. However, several inhibiting factors also exist, such as limited practice time, inadequate facilities, differences in student ability levels, and a lack of parental support. The school has attempted to overcome these obstacles through flexible time management, a personalized approach to guidance, and active communication with parents.

Abstract

This study aims to analyze the influence of the principal's transformational leadership, organizational communication, and work motivation partially and simultaneously on teacher performance in Elementary Schools in Sawangan District, Depok City. The research approach used is quantitative with an associative method. The population in this study were all Elementary School teachers in Sawangan District with a sample of 102 respondents. Data collection techniques were carried out through a questionnaire with a Likert scale instrument that has been tested for validity and reliability. Data analysis included classical assumption tests and multiple linear regression analysis using SPSS software version 27. The results showed that partially, there was a positive and significant influence of transformational leadership on teacher performance with the equation model Y = 1.873 + 0.997X1. Organizational communication was also proven to have a positive and significant influence on teacher performance with the model Y = 25.329 + 0.851X2. Likewise, work motivation had a positive and significant influence on teacher performance through the equation model Y = 3.361 + 0.985X3. Simultaneously, these variables contributed a very strong influence on teacher performance. As an illustration, the correlation test between organizational communication and work motivation shows a 90.0% contribution to teacher performance, while the remaining 10.0% is influenced by factors outside the research variables. This indicates that effective teacher performance improvement can be achieved through strengthening an inspirational leadership style, developing healthy organizational communication, and continuously improving teacher work motivation.

Abstract

ABSTRACT This research is based on the existence of a problem or problem in the reading skills of class 4A students at SDN Panancangan 02. Therefore the researcher formulates a solution from this study which refers to the purpose of this study, namely the application of the SAS method to improve reading skills in class 4A. The method in this study uses descriptive qualitative with a qualitative approach and data collection techniques through interviews, observations and tests. The results of this study can be shown that using the SAS method can make the reading skills of students in class 4A at SDN Panancangan 2 from sufficient to good. This was obtained from the results and observations of the pre-cycle phase, cycle 1 and cycle 2. ABTRAK Penelitian ini didasari oleh adanya suatu permasalahan atau problematika didalam keterampilan membaca peserta didik kelas 4A di SDN Panancangan 02 ini. Oleh karena itu peneliti merumuskan suatu solusi dari penelitian ini yang mengacu kepada tujuan dari penelitian ini yaiu Penerapan Metode SAS untuk meningkatkan keterampilan membaca dikelas 4A. Adapun metode dalam penelitian ini menggunakan Deskriptif Kualitatif dengan pendekatan kualtatif serta teknik pengumpulan datanya melalui Wawancara, Observasi dan Tes. Hasil penelitian ini dapat dtunjukan bahwa dengan penggunaan Metode SAS ini dapat membuat keterampilan membaca Peserta didik kelas 4A SDN Panancangan 2 dari cukup menjadi baik. Hal ini didapatkan dari hasil dan pengamatan fase prasiklus, siklus 1 dan siklus 2.

Abstract

The main issue in this study is how to improve the reading skills of second-grade students at UPT SD Negeri 107 Inpres Kunjung, Takalar Regency, through the use of alphabet flashcards. This study aims to improve the reading skills of second-grade students at UPT SD Negeri 107 Inpres Kunjung, Takalar Regency, through the use of alphabet flashcards. This study is a classroom action research consisting of two cycles, with each cycle conducted over four meetings. The research procedure included planning, implementation of actions, observation, and reflection. The subjects in this study were 26 second grade students at UPT SD Negeri 107 Inpres Kunjung, Takalar Regency. The results showed that in cycle I, only 7 or 27% of the 26 students individually met the learning achievement criteria (KKTP) or were in the low category. Classically, the criteria were not met because the average score was 57.6%. Meanwhile, in cycle II, 23 out of 26 students, or 88%, met the KKTP, and classically, the average score obtained was 82.3%, which was in the very high category. Based on the above research results, it can be concluded that the Indonesian language learning outcomes of second-grade students at UPT SD Negeri 107 Inpres Kunjung, Takalar Regency, through the use of alphabet flashcards have improved. Abstract

