Abstract

The implementation of the Independent Curriculum demands synergy between national competency standards and teaching materials in schools. Although textbook reviews are frequently conducted, in-depth analysis of the quality and suitability of the General Instructional Objectives (TIU/Learning Outcomes) and Specific Instructional Objectives (TIK/Learning Objectives) in the Indonesian Language textbook for grade XI published by the Ministry of Education, Culture, Research, and Technology is still very limited. This study aims to analyze the quality (content, language, presentation) and suitability of TIU-TIK in the student textbook and teacher's guidebook entitled Smart and Smart in Indonesian Language and Literature for Senior High School Grade XI. This study uses a qualitative approach with descriptive methods through content analysis techniques. The research objects include the Student Book and the Teacher's Guidebook to see instructional consistency. The research findings show that: (1) Based on the appropriateness of the content, this textbook has high quality and is aligned with Phase F Learning Outcomes; (2) Based on the appropriateness of the language, the use of sentences is very communicative and in accordance with the thought process and cognitive development of grade XI students; (3) Based on the appropriateness of the presentation, this book contains various structural updates that facilitate the contextual integration of TIU and ICT. Overall, the Smart Smart Indonesian Language and Literature student and teacher textbooks meet quality standards and have very good conformity to curriculum objectives, so they are suitable for use as the main instrument of learning.

Abstract

21st-century education emphasizes the importance of communication, collaboration, critical thinking, and creativity skills to prepare the Indonesia’s Golden Generation 2045 or widely known as Generasi Emas Indonesia 2045. One of the skills that needs to be developed is collaboration, because through teamwork, students can learn to appreciate others opinions, taking responsibilities, and actively contribute to completing shared tasks between students. This study aims to improve students’ collaboration skills through the implementation of the Teams Games Tournament (TGT) learning model. The subjects of this research were 31 eighth-grade students of SMP Negeri 11 Samarinda in the 2024/2025 academic year. The method used was Classroom Action Research based on the Kemmis and McTaggart model, consisting of one cycle including planning, action implementation, observation, and reflection. Data were collected through observation and documentation, then analyzed quantitatively to measure collaboration skills and qualitatively to describe the learning process. The results showed an increase in collaboration skills from the pre-cycle condition, where only 16% of students were in the collaborative category, to the 64% high at the end of the cycle. Students showed improvement in many aspects of teamwork, active participation, appreciation of different opinions, and group responsibilities. The study concludes that the implementation of the Teams Games Tournament model is effective in improving students collaboration skills. It is recommended that teachers should prepare heterogeneous group formation, assign group leaders, and manage time effectively to optimize the implementation of the TGT model.

Abstract

This study aims to conceptually analyze the relationship between Human Resource Management (HRM) practices and teacher performance, with work engagement as a mediating variable. The study employed a qualitative approach with library research. Data were obtained through literature analysis over the past five years (2020–2025) from reputable international journals and accredited national journals. The synthesis results indicate that strategic HRM practices such as continuous training, competency-based performance evaluation systems, fair compensation, and transformational leadership significantly influence work engagement. Furthermore, work engagement was shown to be the primary psychological mechanism mediating the relationship between HRM practices and teacher performance improvement. These findings reinforce Strategic Human Resource Management theory and research findings in The International Journal of Human Resource Management (2022) and Human Resource Management Journal (2021). This study concludes that optimizing strategic and humanistic-based HRM systems is key to continuously improving the quality of education.

Abstract

This study focuses on the use of Smart Boards in teaching Islamic Cultural History (SKI) to Madrasah Ibtidaiyah (MI) students using an interactive audio-visual approach, employing a qualitative literature review method. The issue addressed is the limited effectiveness of traditional teaching methods in engaging students and helping them understand historical concepts that are often difficult to grasp. The objective of this study is to analyze how Smart Boards can enhance student motivation and understanding during the SKI learning process. Data were obtained from books, research articles, journals, and reliable online sources related to Smart Boards and interactive learning. The results indicate that Smart Boards significantly boost student motivation by presenting material in various formats—such as text, images, animations, audio, and video—which capture attention and spark curiosity. Students become more active and confident through interactive activities like quizzes, discussions, and digital assignments. Additionally, the Smart Board helps students better understand historical events through concrete visual presentations, making it easier for them to grasp the sequence and context. Compared to traditional methods, the Smart Board offers superior visual quality, greater interactivity, and supports diverse learning styles. In conclusion, the Smart Board has proven effective in creating a more engaging SKI learning experience.

Abstract

This study reconstructs the conceptual relationship between modern professionalism in human resource management (HRM) and Islamic spirituality within an integrative framework. Mainstream HRM literature predominantly conceptualizes professionalism as a rational-instrumental system grounded in competency, performance metrics, and strategic alignment, often presuming value neutrality. In contrast, Islamic management emphasizes tawhid, amanah, and ihsan as ethical foundations of work, yet lacks systematic operational integration into contemporary HRM models. Employing a qualitative approach through a systematic literature review of international publications (2020-2024), this study conducts a critical-conceptual synthesis to address this theoretical gap. The findings demonstrate that the perceived dichotomy between professionalism and spirituality can be reconciled through a value-based HRM paradigm integrating structural accountability with spiritually grounded moral responsibility. The study contributes theoretically by redefining professionalism as inherently value-embedded, offering a holistic and ethically grounded alternative for contemporary HRM theory and practice.