Literasi dasar merupakan fondasi utama sistem pendidikan yang menghadapi tantangan kompleks di era pascapandemi tahun 2025. Penurunan kemampuan pemahaman mendalam (deep reading) dan kejenuhan siswa terhadap metode pembelajaran konvensional menuntut adanya inovasi pedagogis yang adaptif. Penelitian ini bertujuan untuk menganalisis efektivitas metode bercerita (storytelling) dalam pembelajaran Bahasa Indonesia untuk penguatan literasi siswa Sekolah Dasar (SD). Metode penelitian yang digunakan adalah Systematic Literature Review (SLR) dengan protokol PRISMA. Analisis dilakukan terhadap 10 artikel ilmiah terpilih dari database Google Scholar, Garuda, SINTA, dan ERIC dalam rentang waktu 2021 hingga 2025. Hasil sintesis data menunjukkan tiga temuan utama: (1) Integrasi teknologi melalui digital storytelling dan Augmented Reality (AR) secara signifikan meningkatkan retensi memori dan kosakata siswa hingga 28%; (2) Media konvensional seperti boneka tangan dan cerita rakyat tetap efektif dalam membangun karakter dan minat baca pada siswa kelas rendah (Fase A); serta (3) Teknik bercerita mampu menyeimbangkan keterampilan reseptif (menyimak) dan produktif (berbicara/retelling). Simpulan penelitian ini menegaskan bahwa metode bercerita, baik secara digital maupun konvensional, merupakan instrumen fleksibel yang efektif untuk meningkatkan keterlibatan emosional dan pencapaian literasi komprehensif di tingkat sekolah dasar.

Abstract

This study aims to identify and describe the character education values contained in the Indonesian Language textbook for Grade V Elementary School using the 2013 Curriculum. The background is the important role of textbooks as a strategic tool in building students’ character. Using a descriptive qualitative approach and content analysis techniques, this study reveals that there are 13 main character values that appear in various story texts in the book. These values include: love of the homeland/national spirit, environmental care, social care, religious, communicative, curiosity, honesty, responsibility, democracy, love of peace, creativity, hard work, and heroic values. These findings indicate that the Indonesian Language textbook for Grade V using the 2013 Curriculum contains various important character values, so that it not only functions as a source of language material, but also as an effective tool to shape students with integrity and responsibility in accordance with national education goals.

Abstract

Students of the Faculty of Teacher Training and Education (FKIP) at Universitas Muhammadiyah Makassar are future educators who play a vital role in educating the nation's life. However, situational analysis shows that student understanding regarding the aspects of legality and professional protection through teaching professional organizations is still very minimal. This community service aims to provide in-depth education regarding the roles, functions, and urgency of teaching professional organizations for students as a foundation for professionalism. The method of implementation is carried out through awareness-raising and increasing understanding of a problem using an educational literature review approach. The material covers the introduction of various professional organizations in Indonesia, such as PGRI and IGI, as well as the benefits of membership in providing legal protection and continuous competency development. The results of this activity indicate an increase in student awareness and enthusiasm in understanding their rights and obligations as members of the profession in the future. Through this education, it is expected that graduates of FKIP Unismuh Makassar will not only excel in pedagogical aspects but also be organizationally savvy in maintaining the dignity and honor of the teaching profession professionally and with integrity.

Abstract

Professional attitude is an essential competence that must be possessed by prospective teachers, including students of Mathematics Education programs. Teacher professionalism is not only determined by mastery of subject matter and pedagogical skills, but also by professional attitudes reflected in responsibility, discipline, ethics, and commitment to continuous self-development. This article aims to examine the development of professional attitudes of Mathematics Education students as future educators. The method used is a literature review by analyzing various relevant sources such as books, scientific journals, and educational regulations. The results of the study indicate that the development of professional attitudes can be carried out through learning processes in higher education, teaching practice experiences, habituation of professional ethics values, and continuous self-reflection. With well-developed professional attitudes, Mathematics Education students are expected to become competent, responsible, and integrity-driven teachers in the future.
